UQ Sport Tennis Centre The UQ Tennis Club is based at the UQ Sport Tennis Centre, Blair Dr, St Lucia. The Tennis Centre, operated by UQ Sport for The University of Queensland, is one of the best Tennis facilities in Queensland. It consists of 21 floodlit courts (4 Laykold Cushion, 15 Laykold and 2 Omnicourt). The UQ Tennis Club has a range of competitive and non-competitive Tennis programs designed to cater for players of all standards and with varying time commitments

There will be no Sunday Social Tennis on 11, 18 & 25 December and 1 January (Christmas & New Year Break) Social Tennis is a great way to have a game in a relaxed and friendly environment without the pressure or commitment of Fixtures and Tournaments

Non-Competitive Tennis (non-members welcome) PRACTICE SESSIONS 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday Nights* Improve Your Game * In 2017, Practice will move from Tuesdays (8-10 p.m.) to Wednesdays (7-9 p.m.) Drills are run on different courts, covering all aspects of the game including forehand, backhand, volley, serve and overhead. Players rotate through all the drills during the night. No pre-registration is necessary. Just check in on the night on the Clubhouse verandah. The cost is $8 per session for UQ Tennis Club Ordinary, Associate & Junior Members or $12 for all others. Suitable for all levels - beginner to advanced. This is not a coaching program but provides a great opportunity for players who are being coached to hit lots of balls. Parking fees apply until 9 p.m. on week nights on the UQ St Lucia campus. N.B. There will be no Practice Sessions on 13, 20 & 27 December and 4 January (Christmas & New Year Break) The Practice Sessions are a great way of working on those shots that have always troubled you or regaining some confidence after a long lay-off

TO 9 P.M.) Entries to play for the UQ Tennis Club in BNTA Wednesday Night Summer Fixtures close on 15 December Competition starts 4 January, finishes 8 March. N.B. 2017(1) Season Fixtures start in mid March. Fixtures on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday* and Thursday nights. * Brisbane Night Tennis Association (Brisbane-wide Fixtures) UQ Tennis Club (Fixtures on UQ St Lucia Campus) Membership/Fixtures application forms available from the UQ Tennis Clubhouse or download from http://www.uqtc.org.au. Entries can also be lodged on-line. Fixtures are graded teams competitions played at a fixed time over many weeks. Fixtures are great for regular competition but players have to commit for a full season.

Competitive Tennis (members & non-members) TOURNAMENTS Playing in a tournament is a great way of getting a competitive game of Tennis. Most of the Club s tournaments are participation-style tournaments (not knock-out events). Only the Annual Club Championships and the University of Queensland Championships use knock-out formats for all events. The University Open Championships use knock-out formats for the Australian Ranking Points events but include participation-style events for the average player. All tournaments are part of the Club Grand Prix. UQ Sport Tennis Centre Coaching (open to the public) Adult Group Coaching and Adult Programs The Adult Group Coaching courses (at Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2 levels) are an economical way to learn the game and improve skills in a fun and social environment. There are numerous course options on week nights and Saturday mornigs. Cardio Tennis combines Tennis training with an on-court aerobic workout. Adult Squad is a great addition to your lessons or regular practice and involves match play, rallying, competitive hitting and advanced drills. Adult Squad and Cardio Tennis run throughout the year and can be booked casually or with a 10-week pass. Casual parking in designated parking area costs $5 per day or part thereof in All-Day Zones (e.g. along Sir William Macgregor Drive next to the river); $2.50 per hour in Long-Term Zones (e.g. along part of Blair Drive and in the Aquatic Centre & UQ Centre car parks ); and $5 per hour in Short-Term Zones for a maximum of 1.5 hrs.
