Team Check-In Form Directors and Coaches: Wave and Pool play start times can be found on the website www.palmbeachjrs.com. Pool play times will be posted Wednesday, May 2, 2018 by 8:00 PM. For this tournament you may use an online checkin or onsite checkin 1 hours prior to your wave start time. Please print and email this form along with your Signed WEBPOINT ROSTER. WEBPOINT ROSTER must meet all criteria set in AES for tournament specifications. All coaches must be IMPACT AND SAFESPORT certified. Chaperones can assist and must be on the roster for the team, however wristbands are not issued for chaperones. A maximum of 3 wristbands per team will be allowed and no duplicates will be given. Club directors may obtain a wristband after showing proper credentials. Wristbands are for the 2day event. Lost or torn wristbands are replaced for a $10 charge. Online check-in must be received by Thursday, May 3, 2018, by 12:00 Noon. Wristbands will be waiting for you at your playing venue Saturday morning. NO COOLERS, FOOD OR DRINKS ARE TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE BROWARD COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER Coolers that are found in the Broward County Convention Center will be confiscated and held until the end of your pool play. Water bottles with water only will be allowed at courtside. No food or drink will be allowed on or by the sport courts.
2018 FORT LAUDERDALE VOLLEYFEST GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION ADMISSION $12 single day and $20 for weekend PARKING $3 0-1 hour $6 Up to 5 hours ($1 per hour thereafter up to daily maximum) $15 Daily maximum $19 Daily maximum for oversized vehicles Fees are per entry, based on each 24-hour period The tournament is broken down into 2 parts for all divisions. Preliminary pool play and elimination playoffs. All play will be match play best 2 out of 3 games. Games 1 & 2 will be rally score to 25 with no cap. If required, game 3 will be a 15 point rally score game with no cap. The third game is only played if needed to decide the match. Teams will switch sides at 8 points in the third game. THREE TEAM POOLS Some 3 team pools will play 3 games to 25. The 3 rd game must be played. Some 3 team pools have crossover matches that will count for seeding. These matches are 2 out of 3. AWARDS 1st and 2 nd place teams in Gold will receive a medals. 1 st and 2nd place medals will be awarded for Silver and Bronze Divisions. MATCH AND FORFEIT TIMES The FIRST MATCH of any round or wave will not begin before its' scheduled time. Within a wave, a round may be advanced no more than ten (10) minutes from the scheduled starting time. The last round of the wave may be advanced more than the specified 10 minutes if all participants are in agreement (includes both playing teams, and the officiating team). The forfeit time for the first game will be 10 minutes following the scheduled starting time. The forfeit time for the next game will 15 minutes later.
WARM-UP There will be no shared hitting during warm-ups For all matches of the pool the warm-up time will be 2-4-4. 2 minutes for shared ball handling, 4 minutes for the serving team to have the entire court and 4 minutes for the receiving team to have the entire court. Serving must be done during the time that each team has the court. OFFICIATING RESPONSIBILITIES Each team is responsible for: 1 second official. 2 linespersons, 1 official scorekeeper, 1 libero scorekeeper, and 1 visible Scoreboard keeper. Failure to provide officiating for your next assigned match could result in a forfeit of the first game of your next match. For every minute your officiating team is late, 1 point is given to the opponent in your match, up to 25-0 forfeit. No more than 25 points will be awarded to the team's next opponent, even if the team designed to officiate misses the entire match. The clock begins at the end of warm up. The second offense will result in the loss of your next match. Pool play assignments - The work team for each pool will be designated within the pool schedule. Elimination bracket assignments - Teams who will officiate in the first round on the same court on which they are to play will be outlined in the bracket. The losing team will remain on their court to officiate the next match unless a specific team has been assigned to ref. Teams, who leave early and do not officiate the next elimination bracket match, may jeopardize their entry into future tournaments and receive sanctions from Region Office.. ALL TIES WILL BE SETTLED BY THE TOURNAMENT DESK Using set percentage and point percentage. No tie breaker matches PROTEST PRECEDURE If a protest is to be filed it must be done at the time of the incident, no later. Only the floor captain may file a protest. The protest must be written on the score sheet by the scorer or official and must be signed by both the floor captain and the referee. The protested game will be completed but before the next game begins the protest must be ruled upon. A protest cannot be filed after the completion of the match. Judgement calls may NOT be protested.
RESULTS AND INFORMATION ALL POSTING WILL BE DONE AT THE Broward County Convention Center. Also the division will be updated on the Palm beach Juniors website. BEFORE LEAVING THE SITE BE SURE TO CHECK CAREFULLY YOUR POSITION IN THE POOL. IF IN DOUBT, WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT POSTING. SITE DIRECTOR WILL NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR MISCOMMUNICATIONS OR SCHEDULE INTERPRETATIONS. THE OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT POSTING AT THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION CENTER IS THE ONLY SOURCE WHICH WILL BE CONSIDERED SHOULD A DISPUTE ARISE. COACHES MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOU GO ON SUNDAY It is each team's responsibility to determine their Saturday finish and to report to any officiating responsibilities that they may have prior to their scheduled play on Sunday. Failure to report to your appropriate court on Sunday will carry the penalties outlined in the officiating responsibilities.
