GAME NOTES SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2018 NEWS & NOTES Lipon Rolling Forward JC Lipon has five points (1G, 4A) in his last five games. The Regina, Sask. native had gone six games without registering a point leading into his current run. Lipon picked up points in all three recent games against Grand Rapids, and added two helpers against Texas on Wednesday. The veteran forward comes into today's matchup three games shy of 350 for his career. Lipon will be the seventh player to play 350 games with the franchise. Overtime Loss Manitoba suffered its first extra time loss of the season last night. The Moose had picked up two wins in extra time to start the campaign, one in overtime and the other in the shootout. Last season, Manitoba recorded four overtime victories and a shootout win, against four overtime losses and four shootout defeats. Youthful Helpers While both Moose goals in Grand Rapids were scored by veterans, the players setting up the plays have far less experience. All four assists recorded by the Moose last night were posted by players with less than two full seasons under their belts. Skyler McKenzie, Luke Green and C.J. Suess are all in their first full seasons, while Michael Spacek is in his second. Six of Manitoba's top-10 scorers are 22 or younger. Efficient Shooters Manitoba hasn't generated a bounty of shots the past two games, but has been efficient with the opportunities. The Moose scored seven goals on 36 shots in the previous two outings, for a shooting percentage of 19.4 per cent. In Wednesday's tilt against Texas, Manitoba racked up three goals on just six shots in the second period. Last night the Moose only put two shots on net in the third period, but scored the goal the club needed to force overtime. The Moose roster features five players with a shooting percentage at 15.0 or higher.
