The power uni used on his lif conains high volage. Disconnec power a he recepacle before performing any elecrical repairs. Secure plug so ha i canno be accidenally plugged in during service. 14. WARNING! RISK OF EXPLOSION. This equipmen has inernal arcing or sparking pars which should no be exposed o flammable vapors. This machine should no be locaed in a recessed area or below floor level. 15. MAINTAIN WITH CARE. Keep lif clean for beer and safer performance. Follow manual for proper lubricaion and mainenance insrucions. Keep conrol handles and/or buons dry, clean and free from grease and oil. 7. DO NOT override self-closing lif conrols. 8. REMAIN CLEAR of lif when raising or lowering vehicle. 9. CLEAR AREA if vehicle is in danger of falling. 10. STEP 3 (Power Uni Se Up) 1. Se he Power Uni on he Sand/Tow Handle and moun using he four M8 x 1.25 x 20mm Bols, Nus and Washers. (See Fig 3.1) Fig 3.1 2. Remove plug from power uni and insall he 90 Fiing w/ O-ring ino he power por on he Power Uni. Take care o make sure he O-ring seas properly. 3. Connec he 144" Hydraulic Hose o he 90 Fiing. 4. Fill he reservoir wih 6 quars/1.5 gals of AW-32 or Dexron III or VI auomaice ransmission fluid. STEP 4 (Connecing Hydraulic Fiings / Hoses) 1. Remove he plasic plug from he lef por of he lef hand Cylinder. 2. Insall he Sraigh Hydraulic Fiing in he lef por of he lef hand Cylinder. Use Teflon ape on he Cylinder side on he Fiing only. 3. Aach he 144" Hydraulic Hose o he Sraigh Fiing in he por of he lef hand side Cylinder. 4. Check he 21.25" Hose connecions and 90 Fiings on he righ side of he lef side Cylinder Fiing. Then check he oher end of he 21.25" Hose and 90 Fiing on he lef fiing side of he righ hand Cylinder. 5. The righ side hydraulic por of he righ Cylinder should be plugged wih a meal plug. Check plug and ighen if necessary. (See Fig 4.1) Fig 4.1. 10

STEP 5 (Lif Arm Insallaion) 1. Se he Adjusable Arm on he Ramp ensuring ha he Bol on he arm is insered hrough he arm holder channel on he side of he ramp. (See Fig. 5.1) Fig 5.1 STEP 6 (Insalling / Changing Lif Pads) 1. Remove he Socke Head Screw from he end of he lif arm. 2. Slide he desired heigh Lif Pad riser ono he lif arm. Replace and ighen he Socke head Screw. Drop in he Lif Pad if applicable. (See Fig.3.) Fig 6.1 M12 x 1.75 x 20mm Screw Lif Pad Assembly 3. Tighen he M-20-10 nu unil he arm canno pivo, hen back he nu off unil he arm is jus loose enough o pivo freely. (See Fig.5.2) Fig 5.2 Repea he above procedure for he oher hree arms. 4. Use he 3" Lif Pad Exension as necessary o reach proper lifing poins on he vehicle. WARNING! ALWAYS se he adjusable arms and pads under he proper lifing poins as indicaed in he Lifing Guide or owners manual of he vehicle. 11

STEP 7 (Wiring Hydraulic Power Uni) WARNING! RISK OF EXPLOSION! This equipmen has inernal arcing or pars ha may spark and should no be exposed o flammable vapors. Moor should no be locaed in a recessed area or below floor level. NEVER expose moor o rain or oher damp environmens. DAMAGE TO MOTOR CAUSED BY WATER IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. DANGER! DANGER! ALL WIRING MUST BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN. DO NOT PERFORM ANY MAINTENANCE OR INSTALLATION OF ANY COMPONENTS WITH OUT FIRST ENSURING THAT ELECTRICAL POWER HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED AT THE SOURCE OR PANEL AND CANNOT BE RE-ENERGIZED UNTIL ALL MAINTENANCE AND/OR INSTALLATION PROCEDURES ARE COMPLETED. 1. Have a cerified elecrician run he power supply o moor. Refer o he daa plae found on he moor for proper power supply and wire size. WARNING! DO NOT run power uni wih no oil. Damage o pump can occur. The power uni mus be kep dry. Damage o power uni caused by waer or oher liquids such as deergens, acid ec., is no covered under warrany. Operae lif only beween emperaures of 41-104 F. Improper elecrical hook-up can damage moor and will no be covered under warrany. Moor can no run on 50HZ wihou a physical change in moor. Use a separae breaker for each power uni. Proec each circui wih ime delay fuse or circui breaker. For 110-120 vol, single phase, use a 25 amp fuse. 12

