Turner School Fete 2018 Welcome all as we prepare for the fun of this year s Turner School Fete! The date for your calendars is Saturday 27 October 2018, 10 am to 2 pm. There s going to be old favourites and some new ones so read on and get ready for some family fun! This year s theme is INNOVATE and COLLABORATE. Please contact this year s fete coordinator Steve Paton, stevepaton76@gmail.com, if you have any questions or ideas. Cake Stall Cake Decorating Stall Adopt-A-Teddy Stall Our cake stall was a great success last year and all families of Turner School students are again invited to bake cakes, slices, biscuits, cupcakes, muffins etc. to be sold on the cake stall at this year s fete. While cupcakes and slices sell well, there is always a greater demand for large, single cakes. It s on again -yummy, yummy cake decorating. Kids come along and decorate a cup-cake and then eat it! We are looking for any cake decorating donations. On the day, we are also looking for donations of plain cupcakes to decorate. Contact me! Convenor: Sara Quinn saraquinnpsychology@gmail.com Teddies looking for love Unwanted soft toys at home? Is there ever such a thing? Give them a new life, donate them to the Adopt-A-Teddy Stall! Convenor: Jacqui Uhlmann jacquilhmann@iinet.com.au So if you are a baker and enjoy cooking, please start thinking about what you might bake. Convenor: Diane Jones dianejones@netspeed.com.au Saturday 27 October 2018 from 10 am to 2 pm Turner School Fete Newsletter 1 September 2018 1

White Elephant Stall Pigs might fly but our White Elephant Stall is firmly on the ground on fete day. Turn your old household and kitchen items into cash for Turner School! The White Elephant stall has something for everyone. We will be bigger and better in 2018 and accepting donations of saleable items soon. De-clutter your way to happiness this spring. No car seats or broken items please. Donation details, including where to drop off items will be in the next fete newsletter. Plant Stall The famous Turner Plant Stall keeps growing and will be back bigger and better in 2018! If you're a keen gardener, now is the time to start potting up small plants and seedlings so that they're ready to go in October. Our best sellers are native plants, tomatoes, other vegetable and herb seedlings, berries, flowering plants and succulents. Not a green thumb? We'd love to receive donations of bags of potting mix or vouchers from Bunnings so that we can buy potting mix. Donations of pots are also very gratefully accepted. Convenor: Contact: Warrick Doherty warrick_doherty@yahoo.com.au Craft Stall Curry & Chilli Stall Sausage Sizzle Time to get creative for the Craft Stall. We re seeking a stall coordinator, donations of anything handmade: Jewellery, magnets, heat packs, scarves, Xmas decorations, keyrings, headbands, aprons, tea towels, hairbands, library bags, dress up accessories, bags, soaps, bunting, pin cushions, brooches and pencil cases. The chilli and curry stall celebrates the diversity of the Turner community through fabulous food. Got an amazing secret curry to share? Or do you make a great chilli con carne for nachos? I would love your contribution of a slow cooker full of something warming and delicious! Convenor: Shiwani Attri Contact: attrishwani@gmail.com A fete is not a fete without a Sausage Sizzle! Helpers required for set up, cooking, money taking, serving and packing away. Put those multi-tasking skills to use! Convenor: Nathan Richards Turner School Fete Newsletter 1 September 2018 2

Convenor: Contact: Dara Williams darawilliams71@gmail.com Handful of Fun - Multi Tickets Why buy a multi-ticket? They will be available for purchase during the two weeks leading up to the fete and on fete day from the Ride Ticket stall. Terms of sale: No refunds, drink is a fruit box Turner School Fete Newsletter 1 September 2018 3
