editors note Hi snow loving humans perisher / FRI ST SAT ND SUN RD Possible snow shower -5 - Possible snow shower- Partly cloudy - 6 I m Sophie Darling and am a relatively new member to Dulmison! Our family joined in 6 much due to the persuasion of Brett Williams, so shout out to Brett! I have been skiing at Thredbo since the age of and am a real Thredbo loyalist. However, after a few weeks skiing in Colorado this past February I have discovered the wonders of the Epic Pass and so will be venturing to perisher for the upcoming season. I m currently studying to be a nurse with the hopes of one day working the Thredbo medical centre, so I ll be there to put you all back together after one too many schnapps on the mountain. I m not much of a writer and I am a terrible speller however I ended up here editing the dump, because why not?! I hope everyone has a wonderful winter season and if you see a girl lost in Perisher it s a high likelihood it will be me, so please give me a wave, hug or a snowball to the face as I will respond equally to all. Warm regards, Sophie Darling Hello there! thredbo 8/ FRI ST SAT ND SUN RD Mostly cloudy - Partly cloudy - Partly cloudy - My name is Pip Snelling and have been a member of Dulmison since. I have spent a fair bit of time at both lodges but I think my heart still lies with Perisher who can resist a ski in ski out lodge! I am a skier who did dabble in snowboarding once in Whistler not an experience I need to put myself through again... the bruises spoke for themselves. I have loved skiing in Colorado and Canada in recent years but nothing beats the home cooked meals and hospitality of our lovely lodge managers! I currently work as a Graphic Designer at an advertising agency in Sydney. I love designing and I love the snow so hopefully a good combination as Sophie and I take on looking after The Dump. I thoroughly hope you enjoy reading this year s editions please be kind in your feedback but also let us know if there is anything we can improve on! Hope to see you all on the slopes soon, Pip Snelling

+ lodge renovations by michael cook For those members and guests staying at the Lodges this coming season, you will see some of the ongoing improvements and maintenance work that has been carried out on the Lodges over the Summer months by the Lodge Committee. Those staying at Thredbo will see major works having been completed to the carpark at the Thredbo Lodge, with the retaining wall being rebuilt to comply with current standards. This has really lifted the overall façade of the Lodge, making parking easier and improving the deck area. Once inside, you will see the shared bathroom for rooms 5 & 6 has been renovated. The spa has been removed, new fittings, vanity cabinet and tiles have been installed, improving the functional layout and the amount of space in the bathroom. of high quality meals during the season. It is only fitting that we provide our Lodge Managers with the equipment they deserve to make their job just that little bit easier for maintaining the high standard of meals. After the major works undertaken at the Perisher lodge prior to last ski season, with new roofing, heating and carpeting, guests staying their this year will notice the addition of a new breakfast buffet and cabinet in the dining area. This will make the morning breakfast rush easier to navigate for both guests and the Lodge Managers. The Board and Lodge Committee are continually working on long-term lodge improvement and maintenance plans to ensure the lodges retain their high standard and remain functional for the Club throughout the year and many years to come. Further details of these improvements will be announced as they are developed and approved. In the kitchens for both the Perisher and Thredbo lodges we have installed new ovens and stovetops for the Lodge Managers use. This will assist our Lodge Managers to prepare the large number Members are encouraged to raise any suggestions or ideas they may have for Lodge improvements, with the Lodge Committee or Board for consideration. snow news snow forecast dump june With the opening weekend so close we can almost taste it, and last season being a late one thanks to the Blizzard of Oz, I m sure you are wondering what the 8 season is going to be like? The Daily Mail released an article claiming that Australia may be in for its coldest winter on record which will bring heavy snowfall! Weather expert David Taylor (Owner of Brisbane Weather & East Coast Weather) has forecast that temperatures could drop and snowfall be very high this season compared to previous year, and although these predictions were made back in March snow news is better than no news? A more recent update on the Mountain Watch website (see link below for continued updates and forecasts) shows some good snow falling through May. The Grasshopper predicts that there will be a fairly good start to the season and the possibility of a late Spring dump! Predicted to be a vanilla season as so far there is no major push or pull towards a good or bad season, so it is us to us to pray to the snow gods and goddesses to come through with a nice big dump!
