Fallon Lions Junior Rodeo Club General Rules & Info High School Rodeo rules will apply where applicable. All decisions of judges or flaggers will be final also approved by the board members. Failure to abide by these decisions may result in disqualification. Riders must enter the arena at a controlled gate. No running or charging the gate will be allowed. Once in the arena if the gate is centrally located contestant must keep forward motion toward the first barrel/pole. If a side or corner gate is used, a single spin or pivot is acceptable in either direction or by the Arena Director s approval. Failure to comply will be a no time. Contestant must be mounted when entering the arena Contestant Helpers in speed events MAY NOT PASS THE PLANE OF THE GATE.YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. 6-9 helpers may pass plane of gate however must follow rule listed prior. Only contestant can protest. The contestant must present protests to arena director before the end of said event. DO NOT take protests to timers. This could lead to disqualifications, 0-5 peewees may have parent represent them. Decisions of the arena director are final. Contestant will be called 3 times for the gate then disqualified. No re-rides for breakage of tack. The large arena will take precedence over the small. Stock will be chute drawn except in goat events Top 10 fastest times in each event will compete in the finals on Monday IN ALL AGE GROUPS. Points will be given after the second go as: 1st-10pt 2nd-9pt 3rd-8pt 4th-7pt 5th-6pt 6th-5pt 7th-4pt 8th-3pt 9th-2pt 10th-1pt The Rodeo Committee will not be responsible for any late entries or entries lost in the mail. Incomplete, incorrect or unpaid entries Will Not be accepted. Western boots, hats, long sleeved shirt and numbers must be worn by contestants while in the arena and during awards ceremony. Numbers must be worn on contestants back at all times. Helpers and adult partners must also be in western attire while assisting contestants including peewees. CONTESTANTS AND THEIR FAMILIES MUST PARK OUTSIDE THE FENCED AREA. INSIDE PARKING IS FOR RODEO COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND HELP ONLY NO EXCEPTION. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MOVE IF YOU DO NOT MOVE YOU MAYBE DISQUALIFIED. CONTESTANTS MUST WEAR BACK NUMBER AND RODEO ASSOCIATED WRIST BANDS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. PARENTS/GUARDAINS ASSOCIATED RODEO WRIST BANDS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. Inappropriate behavior and/or language will NOT be tolerated and may result in disqualification by the FLCJR committee. Contestants having any association with alcohol or illegal substances during the rodeo while competing or not, will result in disqualification of contestant. Adult may assist junior contestant in to arena (includes roping boxes), but may not attempt to alter competitor performance. Intermediate and senior contestants may not receive assistance inside arena EXCEPT as allowed by NHSRA rules. In case of a tie, decisions will be made by a coin toss. SENIORS MUST HAVE SENIOR PARTNERS FOR TEAM EVENTS AT TIME OF CHECK IN!!! Seniors are limited to 30 seconds in the timed events. Intermediate and Juniors are allowed 60 seconds in timed events. Senior & Intermediate Team Roping: NHSRA Rules Apply. ADULTS ROPING WITH INTERMEDIATE AND JUNIORS DO NOT NEED TO PAY. Junior Heel-O-Matic Roping: There will be a meeting before event on Saturday to explain the rules. Places will be determined using typical team roping rules. 3 legal head catches, 10 second barrier, 5 second penalty for one leg. 3 LOOPS ALLOWED.

Breakaway Roping: If horned calves are used with horns greater than 2-inches long, there shall be three legal head catches (around horns, neck and ½ head) Calf Roping: NHSRA Rules Exception: this is a barrel roping. Chute Dogging: NHSRA Wrangler Division rules will be followed. Mixed Ribbon Roping: MUST BE TWO PERSON TEAM. One roper and one runner. Boy/Girl team required. NO MUGGING & NO TYING ON. Steer Stopping: Contestant must have dally and steer must be faced before clock stops. Steer Daubing: Steer must be daubed and stick raised to stop the clock. Ten second penalty for daubing steer before barrel. Dropping stick results in NO TIME. Adult hazer allowed. Steer Riding: 8 secs. Must ride one handed Calf Riding: 6 secs. May ride with one or two hands. POINTS WILL BE AWARDED ONLY TO QUALIFIED RIDES FOR ALL AROUND. Figure 8: Rider MUST pass in the middle to start/stop time. MUST cross 3 times. No sharing of horses in same age group but if different gender in same age group they may share horse. Goat Tying: NHSRA rules apply. Exception to 30sec time limit for SR and 60sec for Intermediate and Juniors. Run Ride Lead: No slapping or hitting of the horse. Must cross line before dismounting of horse. May us same horse in this event. Sack Roping: 10 sec penalty for crossing white line of circle, must have dally when crossing finish line. 2 loops allowed. If sack is lost outside of circle it is a NO time. Pee Wees: Mutton Busting: Longest time and/or highest score wins, open to boys and girls. Two hands may be used. Rope may not be used. NO SPURS. All around points will ONLY be given to qualified rides. Goat Undecorating: Time will start when contestant passes over startling line. Contestant must remove all of ribbon from the goat s tail to qualify for a time. Once ribbon is removed contestant must throw hands in the air to stop the time. Dummy Roping: Timing will begin when contestant steps into box and will end when contestant pulls slack. Fastest time on three legal head catches 2-horn, ½ head, around the neck. Stick Horse Barrels: Must be legal pattern. MUST remain mounted on stick horse while competing, or receive a 10 second penalty.
