Week 3 Game Recaps: NDW_No Dead Weight over Show Me Your Kicks 2-1 On paper this match up was too close to call and the game itself played out much the same. Before a pitch was thrown, team captains Shane and Tom managed to go 12 rounds of Rock Paper Scissor to determine the home team. NDW was feeling confident with their hard throwing pitcher Kerry on the mound. SMYK struck first with some great bunts to load the bases and a well placed bloop that fell in between the pitcher and 2nd base to score a run. NDW got plenty of runners on base, but failed to capitalize in the first 2 innings. In the bottom of the 3rd NDW loaded the bases with no outs and managed to put a run across on an infield single. As the game wore on Kerry settled into a grove and proved to be harder to hit in the later innings. SMYK went to the bullpen for the 4th inning and NDW quickly jumped on the new pitcher and loaded the bases. NDW got the job done driving in the winning run but failed to add more due to a bit of controversial umpiring. NDW locked it down in the top half of the 5th to seal the win and stay undefeated in what was an all around exciting game. submitted by NDW Last week marked a marquee matchup between SMYK and NDW, many believed this would be a great game, and a great game it was. SMYK got on board early scoring in the top half of the first with a 1-0 lead. Runs would be very scarce as both teams displayed great D. In the bottom of the 3 rd inning with the bases loaded NDW were able to push their first run across tieing the game at 1-1, and in the bottom of the 4 th with the bases loaded NDW pushed across their 2 nd, and what would prove to be the game winning run. submitted by SMYK A B C Shot Gun, Bang defeated by We ve Got the Runs a lot to 2 Shot Gun, Bang s rookies are getting the hang of this game we call kickball. The first few innings of the game against WGTR was pretty close, with WGTR up 3-2 SGB was amped to be holding them. Then SGB had the inning that we all dread.that one inning that kills the game for your team. We couldn t hold it together and WGTR scored a bunch. We re not sure the final score, but we don t really care. The SGBs headed to the bar and were able to capture the number one spot on the bar leader-board. D F
Game Recaps Continued... Off Constantly Beats Balltastic Voyage 3-1 The gang in gray again proved that it isn t easy to beat Off Constantly with a 3-1 victory over Balltastic Voyage at Pickle Park. After surrendering a run in the top of the 1 st, the OC D buckled down and rode the arm of ace pitcher Todd Frostdick for four consecutive scoreless innings which included a strike out, looking. Captain Tim Lawson evened the score in the bottom of the second with a long home run to an undisclosed part of the field so the rest of you guys don t know where to play him. OC pushed across a couple of more runs in a couple of different innings. Not really sure when, but I guarantee it happened. The final out was recorded on Chris Smith s Willy Mays style over the shoulder catch at first base. Several cheese burglar pizzas were crushed post-game, including one with candles to celebrate Co-Captain Sal s 45 th birthday. Several hundred beers lost their lives as well. submitted by Off Constantly The Balltastic Voyage were unable to beat Off Constantly and suffered their first loss of the season. Crystal Ball & Magic 8 team up Best Ever Mid Season Week 4 Predictions. With Special Guest Magic 8 Ball: Will Show My Your Kicks Beat Off Constantly? 8 Ball: Reply Hazy- try again. Off Constantly are coming off of a big win against Balltastic, and SMYK are coming off of a heartbreaking loss to NDW, last year this was a battle till the end, ending in a tie, but both sides have added talent to their squads. Look for this to be a defensive battle and a fun game to watch. In the end Shaker says SMYK prevails with a 5-2 victory. Will No Dead Weight defeat We ve Got the Runs? 8 Ball: Is it decidedly so. NDW are coming off of a week where they narrowly escaped defeat against SMYK, and The Runs had no trouble last week, but look for NDW to get back to their scoring ways as they cruise past The Run 9-1. Can Blue load the bases against That s What She Said? 8 Ball: As I see it, Yes. Bases are loaded came away last week with a big tie against VD and now look to keep their season perfect by playing that s what she said, I don t see any kind of struggle by Bases are loaded as they roll 7-1 Can Shot Gun, Bang keep Buzzed Again from scoring? 8 Ball: Outlook not so good. Buzzed again are coming off of their first two wins of the season, and shot gun bang are looking for their first, unfortunately Shot gun will have to wait for another weak as Shaker predicts Buzzed again will keep on rolling with a 6-3 victory. Can VD defeat BV? 8 Ball: Maybe VD have struggled the past two weeks, and its not getting any easier, standing in their way of a much needed W is Balltastic Voyage, who lost a nail biter last week. We know BV can play D, but Shaker is predicting VD get back to their old ways with a 7-3 victory. Can Bases Loaded capitalize on a double header to put up two Ws? 8 Ball: Signs point to Yes. This will be the second game of the night for bases are loaded, and just like the first I don t see a struggle, Bases have solid D and a good offense that will be showcased in the night cap, Shaker s prediction: 13-1 GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS THIS WEEK!
The weather has quickly changed from Summer to Fall! The 80 degree temps of Week 2 are only a memory now. Dress appropriately as this mid season game night ushers in the Fall air. CLEATS! Safety and performance in one- the grass will be wet save yourself and the score by wearing the proper footwear! Long Sleeves under your Kickball Tshirt: Remember, you must be wearing your regulation WAKA T to play in games. Wear your team colors proud, but be prepared for it to cool off quick when you re chillin on the bench. Jacket in case of rain. Remember, we re hardcore. We play rain or shine.
