Nancy has been involved in dressage most of her life; she trained in Germany and was short listed in 1984 for the Canadian Team. She was a member of the Canadian Universities Riding Club and competed in Belgium and was Chef d Equipe for the Canadian Student Riders Nations Cup in Japan. She has trained several horses to National championship level. She was President of Maple Ridge Cadora and B.C. Cadora, founding Director of Dressage B.C., Director of Cadora National, and Chair of Sport Development Dressage Canada. She was founder and show manager of Canadian Cup Dressage Show, Maple Ridge and continues to volunteer as a member of the management team for Rising Stars Youth Dressage Championship, now in its 12th year. Nancy has organized several fund-raising events, one such event Dressage in Motion which helped raise funds for local dressage athletes. She was also Chair of the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation. Nancy is a licensed Basic Judge and is the owner/manager of Realserve Financial Inc. Nancy lives on a small acreage in Maple Ridge, B.C. with her family. She tries to find time to ride at a local stable and hopes one day to be back in the show ring again. General Information 1. The Yukon Horse and Rider Association 2018 Dressage Show, Yukon Championships competition is sanctioned as a Bronze competition of Equestrian Canada 308 Legget Drive, Suite 100, Ottawa, Ontario, K2K 1Y6 and is governed by the rules of EC. (A602.1) 2. STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE: Equestrian Canada (EC), the National Equestrian Federation of Canada, supports adherence to humane treatment of horses in all competitions under its jurisdiction. The EC is committed to upholding the welfare of horses, regardless of value as a primary consideration in all activities, requiring that horses be treated with kindness, respect and the compassion that they deserve, and that they never be subjected to mistreatment; ensuring that owners, trainers, exhibitors, and their agents use responsible care in the handling, treatment, and transportation of their horses as well as horses placed in their care for any purpose; providing for the continuous well-being of horses by encouraging routine inspection and consultation with health care professionals and competition officials to achieve the highest possible standards of nutrition, health, comfort, sanitation and safety as a manner of standard operating procedure; continuing to support scientific studies on equine health and welfare, requiring owners, trainers and exhibitors to know and follow their sanctioning organizations rules and to work within industry regulations in all equestrian competitions, reviewing, revising and developing competition rules and regulations that protect the welfare of horses. The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a reasonable person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel, abusive nor inhumane. 3. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current rules of EC and will be held and judged in accordance with the EC Rule Book and in particular Section E Dressage 2018 (A602.2). Knowledge of the rules is the responsibility of the competitor. Please direct questions regarding rules and regulations to the show Steward. All competitors are advised to check the Dressage Canada Web site (www.dressagecanada.org) to review the rules and obtain a hard copy. 4. Any horse entered in any class at a competition may be selected for equine medication control testing while at the event location. (A602.6) 5. Per Article A801, every entry at an EC sanctioned competition shall constitute an agreement by the person responsible that the owner, lessee, trainer, manager, agent coach, driver or rider and horse shall be subject to the EC constitution and all the rules of EC and any additional rules set by the competition. (A602.7) 6. Competitor Identification numbers must be worn and visible at all times while on the competition grounds. 7. An Equestrian Canada Bronze Sport License must be obtained prior to entering any Bronze competition. 8. Riders must include payment, copy of current coggins test, signed waivers (Equestrian Canada, and Yukon Horse and Rider Association) and proof (photocopy) of current EAY and EC Sport license for entries to be accepted. 9. Manes may be braided Article 4.1.9 (It is not mandatory). 10. Gate at A may remain open at all times for all competitors (E.7.14.3) 11. Callers are allowed in all National tests. Competitors must provide their own callers who must be appropriately dressed. (E.9.1.3) 12. All riders regardless of age or level of competition must wear ASTM/SEI or BSI/BS EN approved protective headgear at all times when mounted at the competition site. (Article 4.0.) 13. Entry fees will not be refunded is the competitor if there is a cancellation or withdrawal. Fees will only be refunded on presentation of a veterinarian s or physician s certificate.

