2018 MANCHESTER ST. PATRICK S DAY PARADE Sunday March 27 th 12:00 Noon Step Off MAXIMUM EFFORT Parade Day Parking is available at the following two locations: Pine Street Lot, behind the Norris Cotton Federal Building, located at 275 Chestnut Street Lake Avenue Lot, across from the SNHU Arena on Lake Avenue. You may park in either lot, but aim for the Norris Cotton Federal Building lot. Please be at one of these parking lots by 10:30 AM or earlier. From the parking lot we will take a shuttle bus to the parade start route. Once we get to the parade staging area, we will do some light drill (wheels, Manual of Arms) to get ready for the parade itself. You may want to bring some kind of snack to munch on while waiting for the parade to get going. You may polish your brass if you choose, it is not a requirement. We do ask that your brogans be blackened and clean. Your musket and bayonet should also be clean and free of rust. Uniform of the Day: Federal Dress uniform or standard Federal Fatigue blouse, with trousers. Brogans blackened and clean Forage cap (No Slouch Hats) Leathers Musket cleaned Bayonet cleaned Canteen Haversack (you may want a snack so always good to have) This parade is rain or shine, so be prepared. Keep an eye on the weather and prepare appropriately.

2018 Drill and Powder Party April 14 th, South Meadow School, Peterborough, NH 7:30 AM 3:00 PM Our annual drill and powder party is a maximum effort event. This is a good time for us to shake off the rust of the long winter. We do have a new officer to break in, so please allow for patience while he learns his trade. Be sure to bring the following uniform items: Forage Cap Sack Coat Trousers Cartridge Box Cap Pouch Bayonet Waist belt SOFT SOLED SHOES NO BROGANS Canteen Haversack Musket CLEAN The unit is providing a pizza lunch for this event A lot of great information was learned at the NR School, so we will be going over that. We usually have a quick FYI meeting to bring everyone up to date with NR business and other company business as well. Immediately following the drill we will be having a powder party. If you have supplies for filling rounds (powder horns, holders) please bring them along. The more hands to make rounds the faster it will go.

!!!ATTENTION TO ORDERS!!! Submitted by 1 st Sgt. Cronin The NR school of instruction was excellent. We went over a lot and I will go over all of it at our drill April, 14. If you have never been to the NR school, or it s been a while, you may want to think about it for next year. [Editor s Note: The school really is a great resource for all ranks] I will be asking for a head count soon for the NEB Drill May,5. It is $10.00 and you get 2lb. of powder. As of now April, 11 will be the dead line to get the 2lb.and that s the first 100. After the first 100 you will get 1lb. So when I ask for a head count, you will have to get back to me right away. BORDERLANDS EVENT CALLED OFF For those who did not see Matty s email regarding the September event at Borderlands State Park, it has been called off. The administrators of Borderlands State Park wanted a large insurance rider for this event to take place. Needless to say, this is very unfortunate. Borderlands is one of the best event sites you can have in the New England area. The area where we held the battles was really not the best, but the rest of the location simply cannot be beat. Borderlands was one of our two Unit Sponsored Events. As such, we are now looking to have the Red Apple Farm event take its place. When we were last at Red Apple Farm it was for a Tactical Weekend and was by invitation only. This year s event is a NEB event.
