Germany - Austria - Switzerland Road Cycle Holidays Lake Constance 2019 Individual Self-guided 6 days / 5 nights Lake Constance is situated between Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There is a wonderful cycle path going around the lake but for the road cycle tour we selected tours into the back country as well. Many times the trail will be flat but there are demanding ascents to pass if you choose to cycle into the Swiss mountains. Lovely small cities are situated next to the lake and many attractions are along the route like the famous Rhine waterfalls in Schaffhausen. Depending on the season you will pass vineyards and fruit orchards in full bloom or see the Alps with snow. A highlight is also the islands in the lake like Mainau with a castle and flower gardens.

Route Technical Characteristics: Route Profile: Relatively Difficult. You will cycle within a countryside with small hills, river valleys and historic cities. Depending on the selected option you will follow smaller side roads, cycle path and sometimes main road with traffic in peak season or on the weekend. All options you will find in the tour book. For this tour you should have a good fitness and for the longer options with the ascent, a very good fitness will be very helpful. There are sometimes steep descends and therefore we expect some experience cycling on smaller zigzag roads in the mountains.
