Welcome to Steppler Farms and our fi rst annual bull sale on March 27, 2012. We are excited to offer 58 head of purebred registered bulls. These animals, strictly culled and selected from our 400 purebred cows, are sired by our main herd sires: Sparrows Seminole 927W, Stepplers Distinction 38T, and Sparrows Oakridge 66R. We are particularly excited to offer for sale Seminole s fi rst set of bull calves; these quality ½ to ¾ brothers are consistent and uniform. This is your chance to purchase top bulls to breed to your cows. Dan used his fi rst registered Charolais bull in 1973 and in 1975 be- gan selling registered stock as Steppler Charolais. Gradually the herd size increased over the years, and now the cattle herd numbers 400 head of purebred white cows. In 2008, we incorporated into Steppler Farms Ltd. All four sons s are involved in Steppler Farms: Ian runs an 800 hive apiary; Geoff, when not fl ying for Air Canada, does the books and works within each operation; Adam operates 3000 grain acres; and Andre manages the cattle herd. Andre and Katie s marriage riage was a highlight this year. Previously we have sold all of our bulls through private treaty and we thank all our customers; now we have made the change to a one-day sale. Feel free to visit prior to the bull sale. They run the largest registered Charolais herd in Manitoba and did not sacrifice quality in building this program. They have always found herd bulls that they believe in and used them extensively. This has produced a very uniform cowherd with many closely related females and cow families. For nearly 40 years Dan and Pat have supplied and stood behind their product. In recent years Andre has taken some of their cattle on the show road to promote and compare them within the industry with great results. The depth of quality is impressive with something for everyone, from the commercial producer who wants one or a dozen bulls to add the needed pounds in a crossbreeding program, to the purebred breeder who is looking to improve the quality of their breeding stock. With Seminole, we won 2010 Supreme Champion Bull at MLE in 2010 as well as winning Grand Champion Charolais bull the same year. All settlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will be released. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made. Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale. Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer s decision is final. Announcements: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements. Purchaser s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured. All two year old bulls must be delivered as soon as possible. Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made. Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. A $50 discount will be given if purchases are picked up sale day. Delivery will be free up to 150 kms; a delivery charge of $50 per animal will be charged for distances over 150 km; we will share in delivery costs for out-of- province animals. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer s risk. STEPPLER Guarantee: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase Terms & Conditions or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. The purchaser must have the animal vet checked and if a problem is detected, the animal must be returned to Steppler Farms at the purchaser s expense. No incidental expenses such as feed, care, interest, veterinary charges, etc., will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal in question a breeder, the said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement F.O.B. ranch or location of origin or a refund of the actual price. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Exception Guarantee: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied. By Livestock assumes no obligation to enforce or collect monies between parties. By Livestock assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. Any legal action taken in exceptional cases must be between the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all guarantees and representations.
