For one there are downloadable forms for our members only yearly contests (Big Bird (Pheasant, Turkey & Goose), Big Fish and Whitetail (Big Deer and Most Impressive Rack)). There are also helpful links to INDNR, ILDNR and an all state listing of DNRs. The calendar will tell all that s currently going on in the way of contests, events and the like. If you haven t already, visit www.lakecountyfishandgame.org to see what s new. You can simply click on the banner at the top of this newsletter to go to our website. PARK IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY Remember to park only in designated areas. Ruts in the grass, off the road, cause damage to our mowers.

"LIKE" US ON FACEBOOK Lake County Fish and Game now has our own Facebook page. search "Lake County Fish and Game" on Facebook and like our page. You can check out current goings on and post your "bragging phots". All posts are subject to approval of the administrators of the page. Thanks to Tim Stevenson for putting this together. It's also a place where you can find "After only a couple days of approved ice for icefishing we are already finding garbage and cigarette butts left on the ice. We as a private club take pride in having clean grounds. Please help us keep our grounds clean. This is unacceptable as members to Lake County fishing game thank you. Lakes committee WHAT PART OF "TAKE OUT WHAT YOU BRING IN" DON'T YOU PEOPLE UNDERSTAND?! THE FLOOR DRAIN IN THE BOARDROOM HAS BEEN PLUGGED. DON T POUR ANYTHING IN IT! SCHOLARSHIP FUND Winners of this year s scholarship have been announced. We had two applicants successfully meet all the criteria for applying. They were recommended by The Legacy Foundation (who oversees the administration of the scholarship) and approved by our Board of Directors. The two successful applicants are: Lindsey Forbes and Matthew Michel. Lindsey is a repeat scholarship winner having been one of two successful applicants of last year s inaugural award. These two will split the $2,000.00 fund receiving $1,000.00 each. Congratulations Lindsey and Matthew! We, at Lake County Fish and Game, are very proud of this program. It not only meets our need for education to maintain our tax-exempt status, but also enhances the education opportunities of deserving individuals. By the way, we did have more than two applicants, some did not complete the application process and others asked for an extension of the application deadline. Let me be clear. This is not some bleeding heart, liberal, everyone gets a trophy type program. The Legacy Foundation oversees and administers the selection process for a reason, and rules are rules. If you can t abide by the rules then you can t win. Again, congratulations to Lindsey and Matthew and good luck in continuing your education. SPRING SPORTING CLAYS SHOOT Lake County Fish and Game will host a sporting clays shoot June 10th at Oakwood Gun Club (11388 N. SR 10, Wheatfield, IN 46392 (219) 956-4615). The Club is located one-half mile south of SR 10 on SR 49.

The cost is $45 per gun which includes a 100 target shoot, lunch and refreshments afterwards as well as prizes and awards. Awards will be made on a Lewis Class basis which includes A, B and C classes. An optional Lewis Class cash pot will also be available. Registration will begin at 9:00 AM with shooting to start at 10:00 AM. For more information please call Don Jones at (219) 844-2758 or Connie Dembowski at (219) 365-0951. TAKE A KID OUTDOORS EVENT Lake County Fish and Game is planning a Take a Kid Outdoors event for June 24th from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM at our property. The event is free and open to the public. Lake County Fish and Game will supply bait for all kids and they ll enjoy a free lunch (adults will be charged a nominal fee for lunch). ATTENTION GREAT LAKES FISHERMEN ATTENTION: Great Lakes Smallmouth anglers please be on the lookout for lip tagged smallmouth. If you happen to catch one, please leave the tag in place, record the following and then release the fish. The info you need is the length, weight, tag number and approximate location of catch. This will help our biologist track the movement of the Great Lakes Smallmouth population. You can report the info on the DNR website, or get the info to your regional fisheries biologist. Please share with all of your fellow Great Lakes Smallmouth anglers. Thank you and have a great day everyone!! ANOTHER MEMBERSHIP AXED We have lost another member to rules violations. This member decided to relinquish his membership rather than appear before the Board of Directors to explain his actions. We are proud of what we have built here at Lake County Fish and Game and are serious about enforcing our rules. Our rules are common sense and easy to follow. We have zero tolerance for rules violations and members will be held accountable. You should have received a copy of our rules upon joining our organization, but if you need a copy they are available from Ray Cooper. ANNUAL CLUB PICNIC The date of this year s annual Family Club Picnic is July 29th. The picnic is open to all members and their immediate family. Immediate family is defined as spouses (or significant others), minor children and/or grandchildren. The club will be supplying the usual picnic fare, tableware, beverages and fun! The menu has not yet been announced, but you can be sure it will be good! You are encouraged to bring a dish to share. This is not a requirement for attendance, but each year we are blessed with a veritable plethora of sumptuous salads and delicious desserts. There will bean bags to toss, horse shoes to pitch and games for the kids. Come out and enjoy the day with fellow club members. You may meet some old friends or make new ones!

The cost is free and it runs from noon til 5:00 PM. KEEP JULY 29th OPEN FOR THE CLUB PICNIC! 2017 Lake County Fish and Game Protective Assn. 2000 East Main st Griffith 46319 Web Version Forward Unsubscribe
