Introducing Maleny Credit Union s Connie Cooper - new Loans Consultant Hi, I m Connie and I might only be a young woman but I believe in old fashion values and upholding them very highly. I love spending my time giving back to the community and helping others wherever I can whether personally or professionally. Maleny District Sports & Recreation Club Inc A new face at Maleny Credit Union A bit about me. I have a strong volunteer background where I ve created and headed up a lot of fundraising events which included Royal Flying Doctors Service, Cancer Council, Youth Groups, Make a Wish Foundation. I feel very strongly about firstly supporting the people in our own local communities before reaching out to others. So please don t hesitate if you need a hand give me a call I will always try to help where I can. I m a chatter, always up for a conversation about anything! I have a million hobbies and take on more each day which comes from me being easily fascinated about other people s lives. The love of my life is my one eyed Maltese x shitzu called The George a name I felt he has more than earned himself over the years. On a serious note when it comes to work I m one of the very few people that have a passion for lending which is what I m constantly told by others. Some people think it s weird but we can t help what we love. I love helping people understand and benefit from their finances. I m on a mission to help as many people as I can in the local community to save money and have long term benefits from their banking. So I look forward to having a chat soon. Have an amazing day! Do you want Money? Australia Post is encouraging Sunshine Coast community groups, charitable organisations and small businesses that are connecting people and creating positive change, to apply for funding of up to $10,000 through the Our Neighbourhood Grants program. This is an opportunity to carry out further community projects. To apply for an Our Neighbourhood Grant or to find out more about eligibility, criteria and application tips visit http://ourneighbourhood.com.au Maleny District Sports & Recreation Club Inc Training with the World s Best Students from San Taekwondo in Beerwah and Maleny last week had the opportunity to train with the world renowned demonstration team the K-Tigers. The K-tigers are based in Korea and have performed at events including the world championships - and even starred in music videos. Currently touring Australia to promote Korean culture and martial arts, they spent three days training with us in the Hinterland. They performed a spectacular show for members which mixed elements of dance, tricking and gymnastics with traditional martial arts. Kicking targets while performing flips several meters off the ground and hitting up to 6 targets in one jump were some of the highlights. Following the demonstrations, students had the opportunity to learn from the K-tigers who ran a lesson for the students helping with their patterns, or poomsae, and teaching some self defence techniques and martial arts tricking skills. The new fulltime training centre in Beerwah has proven to be a great asset as we are now able to host international teams and provide the very best environment for training. A very exciting year lies ahead, including competitions in New Zealand, Thailand and Korea.
