We will be on the MS Sula, we depart and arrive via Tromso in the North of Norway. On the night of the 15 th those guests on the 6 day expedition, will stay at a hotel in Tromso (not included fx,smart hotel 310AED) and return back to the Sula the following day (transfers included) for the final 3 days. Tromso is considered the most Northern city in the world, and is known for it s woodeden houses, some dating as far back as 1789. Tromso is also one of the best locations in the world to witness the Northern lights, as it is situated in the middle of the amazing phenominem that is the aurora borealis. Surrounded by mountains the region has an active winter sports scene and we recommend you extend your trip by a few days, so you can explore this amazing region.
A typical day A typical day on board the Sula. Wake up at 07:30 am Breakfast at 08:00-08:30 am Boat leaves the harbour at about 09:00 am. We head out to the field seeking orcas. Sometimes we see the animals immediately and can start interacting with them. Other days we may need hours to find the orcas. When we find the orcas we move to the smaller boat to get closer to the action. On a normal day we are in the dinghy for 2-3 hours and then back to the Sula for hot soup, coffee and lunch. When it gets dark we go to the nearest bay or harbour and stay overnight. If somebody wants to do a night dive they can providing they are certified (dry-suit divers with minimum 30 dives with dry-suit) Dinner on board starts at 18:00 hrs. A time to relax together with the guests on the Sula or have a walk onshore and see the Northern Lights if conditions are good, or have a good time in the hot tub. On one evening we will go out for a boat trip with the hydrophone and listen to the sound of orcas.
iiji Who should join? Well, basically any person that loves the ocean. By the time of the trip, you just need to be: If diving in a dry suit, you require a minimum of 30 drysuit dives. Minimum age reccomended 12 We recommend that all divers should be diving with a redundant system, such as sidemount, twin sets or have a suitable ponybottle. We also recommend diver insurance, such as DAN. The water temperature is 3.7-5 degrees C that time of year, colder at depth. What do I do now? Now is also a good time to upgrade your dive bag gear, as you receive an amazing 20% discount on equipment for the trip and/or prior training (excludes Shearwater and O2ptima). Please enter your information clearly, along with and any special requests, such as scrubber, gas, equipment rental etc. There is also a section for flight information, transfer dates and times. In order for us to ensure this trip runs smoothly for you, please enter as much information as possible. There are only 12 spaces available for the 1 st 3 days, and 8 spaces for the 2 nd 3 days. Your space is reserved as soon as we have received the 50% deposit.
