Bathurst Winter Festival Partnership Opportunities 2018
Event Background The Bathurst Winter Festival was launched in July 2015 coinciding with the celebrations for the Bathurst Bicentenary (1815-2015). Being located 650m above sea level, Bathurst experiences a cold winter which has, in the past, been avoided for the purposes of outdoor events. The third annual Bathurst Winter Festival ran from 1 16 July 2017 with 45,000 people attending the festival. Key components included; McDonald s Bathurst Ice Rink, Illuminations on key buildings throughout the Central Business District (CBD), a ferris wheel, carousel and two feature nights showcasing local artists, regional food and produce. The 16 day festival saw an increase in crowd attendance, community engagement and tourism from outside the 2795 postcode. Event Details The Bathurst Winter Festival will return in 2018 for two weeks from 7 22 July, featuring an open air ice rink, ferris wheel and illumination on CBD buildings.
