Introduction 2015 Season Dear Member, The new season is nearly upon us and it brings with it new challenges for the 4 new elected captains of the Saturday league teams for season 2015. I would just like to thank the outgoing captains, Jim Gatting, Tim Royall, Andy Ward and Don Hubert, for all their hard work over the previous couple of seasons. We all know the section has had a tough couple of seasons, but with the young section that we have, it s all about looking forward and not back, get the right team spirit going early, support your mates on the field of play and that will go a long way to playing winning and enjoyable cricket. If we want to have a successful section again, we need to all be pulling in the right direction, making yourself available on a more consistent basis, getting down to nets on a Wednesday evening, play on a Sunday every now and again, and let s try and lay the foundations for moving this great club of ours back to where it belongs. Some notable changes for the coming season, Terry Braithwaite is the new Chairman of selectors and he will be ably supported by Andy Ward as team secretary. Selection will take place on a Monday night, so please make their jobs as well as the captains' easier, by making sure your availability is known once you have completed your game or games at the week-end.

Peter Richards is back managing the colts, so I would just like to say a big thank-you to Neil Innes for all the hard work that he has put in over the last 2 years and also a big thank-you to Peter for chairing the cricket section over that period and a big thank-you to the pair of them for running another successful winter program of nets for the colts at Ashmole school. In a break from how the section has been run over the last 10 years, we have not gone down the CDO route for the coming season, but Revolution will be running the colts for season 2015, overseen by Peter Richards. We do have an overseas player this year, Charlie Holmes from Kensington CC, Adelaide (Guy Saunders' old club), so please make him feel at home with a good old fashioned dose of WHCC hospitality. Our great club needs your support financially, so please pay your subscriptions on time, by the 1st May 2015, and pay your match fees on the day of the game, no excuses please! We have kept cricket subs and match fees at the same level for at least 6 years. Dates for your diary, Club force day, Sunday 12th April, this is a big day not just for our section but for YOUR club, please come along and support this day, there will be an inter-club game in the afternoon. Other dates for your diary, 26/4 1st round of the National v Harold Wood (A)and 1st round of the Middx Cup, 3/5 at home against Kay CC or Bessborough. Cricket week starts Tuesday 21st of July. We are also back in the Chess Valley Sunday League and along with the MDL, hopefully, this will raise the standard of Sunday cricket and encourage a greater number of players to play on a Sunday. Finally, it is with great sadness to report the loss of a great servant of the club, Bernard Avent, who supported the whole club, through the good times as well as the not so good, he will be badly missed. Here s to season 2015, let s hit the ground running, support your captains and most importantly, enjoy your cricket. Neal Avent (Chairman).

Team Selection I will be taking on a Team Secretary role this season to take some of the load off captains. All I need you to do is make sure that you either tell your captain your availability for the next weekend via the match envelope after the game ; or you tell me by 6pm Monday, preferably by email (bonified66@googlemail.com) or phone (07884183286). All of the weekend's teams (Saturday and Sunday) will be selected on the previous Monday evening. It is your responsibility to make sure we know your availability! Regards, Andy Ward (Team Secretary)

WHCC Colts 2015 Subscriptions there are no changes to the subscription fees from 2014 ; they remain at 120 for the season and there will be NO match fees. A sibling policy exists with subscriptions available at 100 for the second child and 80 for the third. In addition, for managers and coaches supporting the club there is a 20% discount for their children on subscriptions. Payment by cheque (to WHSC) welcome. Winchmore Hill Colts Cricket 2015 Season Training Starts: U9-11s: Tuesday evenings from 14th April to 15th July, 6pm to 8pm. U12-15s: Monday evenings from 13th April to 14th July, 6pm to 8pm. U8s: Sunday mornings from 26th April to 13th July, 10am to 11.30am. Colts Communications All known fixtures, information about summer camps, link to clothing store and overall updates of what is happening in the cricket section of WHSC can be found on our website at www.com. Cricket Camps After the phenomenal success of last season's Cricket Camps, we have another 3 weeks lined up in 2015. Dates to be announced soon.

2015 SUBSCRIPTIONS Cricket subs are due BY THE 31st OF MAY. The Committee has agreed to hold the 2015 subs at 2014 levels as long as they are paid before 31st May 2015. Subs paid before 31st May 2015 Senior 150 Intermediate 100 Subs Paid after 31st May 2015 Senior 175 Intermediate 120 Intermediates are from the ages of 18-22 as well as Students and the Unemployed, so that will include Under 17s moving up into adult cricket. Anyone who has paid subs for another section (football, tennis etc) gets a 20 discount. Please make this clear when paying so this can be verified across the sections. Players who have not paid their subs by May 31st will risk not being selected to play for the club. Players with outstanding subs from 2014 will not be permitted to use club facilities at all until these are paid. We would like players to be aware that membership fees and match day subs barely cover the basic matchday and practice costs of teas, scorers, umpires, coaching, equipment and affiliation fees. They do not cover the costs of the groundsman, ground maintenance and club facilities (these are covered by Special Efforts such as raffles and social nights, Lettings and Donations). As such, membership fees are not excessively priced and should be thought of in the same way as you would think of membership at a gym or golf club. You wouldn't be able to use their facilities without paying, and the same applies here. TWO WAYS TO PAY ACTION NOW 1. Bank Transfer - do it over the internet from the office or home Account Name - Winchmore Hill Cricket Club Cricket Subs a/c Sort Code 40-07-32 Account Number 31106120 In the payment reference section, type 'CRICKET' then your 'FULL NAME' so we

can track that you have paid. 2. Cheque Make cheques payable to WHSC (Winchmore Hill Sports Club) and on the back of the cheque write 'Cricket Subs Account' and send to c/o Chris Haslam, WHCC Treasurer, The Paulin Ground, Ford's Grove, Winchmore Hill, N21 3ER We also recommend that you inform your team captain when you have paid membership subscription. Social Events We will be running our usual program of Socials and Events throughout the 2015 season. Dates are yet to be announced, but don't forget the traditional season curtain-raiser on the first day of the League season, that's Saturday 9th May! Please remember that Social Events cover many of the expenses required for ground maintenance and upkeep of club facilities, so do give them your full support!

Our Sponsors and Supporters Sponsorship plays an important part for both cricket and the club, as they represent the community in the area. Some of our sponsors have children who play for the club, and know the true value of the benefits it brings to their family. It also represents loyalty to our members. We would hope it will encourage you all to use the services of these companies who are prepared to invest in the future of the club. We thank all of our sponsors for their continued support throughout 2015.
