2018 RUBBER CITY SOFTBALL RULES ADDENDUM Official Rule Book - NFHS (High School) Rule Book unless superseded by league rules. Playing Age - A Player's age for any year is their age on Jan. 1st of that year. A player can only play up or substitute one age division up of her proper age group. Game Ball - 10 & Under - 11" A.S.A or N.F.H.S. Optic Yellow All other leagues - 12" A.S.A or N.F.H.S. Optic Yellow Equipment - Fielders face mask ; all pitchers are required to wear a fielders face mask( 8u age division may substitute a batting helmet with a face guard and chin strap). It is highly recommended that All infielders also wear the fielders face mask. No metal cleats allowed in any age division Game Length - 6 Innings -- 10 & Under. All other leagues are 7 Innings. Extra innings will be played if game is tied and hasn't exceeded the time limit. TIME LIMIT no new inning after 2 1/2 hours for day games or lighted night games in all leagues. EVENING GAMES RULE - Games must start by 6:15 pm( 15 min. grace period for all age groups) No new innings after 8:00Pm (before June 1st) No new innings after 8:30Pm (after June 1st) A GAME IS OFFICIAL IF REGULATION INNINGS HAVE BEEN PLAYED OR IF TIME LIMIT/EVE. RULES LIMIT REACHED - REGARDLESS OF # OF INNINGS PLAYED. TIES COUNT. ANY RAIN AFFECTED OR RAIN ENDED GAME MUST BE 3 INNINGS IN LENGTH TO BE OFFICIAL IF THE FULL TIME LIMIT WAS T ABLE TO BE PLAYED, SCORES WILL REVERT TO THE LAST FULL INNING IN A RAIN ENDED GAME. ANY GAME T 3 FULL INNINGS WILL BE WASHED OUT AND WILL RESTART FROM THE BEGINNING. Playing Time Rules - All players at a game must play a minimum of 6 def. Outs in the field ( doesn't have to be consecutive) in a regulation game. All players must be put into the field by the third inning. If a player does not get into a game for 6 def. Outs because time/rain shortened game, that player will start the next game and play at least the first two innings of the next game. * All players rostered to a Rubber City Softball Team are required to play in 70% of the regular season games in order to be eligible for the Tournament. The exception is to unforeseen circumstances. (I.E. Injuries, health conditions, etc.) Travel/Tournament Playing Time Rule: All players must be rostered to a Rubber City Softball rec ball team by the deadline set by the board of Commissioners. All players must play in at least 70% of their assigned team games. Any players that does T meet these requirements, will T be eligible to participate in end of season Rubber City Softball tourname * Teams are restricted to only 2 Travel/Tournament players per roster. Tournament Play: Rubber City Softball Teams are limited to only 2 tournaments outside of the League during the regular season. High School Players: Girls that meet the age requirements in high school are eligible to play on 14u teams. Warm Up Pitches - Limited to 5 warm-up pitches -- BEFORE & DURING an inning. Sliding - Sliding is allowed in all leagues. There will be penalty for not sliding if contact is made. Short handed Rule - A player may be brought UP from a lower league to play if you do not have enough players.9 for 14u and 10 for all other age divisions. Cannot be brought from within the same league. She may not play the field if a regular player arrives late, but will remain in the batting order if play has already started. Short handed #2 - You may T use lower league players if you have the correct amount of your regular players. 10U- 10 players, 12U- 10 players, 14U- 9 players. This includes batting. Unlimited Run Rule - Unlimited runs in the last inning for all leagues. Last inning is determined by the Umpire. Batting Rule - Only when the batting order drops below 9 players does that team have to take an out when that player would be up to bat.if you started the game with 8 players in 14u, you do not have to take an out Chattering Rule - Catcher's are T permitted to chatter. No negative chatter or chatter towards a player is is permitted. "hey batter is permitted " Ejection Rule- Any Player/Coach ejected from a game is suspended from the NEXT game played. league commissioner must be contacted for all ejections for review Protests - Must be made immediately. A $50.00 protest fee is to be given to the Umpire in charge and the exact game situation noted. A Protest is to be formed from the Commissioners of the communities not involved in the game. All parties involved in game (Umpires & Coaches) should report to their League Commissioner who will forward it to the protest committee. A Coach may withdraw his/her protest at any time until the Umpire leaves the field at the conclusion of the game. Umpires will check with protesting Coach upon conclusion game to see if Coach wishes to withdraw protest. The $50.00 is refundable only if protest is upheld. Rescheduling Rule - A new game date MUST be agreed upon within 7 days and should be played within 2 weeks or the teams will receive 0 pts. If only one team is willing to reschedule, a forfeit will be awarded and they will recevie 3 points.

