Penzance Netball Club Welcome Pack 2018/19 #Patience #Passion #Pride

Welcome Thank you for choosing Penzance Netball Club. Within this welcome pack you will find all the information you need to become a member of the club. You will find information on: Our Club Who's Who Training Fees and Payments Club s Codes of Conducts Useful Contacts Whether you have joined our club to compete in matches, to get fit, or most importantly, to have fun, this is the right club for you. If you have a competitive streak, then perhaps entering the league is for you. If you do wish to enter, you will need to take part in the team selection trials, which will be held throughout the last two weeks of August. Junior trials are also being held this season due to a high demand in numbers. We will be selecting 20 players from each age group and also putting a waiting list in place for those who are not successful. Dependent on your netball skills and fitness, you will be selected for one of our teams. If and when selected, it is important to be committed, not only as a player but as a team in order to compete. Do not feel you have to enter the league for matches. If it is really not for you, then just attending club training is a great way to improve your netball skills, increase your confidence and get you fit. About Our Club Penzance Netball Club has been running since 1970, when a small group of players practised at the YMCA, and matches were played in the car park of Penwith District Council on Sunday mornings! When the new hall was built at Humphry Davy School we went there for training and had the luxury of playing matches indoors! The club were then able to relocate to Humphry Davy School to train and play indoors. In 2000 the club had the privilege of playing at Mounts Bay School in their new dome, and we enjoyed 10 years of training and playing matches in this unique venue. However, with the dome s increasing popularity as well as the number of members at the club, it was decided for the 2010/11 season that the senior section would move its base to the newly renovated sports hall at Penwith College. Our junior section was restarted in 2008, training at Mounts Bay School. A year later we moved over to Penwith College to join the seniors but had to leave in 2015 due to an ever-growing interest of youngsters wanting to play netball. By this time, Mounts Bay had a new sports hall with two courts, so we have decided to move back to the college this season with capped numbers due to space and coaching availability.

At our club we are able to offer quality coaching at weekly training sessions, and competitive match play at all levels within our local league. We aim to develop all of our players to be the best they can be with an additional focus on our junior section. We currently have 5 senior teams and 4 junior teams (U12, 2 x U14s and U16) who all play within the Cornwall Netball League. Who's who?
