Qualified athletes will be offered the opportunity to attend World Cup events, which will be at an additional expense to the athlete through the OWIA Australian Ski Cross Team. PROGRAM FEES For the 2015/2016 Northern Winter all athletes will be required to make a $5000.00 deposit in order to secure their place in the program. Payments for the winter have been broken into the following two categories: Fixed fees for the program will cover: Van rental Fuel Coach expense and salary Tolls/Ferry Gym access Ski tech Start wax Once all deposits have been received and numbers determined, the remainder of the fixed fee will be charged. The fixed fee will be calculated and prorated depending on the time an athlete is with the program. Additional Variable fee payments will be billed to athletes on a monthly basis. Variable fees - will be calculated based on actual cost and will be paid monthly. Variable fees will include items such as: Accommodation Lift tickets Race entry fees Misc. costs As the training and race schedule may vary due to snow conditions, athlete numbers and other unforeseen circumstances the variable fees will reflect any such changes. It is estimated that regardless of such changes the fixed fees will be around $2600 per athlete per month. The program aims to be run economically and will always endeavour to keep participant costs as low as feasible. The invoice for the variable fee will be sent out on the 1st of each month, the amount must be received by SSA by the 7th of the month. If payment is not received athletes will not be able

to train, travel or race with the team until payment is received. ATHLETE SERVICES Program fees include the servicing of all athletes skis in Slovenia by a ski tech 2-3 times over the duration of the winter. All strength and conditioning instruction will be provided by the Program Head coach who is a qualified Level 1 Australian Strength and Conditioning coach. Where physio is required services will be outsourced to either private practices or other team physios at additional cost to the athlete. All medical appointments and services will be at the cost of the athlete while travelling. It is recommended that athletes purchase travel insurance which covers these services. An AIS sports psychologist based in Melbourne will be available to all athletes via Skype at their own expense before and during the program. All athletes are encouraged to use this service. UNIFORM All athletes must have an Australian team uniform, such as a soft-shell or outer Jacket and team Race suit (old or new). These can be purchased from SSA see enclosed outer jacket order form. INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION All Program participants are required to be a current member of Ski & Snowboard Australia, have Alpine registration and have active Alpine and Freestyle (Ski Cross) FIS registration. If these have not already been arranged you can do so via the Ski & Snowboard Australia website (www. skiandsnowboard.org.au). To compete internationally in FIS sanctioned events it is a requirement of SSA to ensure that all Australian athletes entered have insurance that specifically covers competitive skiing and/ or snowboarding. SSA are able to provide a snowsports focused insurance policy with the additional cover for snowsports competitions. Prior to competing, athletes will also be required to purchase an International Competition License for their specific disicpline. This license is used when entering competitions overseas to ensure SSA athletes have the appropriate competition insurance and registrations. If alternative competition insurance is purchased (and proved to cover the athlete whilst competing) athletes must also confirm they have a current travel insurance policy for duration of the program. FLIGHTS It is the responsibility of the athletes to manage, pay and book all their own flights. If a specific time or date is requested by the coach, the athlete must book to arrive within a 3 hour window of that time, any longer than this and seperate transfers may need to be arranged. Please check with the program head coach before booking any flights. FURTHER INFORMATION The teams will train and travel with many other nations on the Europa Cup circuit. We especially have a good relationship with the Austrian Team, and will often have training camps together. At most training venues there will be other World Cup or Europa Cup teams, so there are plenty of opportunities to train up and evaluate the next level of competition. EQUIPMENT SHIPMENT SSA will be using a shipping container for all program equipment in Europe. Participants are welcome to use this service at their own cost. The cost to ship items in the container works out to be approx $7 per kilo. All skis should be shipped with all ski gear and tuning equipment on the date provided for by the Head coach. Alternatively athletes can take equipment with them on their flight however higher costs will be incurred. All athletes when ever flying must carry their Boots at all times.