FAST PITCH RULES FOR THE 8 & UNDER COACH PITCH 2018 RULE #1 AGE: A player's playing age for any year is their age on Jan 1st of THAT year. RULE #2 PITCHING DISTANCE: RULE #3 BASE DISTANCE: 30 FT. from the rear of Home Plate to the front of Pitching Rubber. 60 FT RULE #4 NUMBER OF PLAYERS: MAX: 11 MIN.: 7 If a team does not have 7, the game can be rescheduled IF both coaches agree. If coaches cannot agree, the team without 7 players shall forfeit the game. RULE #5 GAME TIME: RULE #6 GAME LENGTH: RULE #7 RUN LIMIT: RULE #8 MERCY RULE: RULE #9 BATTING ORDER: 6:15 PM There shall be a grace period of fifteen (15) minutes. 6 Innings. Extra Innings will be played if game is tied and hasn't exceeded time limit. TIME LIMIT- 2 1/2 hours for day games or lighted night games in all leagues. EVENING GAME RULES- Games must start by 6:15 PM NEW INNINGS AFTER 8:00PM BEFORE JUNE 1st. NEW INNINGS AFTER 8:30PM AFTER JUNE 1st. A game is official if regulation innings have been played or if time limit/evening rules limit reached-regardless of # of innings played. TIES COUNT Any rain effected or rain ended game must be 3 innings in length to be official if the full time limit was not able to be played. Scores will revert back to the last full inning in a rain ended game. Any game T 3 full innings will be washed out and will restart from the beginning. 6 per inning. In the 6th Inning and ONLY in the 6th Inning, runs shall be Unlimited. Fifteen (15) AFTER the 4th Inning. Game is over in the Bottom of the 4th at the point when a 15-run lead has been accomplished. CONTINUOUS - EVERYONE BATS! RULE #10 STEALING: If runner leaves before ball crosses plate the team will get a warning after that runners will be called out for the rest of the game for leaving ea RULE #11 LEAD OFFS:. Runners may only advance when ball crosses the plate and ball is hit.if runner leaves when batter swings and misses she is not out. if runner runs over 2nd or 3rd base and gets tagged she is out if she runs to first and makes an attempt to 2nd and gets tagged shes out RULE #12 DEAD BALL: Ball is DEAD at point when Pitcher is " IN CONTROL" of ball and is in the Pitchers Circle. Runners who are 1/2 way or more when ball becomes dead, shall be awarded the next base. Runners less than 1/2 way shall return to previous base fly ball caught runners may tag up only 1 base aloud even on an over throw unless its an outfield hit 12a - On a outfield Hit,ball becomes dead when pitcher has control of the ball in the pitchers circle An outfield hit is determined by the umpire, the ball must travel through the infield and pass the baseline without being touched 12b - 12c - 12d - RULE #13 COACH PITCHING: When Bases are Empty, an infielder must throw to 1st base, on an infield hit - Batter/Runner can T advance on an Over-throw. When Runners are on base, an attempt must be made on the runner. On a infield hit, runners can ONLY advance one (1) base from time of the pitch. Coaches will pitch to their own team when at bats, with an opposing player beside him/her to field all balls hit to the Pitchers area. If any coach touches or interferes in any way with the fielders, the ball becomes DEAD ant the batter bats again with the same count as before. All base runners will return to the base they were originally on. Under circumstances will a run score This includes batted balls. This includes batted balls. RULE #14 FIELD COACH: Up to 2 Coaches maximum are permitted to stand in the outfield to help position the defensive outfielders and help instruct them. They may T touch any player while the ball is in play. Coaches must remain behind the outfielders. Five infield players ONLY inside baselines. Outfielders must remain outside baselines until ball is hit. Only 1 player per infield position. Opitional RULE #21 HASH MARKS YES hash marks placed 1/2 way between 1st & 2nd, 2nd & 3rd, and a line placed 15 feet behind 1st & 2nd, 2nd & 3rd (to insure outfielders are far enough back) RULE #22 PITCHING LIMIT: RULE #23 BAT THROWING: RULE #24 THROWING BASE RUNNERS OUT: RULE #25 OUTFIELD POSITIONS: RULE #26 OUTFIELD POSITION: RULE #27 EQUIPMENT: RULE #28 8TH PITCH FOUL: EIGHT (8) pitches per batter. Only swinging strikes are called. Batter is out with three swings or after eight (8) pitches have been thrown, unless 8th pitch is fouled. Team warning the first time. Batters may be called out after team warning has been given if problems persists. Must be flagrant throw----in judgment of Umpire. Fielders must throw the ball when putting runners out. Rolling the ball to a base or player shall not be permitted. Umpire shall rule runner safe if ball is rolled to get player out. Up to 5 outfielder Maximum allowed in outfield positions. Outfielder position MUST be a minimum of 15ft. behind the baseline. metal spikes. Catcher must wear all approved catcher's equipment. If a foul ball is hit on 8th pitch.. Batter will continue until 3rd strike.
