Annual Christmas Dinner StMarys Leagues Club - Restaurant 83 18 th of December at 6.30pm Cost Approx $20.00 per head (+ Drinks) Please let Lyn or Brian Draper know if you will or will not be attending Ph 9835 2155 Pushrod Holder Going Nuts! When assembling the Seagull PC9 ARF I found that they had included EZ Connectors in the hardware pack. Unfortunately the instruction book did not diagram the correct method of assembly I decided that it would be better to let the EZ Connector to pivot freely by not letting the Push rod holder contact the Servo Arm. In my haste to go flying I neglected to use Locktite as I anticipated having to make adjustments for throw by moving in/out a hole on the arm. I thought that the nuts would bite into the Nylon Servo arm and lock in. How wrong I was! To make matters worse because I transported the Aircraft with the wings connected and charged it via an external jack I had not inspected any of the linkages at the servo end in over 20 flights. The end result was loss of Elevator Control and Aircraft Write off Dave Lewis Servo Arm Rules on EZ Connectors 1/ Always use Locking Nuts correctly, 2/ Always use Locktite, 3/ Always inspect prior to flying! Control Line Report Don Keyssecker Ryde Epping MAC Vintage Stunt and Fox Day 10/10/2004 Held at Peter Board High School, very well attended with favourable weather (unusual for this venue) Max Hines and Don Keyssecker represented WPMAC with good results; Don Keyssecker 3 rd All American, Max Hines 4 th revamped Venus (Grinham design) Frank Battam 1 st Hot Rock John Goodwin 2 nd Zilch Many thanks to REMAC for a very well run competition Fairfield Show- Lyn Draper What a terrific day we had at Fairfield Koi, Pet & Garden Show on the16th May, everyone enjoyed themselves. There is always plenty to see and buy, and Dave s wife Delores, & I had a bit of a spending spree. There are many plant, ornament, pet, and fish orientated stalls (among others) vending their wares on the day, and as there were enough people (11) to man the stall we all had a chance for a break and good look around. We covered 1400 sq feet of floor space with models of all descriptions, there were planes, trains, cars, boats & slot cars. The comeraderie of the whole group was wonderful, and the friendship and co-operation between the 3 clubs was an inspiration to all concerned. Dave Middleton & Brian Draper did a marvellous job of promoting WPMAC, and deserve many thanks for all their effort and support, in fact everyone worked hard for all 3 clubs involved, there should be some new memberships as a result. Several hundred brochures we handed out for each club. The Koi Society were so impressed with our exhibit that they awarded the 3 clubs combined with a trophy for the best display. Good PR comes from these days, we need to let the public know we exist, and what better way to do it. To this end, there will be a display day of models, by WPMAC at the TARGET (Village) centre complex, ST MARYS, on Saturday 24 July. Please participate so that we can promote not only the club, but also the sport, before it goes the way of many others. Modelling is a dying art, we need to get the younger generation interested. Congratulations go to Dave Lewis, for being voted WPMAC s Clubman Of The Year, he does a lot for the club and truly deserves the accolades. Goodonyamate!!! from everyone. LYN. Page 14 of 14
