Aquatics Leaders Club (ages 1-15) Interested in eventually becoming a YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor? Teens will learn the skills and attitude necessary to provide a safe and fun aquatic learning environment for young children. Class includes in-water job shadowing, assisting in select Swim Lesson Classes, and out of water time to understand and learn the tools necessary to teach. Upon completion, participants will have Basic Water Safety skills and can volunteer as a Swim Instructor Assistant. Participants, 15+, can then apply to be a paid Swim Lesson Instructor. All children, 14 and under, must be accompanied by an adult, 18+, in the water. Parents must watch their children and keep them within arm s reach, unless they have passed their swim test. Children under 12, who have not passed our Swim Test, are REQUIRED to wear a PFD and must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Lap lanes may be added/removed at the discretion of the lifeguard. OTHER POOL INFORMATION Lifeguards are in charge of pool safety for all swimmers. Proper swim attire is necessary. Bathing suit required, no cut off or mesh shorts allowed.
