My Favourite Chinese Traditional Building 4A Wendy Kwan The name of my favourite Chinese traditional building is Tsui Sing Lau Pagoda. The building is in Ping Shan, Yuen Long. It is a three storey green brick building. This hexagonal shaped pagoda has more than 600 years of history and is the only surviving ancient pagoda in Hong Kong. I choose this building out of all fascinating Chinese traditional buildings in Hong Kong because the pagoda was declared a monument and should be preserved as a heritage.

4A Bernard Lau (17) My Favourite Sport My favourite sport is riding on the scooter. Dad bought a scooter as my birthday present when I was six years old. I am both relaxed and excited when I ride on the scooter. It is really fun. I always ride the scooter with my parents at weekends. Sometimes I do it with my friends. I put on my sports wears and trainers to ride on the scooter. I always want to ride it. I love riding on the scooter very much. I want to join a scooter competition and win it. I want to be a tutor and teach young children how to ride the scooter when I grow up. Riding on the scooter is a very good sport.

Then, I study with my tutor at home. I study hard for one and a half hours. I think it is boring. After the lesson, we have afternoon tea together. We eat chicken sandwiches and drink orange juice. In the evening, I play Chinese chess with my father. I am down after the games, because I am always the loser. I can have my favorite food and play my favorite games at weekends. So I think my weekends are interesting and fun.

A Rainy Day 4B Wong Gi Wan Gigi Mary and her family stayed at home last Sunday. Mary s father was reading newspapers. Mary asked her father to take her to the beach. They planned to go to the beach and swim. Suddenly, it started raining heavily. Mary was very sad and disappointed. Mary s father wanted his daughter to be happy, so he thought of a new plan. It was playing card games. Mary and her mother liked this idea. They played card games happily. At the end, Mary won the game. Although Mary could not go to the beach, playing with her parents at home was exciting.

Outdoor Activities 4B Chan Ka Fai Henry My favourite outdoor activity is playing football game. I play with classmates and friends. We play the football games in playgrounds and football fields. I go to the playground and football fields on foot. I play it once a week. I feel excited and happy because it is fun and interesting. I won in five contests. I felt happy and excited. I lost in one contest but I was not discouraged. When I finish the football games, I am hungry. My friends are hungry too. We eat biscuits and ice-creams. We drink the soft drinks and water. We go home at night. I am always tired.

Outdoor Activities 4B Wong Gi Wan Gigi My favourite outdoor activity is going hiking. I go hiking every Sunday. I go hiking on different mountains or hiking trails. I get there on foot or by minibus. I go there with my family and my cousins. I like hiking because it can improve my health. Also, I think walking in natural environments is enjoyable. There are beautiful views. I can take many wonderful photos there. Besides that, I also like swimming. This outdoor activity is relaxing and exciting because I can float on the water. My parents sometimes bring me to the beaches or swimming pools. Swimming is good to my health so I like it.

School Activities 4B Cheung Yuet Carson I take part in many school activities. I join the Speech Festival and I learn to speak with confidence. I run in games and sometimes win first place. Although I get awards, I would not be proud. We listen very carefully in English class when the teacher explains the story with is fun. At the Christmas Party, we eat and chat and we are really happy. On School Outing Day, our teachers take us to the museum to learn. We also go on school picnic. School activities are fun.

School Activities 4B Fu Mei Sho Iris I take part in many school activities. I enjoy sports competition. We do training at the sports ground. On Sports Day, the teachers arrange all student spectators and athletes to go to the sports ground to watch the games. Everyone cheers. I can learn in the game that friendship comes first. My favourite activity is Christmas Party because I can chat with my classmates, play games and eat. I feel interested and excited when I do this activity. I think this day is the happiest.

School Life 4B Cheung Yuet Carson I enjoy my school life very much. There are many subjects in school. I lots of fun. I like PE lessons because I can run, play badminton and play football. I feel excited and have fun. I like computer lessons too. I can learn the skills to operate a computer. It is fun too. But there are some difficulties. I am weak in the English Language but I often try to answer questions. I like to read in the library because it is quiet and I can learn a lot there. I am very grateful to the teaching of the teachers.

I learn Chinese, English, Mathematics, General Studies, etc. PE is my favourite subject because sports can make us physically strong. I learn painting in the school s extracurricular time. Miss Tsui is my favourite teacher because when we do things that we should not do, she would tell us the reason, listen to us and tell us to stop doing wrong things.

5A Lam Pui Chi, Lily 11 A Journal - A Basketball Match Today my basketball team had a match with the basketball team at Ben s school. At first, I played well and scored two goals. My teammates also played well. Sam had good blocking skills. He always blocked the ball and passed it to us. I quickly shot and helped to score three goals. Suddenly, Sam fell and got injured. He twisted his ankle so a substitute took his place. After that, we could not score any goals. Finally, Ben s team scored many goals and won the game. My teammates and I felt very depressed and unhappy. After this match, I learn that I should try hard and never give up if my teammates get injured. Life is not about winning. Winning or losing is not important but we should keep a good teamwork and team spirit all the time.

5A Tsang Hee Yi, Abby 27 It was the best day for me. My team had a basketball match with the basketball team at Ben s school. It was exciting. I felt so nervous. At first, I did not play well. Yet he other team could play very skilfully. And my teammates played very hard to block the ball. My teammates blocked the basketball and passed the ball to me. When I was shooting the basketball, I fell down carelessly. I got injured and felt painful. Luckily, my teammates caught the basketball and shot it at once. Finally my team won the game. I was very happy and excited. I learned that team work is very important. We should cooperate well with our team members.

A Night with Kitty By 5D Anna Wong Sin Yu 22 nd April, 2013 Sunny Last night, I was alone at home with Patsy s cat. Her name was Kitty. I did homework at six o clock. Kitty slept next to my chair. She was so noisy. At dinner time, I fed her with some cat food and milk. She was so hungry and careless that she made the floor messy. After dinner, she was running round in the house when I was watching TV. In the end, she jumped onto the cupboard and knocked down a vase. It was my mother s vase. I was so scared that my mother would be unhappy. Then Kitty was quiet and went to sleep. Finally, my mother returned home. Although she saw her vase was broken, but she did not punish me. She forgave me and she said, Don t worry. I always love you!

At first, I did not play very well, and then I was getting better and better. Although m team tried very hard, they did not score any points. After that, I passed the ball to Hugo and Hugo shot it into the basket. It was so wonderful that my mother came to watch the match. I was so happy. Finally, my school team won the match. I was tired. 6D Cheuk Ming Kei (Hunter) The person I admire Mother Teresa was born on 27 th August, 1910 in Ottoman Empire s Skopie. Mother Teresa joined a Catholic charity organization when she was twelve years old. Mother Teresa always went to help poor people. In 1990, she served as a principal in a religious school. Though she was busy, she always went to the poor countries and helped the people there. In 1979, Mother Teresa was honored by winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Mother Teresa passed away in September of 1997 at the age of 87.
