Sydney Olympic Park The area was called "The Flats" by a scouting party shortly after the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788. Much of the land was reclaimed from the river and wetlands by landfill to create the site of the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Parking choices
Ground entry costs All athletes free of charge. Entry tickets in with your sign-in pack. Other entry costs still TBA Sydney Track Classic. Entry to athletes free. Please check general admission costs. There was no charge Wednesday evening session last year. Venue access through main entry point where turnstiles are positioned
Team Seating Arrangements in Grand Stand Historically we have secured good grandstand positions. Look for Qld banner possibly midway up grandstand Sign in will be here. We will set up notice board area too Physios have also in the past, set up at top of stadium, away from high traffic areas.
Athletes MUST come to sign in area on your day 1 in grandstand. The sheer magnitude of the team, just under 500 athletes, will rule out daily sign in/sign out.
Uniform You MUST wear the Queensland Heat competition uniform. Other Heat uniform is optional Size Swaps / Returns (see QA office staff)
Warm Up Areas
Call Room CLOSURE All athletes are required in the Call Room. Failure to report at the appropriate time may result in disqualification Give Yourself 10 Minutes To Walk From The Warm-up Area, And Be Early! These are the closing times: NB these are 2014 so please check AA website - Pole Vault : 70 Minutes Prior - High Jump, Discus, Hammer & Javelin : 50 Minutes - Shot Put, Long & Triple Jump : 40 Minutes - Hurdles & Relays : 25 Minutes - All Other Track Events : 15 Minutes
Scratching & Clashes To scratch from an event you must see one of the Team Admin Managers ASAP and NO LATER THAN 90 mins prior to event start time. 2 hours for pole vault There WILL be consequences for your remaining events if you don t scratch. If you have a Clash of Events, please ensure you have seen Leanne/Shannon to collect the appropriate clash form. You must take this form with you to the call room. Call room officials will explain the procedure to get to the next event.

Field Events: Throws & Horizontal Jumps U/14 - U/16 3 trials, top 8 + 1 trial U/18 - U/20 3 trials, top 8 + 3 rev order
Trialling of new walks rule Athletics Australia advises that the new Pit Lane rule (explained in further detail below) will be implemented for the following race-walking events at the Australian Junior Championships; - U20 10000m Racewalk (Male & Female) - U18 5000m Racewalk (Male & Female) - U17 500m Racewalk (Male & Female) All other events will occur as per normal race-walking rule at this competition. The IAAF has recently decided that further trials of the new Pit Lane rule should be expanded, with a view to roll it out more extensively in future years. The principal objective of the new rule is reducing (if not eliminating) disqualifications altogether.

Relay Teams U/14 4 x 100 U/16 4 x 100 4 x 200 U/18 4 x 100 4 x 400 U/20 4 x 100 4 x 400 Selection is performance based. Legal times considered before wind assisted times. Relay training and warm up Where possible, an athlete can gain selection and win a relay spot, from performances at the Sydney championships. Relay teams MUST be submitted 2 hours prior to start time

2015 Commonwealth Youth Games Apia (SAMOA) 5-12 September 2015 To be considered for selection, athletes are required to complete an online nomination by Tuesday 17th March.