14. No horse/pony may be ridden in more than four tests (including the freestyle) in one day (Article E 7.11.8 (3)). Space limited to 60 rides per day therefore entries may be limited as the intention is to include as many horse/rider combinations as possible. Hors concurs will be available upon request if space permits. 15. Lunging may only be done by the athlete, owner, coach, groom or Person Responsible. (E 7.11.12.4) Lunging is permitted in specified areas only and must be under the supervision of the show steward. 16. Horse passports are not required for EC Bronze shows (A602.4). 17. The Show Office will be open on Friday July 6, 2018 between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm for pick-up of competitors show package and horse stabling information. The Show Office will also open each morning 45 minutes before the start of the show. 18. Limited overnight stabling available in outdoor stalls and small pens starting on Friday night. 19. Ride times will be distributed by email at 8:00 pm on Thursday July 5, 2018 and posted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday July 6,2018, at the show office. Post entries will be accepted prior to 8.30 a.m. of the day of the class but the competitor will ride at the end of the day. Late substitution of a horse is permissible provided the show manager is advised. 20. Freestyle music must be in CD format and athletes must provide clearly marked CD with competition number and specific instructions. 21. All classes are ridden in a 20x60m arena. 22. All competitors hauling to the show must check in at show office before unloading horses. Current boarders of the facility must check in at the show office. Competitors will receive rider number, ride times, warm up ring schedule, and stabling information (if required) at that time. 23. The indoor arena is designated as the warm-up area and may be used at any time provided it is supervised by either the show steward or a show official. Warm-up in any other location is not permitted. 24. ALL competitors must complete and submit the attached competitors checklist along with their entry form and must include the following: current negative Coggins certificate, signed waivers, full payment All riders must have an EC Bronze Sport licence to compete in EC dressage classes. 25. Open and Adult Amateurs (AA) will compete in the same class unless sufficient entries allow for division of the class. AA will require proof of EC adult amateur status. 26. Hors Concours entries will be accepted on the approval of the show manager. entries must pay the full entry fee and are subject to all EC and competition regulations. The ride is scored by the judge but is not placed I the class, nor can scores be used for prizes or award. (E7.11.11) 27. Emergency Disaster plan will be posted at show office, in the arena stabling area, at ring bulletin board. St. John s Ambulance is the lead for all on site human medical emergencies. All other emergencies should be dealt with by the Show Manager. 28. Horse trailers must be parked in the field behind the show arena on the south side of the facility. Please check with the show office before unloading. Spectators may park only in the area designated for spectator parking. 29. The show manager reserves the right to excuse any horse deemed (in their opinion) unmanageable from the show grounds. 30. The athlete must report, still mounted, to the show steward or a representative for a tack check immediately upon leaving the competition arena. The athlete may not remove any equipment or clothing before the steward has conducted their check. (E4.16.1) 31. Dogs are not allowed while the show is in progress.

Prizes and Awards Ribbons to 5 th place. Ribbons and prizes can be picked up with the tests from the show office after the class is completed. When there is only one horse in a class, ribbons shall be awarded in accordance with the following chart of percentages: 1 st 60% or Higher, 2 nd 57% to 59.9%, 3 rd 54% to 56.9%, 4 th 51% to 53.9% Any horse receiving less than 40% of the total marks obtainable in a test will be eliminated from that class (E9.9.8) and any horse receiving less than 50% in any class shall not be eligible for awards (E9.9.7). Yukon Championships Yukon Champion and Reserve Champions will be established by averaging the two highest percentages of a horse/athlete combination that competes in an eligible class in each division and athlete category. Test 3 in each level must be ridden in order to qualify for Yukon Championship. Eligible classes are Dressage Equitation, Training, First level, Second Level Third level and above. The horse/athlete combination with the highest total will be named champion. The horse/athlete combination with the second highest total will be named reserve champion. (E.9.9.4) Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded for Junior and Amateur/Open divisions. Note: This is a championship through Equine Association Yukon and not an Equestrian Canada championship. Western Style Dressage Hi-Point and Reserve Hi-Point will be awarded for the Western Style Dressage classes. Lorene Robertson Award reflects Lorene s love and dedication to her horses and the joy that she brought to the barn and her learning every day. The Judge names this award winner based on collective marks and observed dedication, persistence and horsemanship.

Equestrian Canada WAIVERS In the event that participates in an Equestrian Canada sanctioned competition where protective headgear is required for juniors, he/she will wear properly fitted and fastened approved headgear at all times while riding or driving at the event location. It is understood that juniors not meeting this requirement will not be allowed to compete at these competitions. (A802.6) I hereby certify that every horse, rider and/or driver is eligible as entered and agree for myself and my representatives to be bound by the Constitution and rules of Equestrian Canada at this competition. It is hereby recognized that all equestrian sports involve inherent risk and that no helmet or protective equipment can protect against all foreseeable injury. I hereby accept this risk and hold harmless EC, the competition, their officials, organizers, agents, employees and their representatives. For the purpose of these Rules, the Person Responsible is normally the trainer, owner or the competitor who rides or drives the horse during an event, or a parent or legal guardian in the case of junior competitors. The Person Responsible is ultimately responsible for the condition, fitness and management of the horse and is alone responsible for any act performed in the stables by himself or herself or by any other person with authorized access to the horse, or while the horse is being ridden, driven or exercised. The Person Responsible must hold a valid EC Sport License in good standing at the same level or higher in which the horse is competing. However, when the competitor is a Junior, the competitor cannot be the Person Responsible and the Person Responsible may be a parent/guardian who must be at minimum a EC Registered Participant or USEF member in good standing.