STEP 8 (Lif Sar Up / Final Adjusmens) 1. Make sure he Power Uni reservoir is full wih 6 quars/ 1.5 gals of AW-32 hydraulic oil or Dexron III or VI auomaic ransmission fluid. 5. Verify ha he safey ress in he locked posiion a each safey sop. Safey is locked when a Safey Block is resing on Safey Pin. (See Fig. 8.1 & 8.2) Fig 8.1 2. Check he MAIN SAFETY LOCK o make sure i moves freely and springs back o he lock posiion when released. Lubricae all SAFETY PIVOT poins wih whie lihium grease. 3. Tes he Power Uni by pressing he push-buon swich. If he moor sounds like i is operaing properly, raise he lif and check all hose connecions for leaks. If he moor ges ho or sounds peculiar, sop and check all elecrical connecions. 4. Raise lif unil THE CYLINDER BOTTOMS OUT AND THE LIFT STOPS. Fig 8.2 Keep hands and fee clear. Remove hands and fee from any moving pars. Keep fee clear of lif when lowering. Avoid pinch poins. ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES. DANGER! VISUALLY CONFIRM THAT ALL PRIMARY SAFETY LOCKS ARE ENGAGED BEFORE ENTERING WORK AREA. Suspension componens us on his lif are inended o raise and lower lif only and are no mean o be load holding devices. Remain clear of elevaed lif unless visual confirmaion is made ha all primary Safey Locks are fully engaged and he lif is LOWERED ono he Safey Locks. Refer o insallaion /operaion manual for proper Safey Lock procedures and /or furher insrucion. 14

6. Raise he lif off he safey locks by pressing he push buon on he power uni. Make sure you raise he lif by a leas wo inches o allow adequae clearance for he safey lock o clear. ( See Fig. 8.3-8.5) Fig 8.3 Fig 8.5 Safey Unlocked Fig 8.4 STEP 9 (Bleeding) 1. Lif mus be fully lowered before changing or adding fluid. 2. Raise and lower lif six imes. The cylinder is self bleeding. Afer bleeding sysem, fluid level in power uni reservoir may be down. Add more fluid if necessary o raise lif o full heigh. I is only necessary o add fluid o raise lif o full heigh. 8. Lower lif by depressing lowering valve on power uni. 9. Run he lif up and down a few imes o ensure ha he locks are engaging uniformly and ha he safey release mechanisms are funcioning. Re-adjus if necessary 15 3. To pressure es, run lif o full rise and run moor for approximaely 3-seconds afer lif sops. This will place pressure on he hydraulic sysem. Sop and check all fiings and hose connecions. Tighen or reseal if required. POST-INSTALLATION CHECK-OFF Lif Assembly, Level And Sable Arm Assemblies Properly Aached Elecric Power Supply Confirmed Safey Locks Funcioning Properly Check For Hydraulic Leaks Oil Level Lubricaion of Criical Componens Check For Overhead Obsrucions Runways Level All Screws, Bols, and Pins Secured Surrounding Area Clean Operaion, Mainenance and Safey Manuals on Sie

STEP 10 (Operaion Insrucions) OWNER/EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITIES The Owner/Employer: Shall ensure ha lif operaors are qualified and ha hey are rained in he safe use and operaion of he lif using he manufacurer s operaing insrucions; ALI/SM01-1, ALI Lifing i Righ safey manual; ALI/ST-10 ALI Safey Tips card; ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2008, American Naional Sandard for Auomoive Lifs-Safey Requiremens for Operaion, Inspecion and Mainenance; ALI/WL Series, ALI Uniform Warning Label Decals/Placards; and in he case of frame engaging lifs, ALI/LP-GUIDE, Vehicle Lifing Poins/Quick Reference Guide for Frame Engaging Lifs. Shall esablish procedures o periodically inspec he lif in accordance wih he lif manufacurer s insrucions or ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2008, American Naional Sandard for Auomoive Lifs-Safey Requiremens for Operaion, Inspecion and Mainenance; and The Employer Shall ensure ha lif inspecors are qualified and ha hey are adequaely rained in he inspecion of he lif. Shall mainain he periodic inspecion and mainenance records recommended by he manufacurer or ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2008, American Naional Sandard for Auomoive Lifs-Safey Requiremens for Operaion, Inspecion and Mainenance. Shall display he lif manufacurer s operaing insrucions; ALI/SM 93-1, ALI Lifing i Righ safey manual; ALI/ST-10 ALI Safey Tips card; ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2008, American Naional Sandard for Auomoive Lifs-Safey Requiremens for Operaion, Inspecion and Mainenance; and in he case of frame engaging lifs, ALI/ LP-GUIDE, Vehicle Lifing Poins/Quick Reference Guide for Frame Engaging Lifs; in a conspicuous locaion in he lif area convenien o he operaor. Shall provide necessary lockou/agou means for energy sources per ANSI Z244.1-1982 (R1993), Safey Requiremens for he Lockou/Tagou of Energy Sources, before beginning any lif repairs. Shall no modify he lif in any manner wihou he prior wrien consen of he manufacurer. Shall esablish procedures o periodically mainain he lif in accordance wih he lif manufacurer s insrucions or ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2008, American Naional Sandard for Auomoive Lifs-Safey Requiremens for Operaion, Inspecion and Mainenance; and The Employer Shall ensure ha lif mainenance personnel are qualified and ha hey are adequaely rained in he mainenance of he lif. 16

