WINTER SPORTS UPDATES: The Week of Jan 15th Gymnastics GSL Meet #5 at University the Wildcats had their best performance of the year earning a second place tie with Mead finishing just behind host University. Team Scores: U-High 168.85, Mt Spokane 167.75 & Mead 167.75. Carly Hattenburg finished 3rd in the All-Around with a score of 35.15. Kimmie Sevy finished 1st on the Floor with a score of 9.35. The Cats head to Districts in the Tri-Cities on Friday January 26th for a chance send the team on to the Glue with District #2 at Sammamish High School Feb. 10th. GO CATS!!! Wrestling Dream Duals Champions!!! The Wildcats defeated NC, Bethel, Kamiakin, Kelso & Ferndale en route to the title. Great team effort and quite the accomplishment with five FR wrestlers contributing mightily throughout. The future looks bright. The Cats are at Home Thursday vs Mead w/ the GSL Title on the line. GO CATS!!! Earlier in the week at North Central the Wildcats crushed the host Indians 49-18 in GSL action to stay undefeated and setup what is sure to be a great rivalry event vs Mead for the Glow Down Showdown at Mt Spokane on Jan 25th. The Cats got victories from Carr #106 via pin, Sharp #115 via pin, Booth #120, Casey Howerton #126 via pin, Ky Haney #138, Zack Clark #152, Walker #170 via pin, Bowles #182 via pin, King #195, & Mason Miethe #220. Girls Basketball Pack The Palace the girls controlled much of the game, but could not recover from a late Panther rally. 59-55 Aspen Adams led the way with 22pts. Alyssa Powell contributed 15. The Ladies headed out to Post Falls on Thursday to face one of the best teams in Idaho and came up a bit short 67-47. Aspen had 14 to pace the Cats. At Rogers on Friday, the Cats coasted to an easy road victory. Aspen managed to make 11 3pt shots for 37pts as she works her way back into playing shape. Final was 81-26. The Wildcats are about to hit a very challenging stretch in their schedule as they take on #1 Ranked Central Valley on Tuesday and then host the always-tough U-High Titans on Friday. FIND A WAY CATS GET IT DONE! Boys Basketball Pack The Palace the boys never trailed and put the Panthers away early. Up by 20+ most of the game, the Wildcats coasted to an easy 68-57 win, their 4 th straight over the District rivals. Tyson Degenhart had 17pts, Spencer Barrera had 14pts and Jack McClary contributed 11 in the win. At Rogers on Friday, the boys turned in another stellar road performance routing the host Pirates 67-34 and maintain their lead atop the 3A GSL standings. Tanner Brooks and Tyson Degenhart led the way with 18pts and 14pts respectively. GREAT JOB CATS KEEP IT ROLLING!!! Unified Basketball Defeated Central Valley 36-22 on Thursday. Kade Benak #1 had 3 assists, 6pts and 1 rebound. Star Johnson #34 had 3 assists and 2 rebounds, Robby Shogun #38 had 14pts and 2 rebounds, Riley Wilson #22 had 14pts and 3 rebounds & Steven Rogers #40 had 3 assists, 2 points and 3 rebounds. The Wildcats got another win vs University on Friday at Mead. Kade Benak #1 had 2 rebounds & 6pts. Dana Hydzik #20 had 1 assist, 1 rebound, & 2pts, Robby Shogun #38 had 6pts and 1 rebound, Riley Wilson #22 had 4pts and 5 rebounds, Steven Rogers #40 had 6 points and 3 rebounds and Lucas Morgan #4 rounded out the stats with 2 points and 4 rebounds.
