FISD-RMS Athletic Policy Highlights: Parental Removal Please contact me if you wish to remove your son from practice or game as a consequence for misbehavior at school or at home. We will discuss the situation and pursue the best course of action.

Discipline: Tough on classroom misbehavior. A ram athlete should not ever be assigned a lunch detention, C-Hall, ISS, or OSS. Playing time will be lost! Teacher/Coach communication is strong. We know what occurs in the classrooms. Athletes represent Ram Athletics.

Grades: F.A.T.E. We strongly encourage our athletes to attend tutorials. Teachers are available after school. Athletes will need to go during NON-PRACTICE times. High Expectations

Eligibility: F.A.T.E. UIL rules do not permit athletes to compete in contests if they fail one or more classes during a six weeks grading period. After 3 weeks, they may regain eligibility if they are passing ALL classes. (Not just the class or classes they failed.) Any athlete that falls into this category will be put on an academic growth plan and will be required to attend tutorials. If they do not regain eligibility or do not abide with the growth plan, they will be dismissed from the team.

Eligibility Calendar: F.A.T.E. OCTOBER 11, PM = Any student failing the 1 st six weeks becomes ineligible. November 1, PM = A student who failed the 1 st six weeks, but is passing all classes at the 3 week grade check becomes eligible. NOVEMBER 15, PM = A student who failed the 1 st six weeks, but is passing all classes for the 2 nd six weeks becomes eligible. A student failing the 2 nd six weeks becomes ineligible.

Feeder System F.A.T.E. FISD athletics has a system in place such that 2 middle schools will ultimately feed into one high school. We will follow the Heritage HS system, organization, and structure. Offense: Spread Option Football Defense: 4-3 cover 2

Practices Be there. Be on time. 8 th : Workouts will begin at 7:00 a.m. They will need to report before 6:45 a.m. They will work out until 9:00 a.m. Game day and Post Game day practices will commence at 8:25 (1 st period athletics.)

Morning workouts: they will work out until 8:15 a.m. at which time they will be dismissed to the locker room to clean up for 1 st period. 2 nd period, they will finish their workout. Game day and Post Game day practices will be during 2 nd period only.

Practices F.A.T.E. All athletes are expected to be at their assigned practices. Tutorials, detentions, meetings, etc. need to be taken care of during NON-PRACTICE times. If an athlete fails for the 6 weeks, they STILL need to come to early practices. We will work with other electives so that they are available for them and for us.

Concussions and C.O.T. 1. The student must see a physician as soon as practically possible. 2. Next morning, must see one of the trainers, Coach Fudge or Fleming, with parent. 3. Games F.A.T.E. 2 games: B Team will begin at 5:30 and the A Team game will begin 10 minutes after the completion of the first game. Posted on our website. All coaches should be CDL certified, and we will bus them to and from the games.

Games F.A.T.E. After the completion of the first game, those athletes will be bused back to Roach to be picked up. Please be there by 7:15 to pick up your son. A coach will remain at Roach until all athletes are picked up. Please be mindful and considerate of our Coach as we will need him back as soon as possible for the 2 nd game.

Game Day Meals F.A.T.E. This year, Jason s Deli will be providing our game day meal. Ms. Erickson is here to take orders for the pregame meals. She will also be here tomorrow morning before our practice if you would like to purchase the meal plan. Please do not drop food off at the school. Your son will not be able to meet you as we have activities planned after school. Please pack a 2 nd lunch if you do not wish for your son to participate in the meal plan.

Locker Rooms Every athlete will be assigned a locker. No valuables, ever. Keep I-pods, mp3 players, jewelry, etc. at home or in the school locker where it can be locked. Not responsible for lost/stolen items.

Equipment We will provide: all pads, pants, T-shirts, jerseys, shorts. Your child will need to provide: shoes (non-metal cleats will suffice ), socks, athletic supporter or compression short. No spays!!! A combination lock will be necessary to lock up their valuables.

Equipment They will be issued an RMS shirt and a pair of RMS shorts that will be used for 2 years. We will collect their Blues and wash them. Only RMS clothing allowed in locker.

Equipment They may buy their own mouthpiece and/or Chin Straps. No accessories will be provided.

Equipment Inhalers Please complete the Inhaler Release Form and return so that we your son can have his inhaler with him during athletics. Please have your son speak to the school nurse for this form.

Team Organization TEAM ME!!! Attempt to include as many as possible. Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed amount of playing time. Everyone will have an offensive and defensive position, but may play on one side of the ball more than the other. May be asked to play a different position.

Help at Home Encourage your child. Please have them here on time. Be sure they have their equipment. Support your child!