TO RAISE THE LIFT WARNING! WARNING! To avoid personal injury and/or propery damage, permi only rained personnel o operae lif. Afer reviewing hese insrucions, ge familiar wih lif conrols by running he lif hrough a few cycles before loading vehicle on lif. Always lif he vehicle using all four adapers. NEVER raise jus one end, one corner, or one side of vehicle. Many specialy or modified vehicles canno be raised on a wo-pos frame engaging lif. Conac vehicle manufacurer for raising or jacking deails. TYPICAL LIFTING POINTS 1. Before Loading: Lif mus be fully lowered and service bay cleared of all personnel before he vehicle is brough on lif wih he arms (if used) se o he full drive-hru posiion. 2. Loading: Posiion arms under vehicle and posiion adapers a vehicle manufacurer s recommended lif poins. Use heigh exenders or opional frame-cradle adapers (if applicable) when necessary o ensure good conac. (See Fig 10.1) Fig. 10.1 3. Some vehicles may have he manufacurer's Service Garage Lif Poin locaions idenified by riangle shape marks on he undercarriage (reference ANSI/SAE J2184-1992). Also, here may be a label locaed on he righ fron door jamb area showing specific vehicle lif poins. 4. Posiion vehicle for proper weigh disribuion arms under vehicle o allow adapers /pads o conac a he manufacurer s recommended pick up poins. 18

5. If he specific vehicle lif poins are no idenified, or if he vehicle has addiional or uniquely posiioned payload, have a qualified person calculae he vehicle cener of graviy or have he vehicle cener of graviy deermined a a vehicle scale. Load he vehicle wih he ener of graviy midway beween adapers. 6. Se parking brake or use wheel chock o hold vehicle in posiion. Make sure vehicle is neiher fron nor rear heavy and selec he proper configuraion for he vehicle o be lifed as shown below. Cener of balance should be midway beween adapers and cenered over he lif. 19

7. Push he RAISE buon or roae he conrol swich on he power uni. Imporan Noe: Allow 2-seconds beween moor sars. Failure o comply may cause moor burnou. 8. Sop before making conac wih vehicle. Check conac poins. If required, slighly move arms or vehicle o allow resrain gear and pawl o mesh. 9. Raise vehicle unil ires clear he floor. 10. Sop and check adapers for secure conac a vehicle manufacurer s recommended lif poins. 11. Coninue o raise o desired heigh only if vehicle is secure on lif. 12. DO NOT go near or under a raised vehicle if all four adapers are no in secure conac wih vehicle a vehicle manufacurer s recommended lif poins. 13. Safe Lif Operaion Auomoive and ruck lifs are criical o he operaion and profiabiliy of your business. The safe use of his and oher lifs in your shop is criical in prevening employee injuries and damage o cusomer s vehicles. By operaing lifs safely you can ensure ha your shop is profiable, producive and safe. Safe operaion of auomoive lifs requires ha only rained employees should be allowed o use he lif. TRAINING SHOULD INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Proper posiioning of he vehicle on he runway. (See manufacurers minimize wheel base loading requiremens.) Use of he operaing conrols. Undersanding he lif capaciy. Proper use of jack sands or oher load supporing devices. Proper use, undersanding and visual idenificaion of safey lock devices and heir operaion. Reviewing he safey ips. Proper housekeeping procedures (lif area should be free of grease, oil, ools, equipmen, rash, and oher debris) A daily inspecion of he lif should be compleed prior o is use. All mainenance and repairs of he lif should be compleed by following he manufacurer s requiremens. Lif repair pars should mee or exceed OEM specificaions. LIFT OPERATION SAFETY I is imporan ha you know he load limi. Be careful ha you do no overload he lif. If conac wih he vehicle is uneven or i appears ha he vehicle is no siing secure, carefully lower he lif and readjus.
