Greeting Greetings; We re just 6-8 weeks away from the start of the 2018 golf season. I m already planning the tournament dates and locations for the year, and this year I could use your help and input. Golf Tournament attendance has been declining for BEGC for the last several years. The attendance is less than half it was just 10 years ago. There may be several factors such as changing demographics, retirements, economics, weekday alternatives, or personal/work obligations. The short survey below will help ensure that for those of us that do want to participate in BEGC tournaments, the tournaments meet your expectations and needs. The categories address the most common objections I hear. Please fill in the areas on attached where you have an opinion or advice, and reply with file to begcgolf@prodigy.net. If you prefer pencil and paper, then print the PDF and mail it to the address shown. Course Preferences courses close by tend to be either worn and/or more expensive. Conversely, driving a little may offer better turf and prices. Dates/Frequencies We have 6 tournaments a year. Is that too much? What about day of week? Weekends are busy and more expensive. AM more expensive than PM. Friday afternoons? Mondays - open up possibility of country club play Fees / Prizes Typically, we offer $50 with prize fund. Lower attendance leads to lower payouts and single flights. Would a higher rate be acceptable, $75, $100, to play a better course or increase payouts? Or keep rates the same, and focus on contests (skins, CTP, LD, GOY) and eliminate flight payouts. Adding/Increasing payouts or including food/beer services will drive up the entry cost. Pace of Play BEGC tournaments play 5+ hours for 18 on avg.
