WHO WE ARE At the heart of the DME Basketball program is DME Sports Academy, which features an elite basketball training regimen consisting of skill development, group workouts, film study, and individualized strength and conditioning programs designed to maximize player development. The high school team and the two equally talented post graduate teams train in a state-of-the-art facility, boasting five youth sized courts, two NBA standard courts, a complete strength training facility, and a film studio. While attending, athletes live in top tier, supervised housing, and three nutritious meals a day are provided. Our coaches and support staff have experience at a variety of amateur and professional levels, including the NCAA, various international leagues and competitions, and the NBA. Each student-athlete receives instruction and training geared towards helping them reach their full potential, competitively and personally. Additionally, the Academy runs an in-house video production studio and a television broadcasting center designed to offer its student-athletes maximum exposure. Apart from producing cinematic videos for students and players, the studio also utilizes state-of-the-art video equipment to record games, practices, and events. All home games are live-streamed, and as many away games as conditions allow. Since DME Sports Academy is an intimate, family run organization, we are able to meet each athlete's needs in a caring and supportive setting. HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM POST GRAD PROGRAM HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS DME Sports Academy High School Girls Team is coached by Michael Panaggio. Like our boys program our girls compete in the SIAA conference, which has numerous division 1 prospects that come from all over the world. Despite the fact that this was the inaugural year for the Girls team and with one of the toughest schedule in the country, DME Girls Basketball is one of the favorites to win the SIAA. Our high school team had a schedule that consist of over 30 games. GIRLS POST GRAD After launching the Girls high school program in 2017, DME is focused on starting a post grad team to provide girls with the opportunity to be seen by colleges. The post graduate option is not as common in girls basketball, but DME deems that it will help give girls similar opportunities to those that male counterparts receive and thus further improve their game. The schedule will consist of 30 + games playing other post graduate programs as well as junior colleges and independent high schools. DME SCHOOL & WARNER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL HS & PG ACADEMICS DME SA and FLVS DME Sports Academy offers flexibility to allow for excellence in both sports and education. By utilizing Florida Virtual School, our students are able to complete their coursework from anywhere in the world with Wi-Fi, so their academics are not hindered by their athletic pursuits and traveling. Florida Virtual School offers fully accredited and NCAA approved coursework and on-call teachers for the student-athletes. WARNER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL Warner Christian School is an academic partner of DME Sports Academy. DME's international student-athletes are allowed to participate as full-time students and complete their high school education at WCA. The I-20 document is issued by the school so that each international student can secure the necessary student-visa.
GIRLS TRAVEL BALL DME is in its third year of having travel ball. The girls program number has grown tremendously since year one along with the talent level. The teams travel across the country and play in front of hundreds of college coaches. Girls from all over the state not only gain a significant amount of playing time but also seek exposure and work on their skill development and as a result, DME girls travel ball has become a household name in the state of Florida.
SPORTS PERFORMANCE DME s sports performance coach Rashad Roberts has had a decorated career over the last decade. His most prestigious stop was two years with the NFL s Carolina Panthers as an assistant strength coach, where he worked with the likes of NFL MVP Cam Newton and Defensive Player of the Year Luke Kuechly. Roberts has trained a variety of athletes whose skill sets range from beginner to professional. His focus is on physical and physiological development of the body to achieve full athletic potential. Training includes strategies for injury prevention, and understanding the proper mechanics in strength, speed and explosiveness tailored to the particular demands of an athlete s chosen sport. Angie Lawrence, who spearheads the DME sports medicine team, plays a significant role in the success of athletes at all levels by optimizing their physiological and mental well-being. Her vast experience in competitive sports has taught her what it takes to make it at an elite level, and the optimal physical, mental and emotional training regimen for each athlete. Her passion for peak performance and injury prevention are demonstrated by comprehensive, specialized treatment plans for each individual s needs. RECOVERY DME s department of Sports Medicine and Human Performance provides athletes with the tools and resources to excel in their respective sports while enhancing their overall health and wellness. Our system utilizes an integrated, multi-faceted approach to target all areas of the athlete s performance needs, before taking the court/field and in recovering from injuries and the inherent rigors of competition. We offer the latest in sports recovery aids including the Normatec compression therapy system, HydroMassage beds, and cold water hydrotherapy.
