I ll try again tomorrow. -Mary Anne Radmacher Clubs & Student Body Film Club: It s Halloween season and that means it s time for SCARY MOVIES! Film Club will be holding a Spooky Film Screening Monday, October 30 th and Tuesday, October 31 st. Monday s screening is Tim Burton s The Nightmare Before Christmas and Tuesday s screening will be James Wan s Insidious. Screening begins at 5 pm and is located on the Senior Lawn. They will be selling drinks, popcorn, and candy bags. Costumes are encouraged for Tuesday s screening! Hope to see you there! SEND A BOO TO YOUR BOO! GSA is in the final days of selling Halloween Grams! GSA members will be selling grams in A-Hall and around campus on Friday. We need all GSA member to help out, so please report to room 11 during lunch and after school! Halloween Grams will be delivered on Tuesday, October 31 st during 3 rd period. Super Art Club: Art Club is selling Día De Los Muertos sugar skull grams! Pre-orders will begin this Thursday and will last until Monday of next week. You can purchase pre-orders afterschool in A-Hall for $5. Novembr 1 st -3 rd they will be sold at the table for $6 each. Each gram includes delicious candy, so come buy some Helping Hands: Feeling Hot?? Helping Hands will be selling ICE CREAM! In A-Hall After School TODAY! Sports Girls Basketball: Come try out for girls basketball! Tryouts begin Monday, October 30 th and run through Friday, November 3 rd in the Main Gym from 5:00-7:00 pm. You must have a completed physical in order to try out. Girls Soccer: Girls soccer tryouts start Tuesday, October 31 st frpm 3:15-4:30 pm on the grass field. Please bring cleats, shin guards, and your completed physical. Softball: All girls interested in Softball please attend the meeting this Thursday, October 26 th at 3:30 pm at the Softball field. If you are unable to attend, please see Ms. Martinez or email her at ymartinez@sjusd.org for information. ALL WINTER SPORTS ATHLETES MUST MAKE SURE TO HAVE A COMPLETED PHYSICAL PRIOR TO TRYOUTS AND COMPLETE THE REGISTER MY ATHLETE ONLINE FORM. Please turn in your physical form to Ms. Martinez. Big Bone Homecoming Calling all Sophomores and Seniors! Nominations for Little Bone and Big Bone Royalty are NOW OPEN! Check out the nomination table in A-Hall to nominate yourself or a fellow classmate. Students must have an overall 2.5 GPA or above and must be in good behavioral standing with San José High School and SJUSD. Nominations are due by Friday, October 27 th! Elections will begin October 31 st. Get Ready for the Big Bone Homecoming! This year San José High will be hosting the Big Bone Ball on November 17 th. Ticket sales will start at $30. Drone Pilot Ground school is offering a scholarship to aspiring students that want to get certified as a drone pilot. First 100 students get their drone pilot test covered. College Visits SJSU Occupational Therapy: Students who have a 6 th period Learning Center AND are interested in health fields, can sign up to meet with a group of graduate students from SJSU s Masters Occupational Therapy program. They are coming to speak to students about the application process and your options for majors in college on Wednesday, November 1 st at 10am in the Library. Please sign up with Ms. Lala in the College and Career Center. SJSU: For students who are interested in health professions such as kinesiology, human development, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or would like to hear more about what careers you can pursue with one of these majors, students from San José State will be presenting to our school.
