The design commission for the Kestrel 106 invited Ron Holland Design to incorporate their latest design experience into a large-volume ocean-cruising ketch that was capable of impressive sailing performance with a small crew. Following classic lines, this new design reflects a balance between traditional sailing yachts of the past with design refinements that are influenced by the latest sailing technology. Underwater lines are refined for high sailing performance capabilities and large beam and superstructure volume allows an impressive level of interior space. Both on-deck and interior arrangements present amenities that are more related to much longer sailing yachts than Kestrel with her 28 metre length on deck. Aimed at both private ownership and charter capabilities, the Kestrel 106 is a yacht that is comfortable and spacious, yet is easy to handle an ocean cruiser capable of long distance ocean voyaging or entertaining friends when day sailing around coastal waters. Kestrel 106 can sleep up to a maximum of 10 guests in her four staterooms which include a master, a double and two twin cabins. She can also accommodate for up to a further four crew.
