Monthly NSU Newsletter z November 2018 The Center Circle The Center Circle sends you and your family warm holiday wishes! Center Circle: Joe Hammes Director of Coaching Our teams wrapped up another excellent season of play highlighted by the U18 Girls Blue 6 th straight State Championship, the U17 Girls Blue 2 nd straight State Championship, and the first President s Cup Championship won by the U17/18 Girls White. Teams are now transitioning to the winter season where we will keep teams busy with training, futsal leagues, indoor leagues, and college showcase tournaments. Our U11-U16 Boys and Girls Blue teams and a few of our HS Blue Teams will be playing in the Futsal Super League at St. Augustine Academy in January and February. Our U11-U14 Boys and Girls White teams will be playing in the Wisconsin Lutheran College futsal league, which begins play in December. Some of our HS Boys and Girls White teams will be playing indoor sessions at Uihlein Soccer Park in session 2. All teams will be active training throughout the winter, as we have secured training space at the Ozaukee Co Fairgrounds, Cedarburg HS field house and vintage gym, and Grafton HS. In addition, as long as we don t have snow, many of our teams will remain outside training on the turf field at PWSB Soccer Park. Center Circle: Roni Andrew Director of Recreational Soccer Season is a wrap! I was able to see almost every team play and several training sessions as well. I have communicated recaps with hope for feedback and waiting for replies. With the meeting delay, we should have some feed back for next report. Our off-season will include ideas for spring session - marketing our program to the community in hopes of more participation. I will be keeping eyes open for grassroots coaching opportunities to offer our NSU coaches as well as a possible "Rec Night" session at the indoor complex. Mini Micros dates for the winter session are set -- 6 weeks in Jan/Feb with a morning and an afternoon session. Keep a look out for our flyer--what a great holiday gift to give this season! Center Circle: Shannon Smyth Technical Director 11U-14U All of our u11-14 teams have wrapped up a busy fall season and notably our u14/15 Girls White won their State League Division--congrats to Coach Michael and the girls! Our coaches are now connecting with families for player evaluations. The process of practicing self-reflection for our players and setting time aside from the field with our families is something we really value as a club for our players to continue to have ownership in their development path. For now, players have a break until December when winter indoor training ramps up and futsal leagues start shortly after. TOPSoccer at Uihlein is going very well! We just set the date for the 3rd Annual Border Battle with Chicago TOPSoccer on March 23 at Uihlein. It's an awesome opportunity to link with Illinois to make it a big event for our TOPS players. It will be 12-2pm with skills stations; a game and all players will receive a shirt and medal. Enjoy Thanksgiving with your families! Shannon TOPSoccer The winter program information is now out.
