The Lions had a 3-0 week capped by Batemon s performance in the Jersey Mike s Jamaica Classic to secure the Montego Bay Division Title for LMU. Batemon was the leading scorer in all three wins this week and averaged over 21.3 ppg, 6.0 assists, 4.6 rpg, and 38.6 mpg during those games. On Monday against CSUN, Batemon James Batemon hit his first points/assists double-double of the season with strong second half. After intermission the senior scored 14 of his game-high 21 points and added seven of his game-high 10 assists. Batemon went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the second half. Batemon provided the second half spark yet again in the program s first-ever win over Georgetown on Friday at the Jamaica Classic. Batemon scored 22 of his 27 points in the second half. The Last Time Out GONZAGA 91, Arizona 74 Game 5 * Nov. 20 * Lahaina Civic Center Rui Hachimura scored 24 points, Zach Norvell Jr. added 20 and No. 3 Gonzaga earned a spot in the Maui Invitational title game with a 91-74 win over Arizona Tuesday night. Gonzaga (5-0) was out of synch late in the first half after a good start, falling into an eight-point hole. The Zags turned the Lahaina Civic Center into The Kennel West early in the second, the cheers growing louder with each basket during a 15-2 run that put them up 56-53. Two-time Maui champion Arizona (4-1) fought back to keep it close, but only for a little while. Gonzaga went on another run, pushing the lead 79-67 and kept the Wildcats at bay from there. The Zags will face five-time Maui champion and top-ranked Duke in Wednesday s title game. Justin Coleman had 28 points for Arizona, which had three assists on 21 made field goals. Coming up...
