U5 Bear Cubs U5 Honey Vs Alaska Bears The U5 Honey Bears played a Premier League match today. The Alaska Bears didn t know what happened when Jonah scoring a goal in the first 2 seconds. Not long after Jonah scored another goal then a Jonah/ Oliver double for the next goal. Scott showed us how perfect a pass can be, straight to Oliver and he scored. Georgie dribbled the ball 3/4 the length of the field and scored her first goal for the season. Well down G. Olivia attacked strongly the whole game. Jarrod intercepted a shore thing by the Alaska Bears and save the goal then decided to turn it into points for us. Goal. Now it was Jarrod putting more points on the board. Goal. As if 1 wasn t enough, he scored again. Georgie wasn t happy with just 1 so she scored another goal. Great intuition by Paige throughout the game. The score was 9:2. But our STAR Achiever for the game was Jarrod. Well done team Honey Bears. U5 Atlas Vs Black Bears The Atlas Bears and Black Bears had a great game on Saturday, fast paced with some good goal scoring efforts by both teams. 4 out of the 6 Atlas bears players all scored a goal this week which was great to watch. U5 Basil v Cave This game was played hard by both teams with a list of injuries to prove it! The game opened with Rohshanth running the length of the field to score then getting the ball over the line twice more during the game. Lukas scored again for the Basils. Great goal defence by Jack including a diving save! Player of the match went to Louis for trying his best.

U6 Bear Cubs U6 Grizzly Vs Humphrey Bears The Grizzly Bears and Humphrey Bears played a hard fought match. The Grizzly bears attacking players Max and Donovan were again consistent with some impressive goals scored. The defence was strong also and although there was some good attempts by the Humphrey Bears, the Grizzly bears managed to keep the Humphrey bears scoreless. U6 Grey Vs Honey Bears The Grey Bears had another great game. This week the Grey Bears played against the Honey Bears. The Honey Bears played a better game and scored 4 goals to our 1. Isaac was named Player of the Match for his great kicking skills and enthusiasm. Well done Grey Bears on a fantastic effort!!!!!! U6 Humphrey vs Grizzly Bears This week was a very challenging game as the grizzly bears were a fantastic team. The Humphrey's were still able to display some great passing and defensive skills, however the grizzly bears were just too good. Good effort Humphrey's. U6 Mountain Vs Kodiak Bears Another great game for the boys with lots of good dribbling and shooting. It is good to see the practice we have done in training is paying off in the games. We had some good goals to Ranay Noah and Hamish and a great team effort. We will continue to work on passing in training to try to bring that into our game on weekends. Good effort boys. Man of the Match wen to Hamish for his great goal and team efforts.

U7 Bear Cubs U7 Red Vs Honey Bears With a mixture of boys trying to contain ants in their pants and some experiencing the serenity and wonder of Max Ruddock on a Saturday morning, the start of the game was a little bit slow. Pretty soon, the boys showed good poise to send passes towards team mates and attack well. The positioning was great early with the lads finding space. This changed a bit as the game unfolded and the plan to pass was at times an afterthought. They played really well throughout and had a lot of fun. Spencer collected the player of the match award for trying hard all game, leading to his best on field effort this season. Another pleasing week. U7 Cave Vs Basil Bears Facing into the sun there for the first half the cave bears were quickly on the chase as the Basil's pushed through for the first of 7 goals. A bustling run and pass combination from Zoe & Heath got us some forward momentum with Timmy getting some early chances on goal, but an turnover gave the Basil's their 2nd goal, before the Cave's stuck back through a good combination of passing from William to Thom and to Timmy who scored. We headed into the halftime break with the Basils getting their 3rd, with Alexander doing his best to chase down the speedy Basil bears. With our backs to the sun and fresh from the halftime break, we had some good play from Jake, Heath, Thom and William but the Basil's were just too fast racing away 3 quick fire goals. The team dug deep and Tommy made 2 breakaways but was forced wide of the goal on both occasions. Zoe took a deflection to have a shot on goal, but the ball just missed. Alexander also made some great saves to stifle the speed of the Basil's. The Basils got their 7th, but the team kept giving their all right until the bell, despite the margin. The team thanked the Basil's for a tough and fast game. Thomas got player of the match for his determination to keep the Cave bears moving forward all game. Despite the loss, the team were high in spirit and we got a team photo full of smiles at the end. U7 Kodiak Vs Humphrey Bears. This week the U7 Kodiaks played the U7 Humphrey bears and met some tough competition! The Humphreys controlled the ball in the first half scoring 3 goals. The Kodiaks took advantage of their training during the week and came back in the second half. They placed themselves well on the field. Good defending from Stephen helped his team mates to drive the ball towards the goal resulting in 3 Kodiak goals by Cooper. It was an exciting game from start to finish ending in a draw. Stephen Rowe was our team s player of the week. U7 Honey Vs Red Bears. The Red Bears were a highly skilled and drilled opposition which resulted in the game being all about 'good hustle'. And that we did! Well done to our boys for their persistence and determination in chasing down the Reds to try and gain possession or stop an attempt at goal. Congratulations to Axel for being awarded 'Player of the match' for his break away down the field and an attempt at goal, despite being defended by two players. His defensive game was also strong. The best part of being a Honey Bear... the boys finish the game smiling and excited about the next week.

