Trying to at least put out the fires and convince people that things will be getting better here as we go along.. Travel communication is not good a. Travel training needs to be more serious b. Big news here is there will be no set tryout dates for the boys league come this fall 16. Met with Demosphere & TeamSnap about their website and registration capabilities. We probably need to look for just one system to do this for now on. Right now, we are running our programs, reports, and website over 3 platforms. IST Vice President Jenn Hurwitz 1.House fall league has now ended. Here are some suggestions for the fall tournament: the two-week tournament length seems to work the best especially when looking at the availability of referees. Tournament game times should be adjusted. No teams should lose more than 10 minutes of game time. The final game should be full-length. It is very important the get an adult center referee for the final games. Division Director Reports U8 Girls Beccy Gurion 1. Most of the coaches were happy about the season. Parents weren t as happy about having to move to watch the games. I had 6 teams of 11 but think 12 or 13 players would work better. U8 Boys Greg Post U10 Girls Jerry Stark 1. We need to explore the way points are given during the tournament. U10 Boys Dave Tofilon 1.Very good season. U12 Girls Vince Glaviano 1. Had a coach that asked if we ever made the teams based on the size of the kids. U12 Boys Fabio Van Roon 1. Overall the season went well. U14 Girls Scott Pfister 1. Overall season went well. Page 3 of 6

U14 Boys Steve Menk 1. We had teams with 17 players and were still low on players at games. Good season. House Director John Miller Silent Weekend Summary Parent Perspective: Even with considerable up front explanation, definition, reasoning and undeniable justification there was still a percentage of parents that could not understand why we held a silent weekend. If we were to have another event like this in the future I suggest we change the name. Something that conveys the message that parents are here to cheer, coaches are here to coach and players are here to play and have fun might be a better more positive message over Be Quiet! (their interpretation). From what I have observed throughout the fall season, too many parents are coaching their kids actively in games and in many instances, are giving counterproductive information most of the time. We might be better served to have a campaign running through next fall promoting positive cheering and asking parents not to coach as a parent. Coaching Perspective: There was a percentage of coaches that struggled with the concept of not constantly verbally yelling instructions to players. My goal for the next year is to try to get our volunteer coaches to observe the decisions made by the players and to give instruction to players when there is a break in the game, when they sub out or at halftime. Coaches were respectful to the officials and this must always be promoted and observed. Player Perspective: The players I spoke to enjoyed not being yelled at from both sides of the field and having the ability to hear their team mates and communicate better. They said it was a fun way to play the game. One off training sessions vs. The Celtic Arch Program Throughout October I made myself available to any coach that wanted me to run a training session on any topic for their team. I ran on average 1-2 sessions a week throughout the weeks leading up to the tournament. This was invaluable to me to work with players and coaches and to see first-hand the level they were at for their age group. For each team, there was always 2-3 players that were at a much higher skill level then the rest of the team which is expected. I would like to offer an additional program (The Arch Program) for these players (top 2-4 per team) in each age group. In addition to the player evaluations I ve asked all house coaches to rank their players from top to bottom on each team. I would like to discuss giving these players an additional training option for them to be challenged and assist in their development. It would maximize my time as well as I would like to record these sessions and post them to the (not yet available) Palatine Celtic YouTube Channel so coaches can observe the sessions online. Winter Coaching Clinic Will be reaching out to Division Directors to gauge the interest in running a house coaching clinic to cover age specific training topics for all interested house coaches. This would take place at Falcon over the winter. Still would like to see all our U-10 coaches enroll in taking the online F license course through USSF. HDOC Fall Season Summary I thought it was a great season this fall. The 4 v 4 format for the U-8 s was great! I met with most (not all) of the coaches either observing a session, watching a game or working with a team. I m hopeful the coaches see me as a resource and a helpful asset to teaching this great sport. I look forward to developing even better relationships in the Page 4 of 6
