Hart PTA NEWSLETTER December 2016 Red Ribbon Week is a Big Success! Hart students had a blast during Red Ribbon Week! We kicked off the week by wearing our favorite Star Wars gear and finished the week by showing our Lovejoy school spirit by wearing red and black. Students were enthralled by an all-time favorite performance with ventriloquist Dennis Lee and Nana Puddin! Red Ribbon Week was a hit! Thank you to the PTA for their continued support to bring great events like this to our school and make an impact in our student s lives. Lovejoy Fine Arts Festival Lovejoy Arts will kick off its annual district event, the Fine Arts Festival, on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Lovejoy High School. Featured performances include concerts by the Lovejoy Band program, a preview of the Varsity Cheerleaders UIL performance, and a performance by the WSMS Cheerleaders. The Visual Art galleries will be open for touring between concerts and performances.the Festival continues all day on Saturday, December 3, 2016, with the first performances beginning at 10:00 AM at Lovejoy High School. This year s Festival will feature artwork from students from all campuses participating in visual art courses. The newly renovated LHS Visual Arts Gallery will be open for public tours. We will host performances from the elementary music programs, choir, Color Guard, orchestra, studio dance, Majestics, and theatre programs throughout the day. Please come support our Lovejoy Arts programs and see the amazing works being presented. Dec. 3 rd Reflections Results We had a total of 88 Reflections entries this year. 16 entrants will be moving on to the Council Level on December 2nd. The Awards Presentation will also take place in December. Thank you to all who submitted entries for our Reflections contest this year! New this Winter season are Lovejoy Blankets. $25 each. Blankets come in red with white text or black with red text. You can purchase at Hart Beat on December 2nd. They will make great teacher and staff holiday gifts. Hospitality We are so blessed to have such giving families at Hart. You make Hospitality s job so much easier. Thank you to everyone that donated to the Thankful teacher breakfast treats. Everything was greatly appreciated! A special thank you to those that helped decorate for Hart s Thanksgiving lunch and for staffing the drink table. December is upon us and this month we are celebrating the holidays with a lunch on December 9th catered by el Pollo Loco. The restaurant has been a great resource for us and they are providing the lunch for the staff at a huge discount. Please remember to visit their location on Stacey Road when you are out and about in town. There are a few items on our list that we are requesting donations for as we host the lunch.