U7 Hunting Vs Atlas Bears It was a lovely sunny morning for our game this week and both teams were ready for a fun game. The Hunting Bears are working very well as a team, continuing to improve their skills; passing the ball to each other and spreading out for better defence. While there were a couple of times the Hunting Bears almost scored a goal, the Atlas Bears were just too strong, with one player scoring the most unbelievably skilled goals! The Player of the Match was Jonah for the first time this season, rewarded for his focus and concentration this week. Well done boys! U7 Grey Vs Grizzly Bears Another good game for the Grey Bears this week with again the Coach's training showing through in the game. The players again spread out and managed some good passes. Damien showed some real hunger for the ball this week and managed a few shots at goals. Eshaan and Tyler also had a few great attacking runs. Good defence and field position from Claire and Ivy. Unfortunately Aaron was not able to play as he was sick and he was definitely missed. The Great Bears lead at the half time break, however a couple of late goals by the Grizzly s led to a draw at full time. End Result 3:3 draw. Player of the Match: Eshaan for his hunger for the ball" It was an exciting game with the Grey bears starting fast and getting out to an early lead. The Grizzlys found their rhythm soon enough and were able to claw their way back and tie up the game just before the fulltime bell went. Player of the match Arta Nourafshan. Great in attack. Finding space down the field with some clearing kicks and creating opportunities in attack.

U8 Bear Cubs U8 Moon Vs White Bears The Moon bears defeated the White bears 2-1 on Sat 3/6/17. It was a fantastic game, with both sides putting in a great effort and growing in confidence. U8 Basil Vs Red Bears Great performance today by the Basil bears who all were awake from the start of the game and went on to win 6-0. Player of the match went to Ben who scored a good early goal. Great goals today by Charlie who bagged 3 and Jerry who got 2, with a great pass by Angus to assist. Good work by Coen and Angus in goals, with good enthusiasm and chasing by Jack. U8 Honey Vs Black Bears The Honey bears had another great game, with Leonard being awarded player of the match, with his amazing fielding. The team is improving weekly with Emily saving some awesome goals in the second half, whilst battling a cold. Leonard was on good form as well during the first half in goals. Tom gave his best with controlling the ball and covering the field. Xavier had a few good runs with the ball and kept control with his passes. Kira is gaining confidence with controlling the ball and keeping the ball close. Noah also had a few good runs and looked where he was going. Jeremiah had some good kicks and is confident in passing the ball to team mates. Ryan is gaining confidence when on the field and is communicating with the team in order to get the ball moving forward. Liam had a good game, with a lot of ball passes and keeping the ball close. The team is focusing on small kicks and communicating with the rest of the team on the field. These skills are being developed and improved on a weekly basis during training. U8 Black Vs Honey bears Another really good game this week with both teams playing well and trying hard. Well done black bears! Our formation play is working well and giving us good structure and space, just remember to always get back and help out in defence. It was great to see some passing but also NAME calling when wanting and kicking the ball, We were working hard at this at training and we will all only get better at this with practice. The team was led by our Captain, Jaiden this week, who played well again. Thomas Binet and Sam did really well in goal, both not afraid to jump on the ball, allowing for some great saves. Great Goals this week from Tom Brackenreg and Jacob B, our consistent performers. Well done to Andre who kept getting back and helping in defence this week, making some great tackles through the whole game, awesome job! Our man of the match was Thomas Binet who not only played well in goal, keeping a clean sheet but was extra enthusiastic with moving and calling for the ball as we practised. As you all did and do every week never give up and keep on playing your best till the final whistle. It looks like you are all enjoying your football, which is great to see. Go Black bears
