Box Tops for Education The PE department is collecting Box Tops for Education. Please turn them in to your PE/Health teacher.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Grissom is once again collecting pop tabs to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities! The pop tabs are recycled and sold for scrap metal. Last year, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana raised more than $40,000 from this program.
Student Appreciation Week Next week is Student Appreciation Week! The staff has many fun surprises in store for our students! GMS Patriots bracelets will be on sale Monday through Thursday during lunches for $1. You can purchase one for yourself or send one to a friend along with a note of appreciation. All proceeds will be donated to the Cookie Jar Foundation.
Grissom Middle School is selling spirit bracelets for our Student Appreciation Week!! Bracelets are $1 and can be bought during lunch. Send a bracelet with a message to a friend and we will deliver them during TIP :) Bracelets go on sale April 30th Bracelets will say: GMS on the front Patriot Pride on the back ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE KIRBY EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (COOKIE JAR)
Patriot Derby On Friday, May 4 th, every Grissom student will be running the Patriot Derby during PE. You will not be changing into your PE uniform, so please wear appropriate running clothes and shoes to school! Be sure to bring a water bottle for the run!
IGSMA State Band Festival The IGSMA State Band Festival will be held at Prairie View this weekend. Kirby School District 140 s very own Cadet, Concert and Symphonic Bands will be performing Saturday morning at 8:30, 9:15 and 10:00.
Track and Field Good luck at the Andrew meet tomorrow!
Jazz Band Jazz Band rehearses every Wednesday at Prairie View from 4:00-5:15 pm.
Patriots Soccer The Patriots defeated OLHMS yesterday by a score of 4-2! Goals were scored by Landon Kirksey, Jax Carter, Diego Garcia and Michael Guerrero. The entire team worked together for the win! Great job!
Intramurals Kickball intramurals are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:45-8:30.
Soccer The Lady Patriots scored a decisive victory over OLHMS yesterday, beating them 7-0! Goals were scored by Bella Lemus, Ava Sherry, Maria Perez and Makayla Adams. Way to go, ladies! Good luck on Monday when you take on Simmons!

Crayola ColorCycle We are collecting used markers (any brand!) to be converted into clean fuel. This fuel can be used to power vehicles, heat homes, cook meals and more! Water Bottle Filling Station Challenge Last year Grissom Patriots saved over 6,600 plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills by using the water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Please remember to use these instead of plastic bottles. So far this year, we ve saved 8,843 bottles from landfills! The image part w the file.
