TO THE POINTE EPPOA Board Of Directors News & Notes Thoughts and Prayers We offer our sincere condolences to all residents and their families who have recently lost loved ones, and our best wishes for speedy healing to those who are facing health challenges at this time. If you become aware of EP residents in need of our prayers over the summer, please post to the Facebook Group or email lynnbugden@gmail.com Welcome Recent New Owners! John & Hilda Mikell Thomas Caudle Final Open House of the Season Tuesday, April 5 Another season at Emerald Pointe is coming to a close. Already quite a few residents have headed north, with more to follow throughout the rest of April and into May. This will be the first year that Alexis and I will be experiencing Emerald Pointe in the summer. I m sure the pace will be a little different than during the season and the weather may take some getting used to! I also know that our summer residents are a close and active community, and we are looking forward to being a part of that. Last summer at the Pointe was a very busy time with several major projects on the go. The old frontage hedge was removed and the new fence installed; the pool was drained and cleaned; the roads were sealed; the laundry room equipment was swapped out as a new vendor took over. The grass grew tall when our lawn contractor proved not up to the job and so had to be replaced. This summer should be quite a bit less hectic (at least I hope so!) The only major project planned is the painting of the sidewalks around the Clubhouse. Hopefully, there won t be any other major surprises. I hope that everyone enjoys their summer whether spending it catching up with families, friends and neighbors back home, hitting the road for new RV adventures or enjoying Zephyrhills when it returns to being a small Florida town with no traffic or restaurant waiting lines! Remember to keep in touch via the Emerald Pointe Facebook Group. Safe travels to all and keep cool! Rich Grega, EPPOA President (Ed. Note: Hopefully, our President s summer responsibilities will include ensuring that our mascot, Ralph Rooster, continues to enjoy life here at Emerald Pointe!)

From The EPPOA Office I would like to take this time to thank everyone who helped out at the EPPOA Annual Meeting and Elections last month - Lani Pilgrim, Lexine Sams, Connie Wilson, Dee Andrews and Pauline Patenaude, Lynn Bugden as runner and Debbie Dague as judge. Thanks also to Charlie Bandaccari and Dan Dague who assisted as door monitors. I would also like to acknowledge all those who have volunteered their time every week in the office. They do a great job, and I thank them for taking time out of their days to help keep things running smoothly. Wishing you all a great and safe summer.see you in the fall! Debbie Leahy, Office Manager The Emerald Pointe Facebook Group now stands at 175 members, up from 50 or so at this time last year! It has proven to be a very active Group and a valuable communication tool for our residents. Please keep posting during the summer months let us know what you re up to! If you have not yet joined, please do! There is a direct link to the Group on the EP website, or search Emerald Pointe RV Resort from your personal Facebook page and click Join. You will receive a message from me asking for your Lot# confirmation. Make sure you check your Facebook messages after you ask to join! There are currently 20 folks who have requested to join and have not replied.they are missing out! Once again this year, we have had workshops covering such topics as setting privacy controls, posting, sharing, inserting photos, messaging, etc. Additional workshops will be offered next season for those who are new to Facebook or would like to improve their skills. I would like to thank you all for following informative and responsible posting practices and for your continued support of the Group! Lynn Bugden, Group Administrator Please make sure the EPPOA OFFICE has your correct contact!!!!!! information so that you can be reached immediately in the event of an emergency while you are absent from the park. Forms are available at www.emeraldpointervresort.com and updates may be sent via email to eppoa@yahoo.com ALSO please remember to fill out an OFFICIAL MAIL FORWARDING CHANGE OF ADDRESS ORDER for the USPS, available in the Change of Address binder in the Library. Leave the form in your mailbox. The mail carrier has personally requested that you also leave a separate note which states your EP address, name(s), and date of departure. If you have left the park and forgotten to do this, Change of Address and Hold Mail can be done online @ www.usps.com Rich Frascone is responsible for the co-ordination of property Sales and Rentals during the summer months. Any additions, deletions or changes you wish to make to Emerald Pointe s Sales and Rental Listings should be emailed to Rich at rfrascone@aol.com. A reminder that a yearly fee of $25.00 is required to advertise your property on the Sales/Rental Listings.

EP Billiards was a 10 week schedule whereby each player shot alternate shots with their partner against a team of pre-selected pairings. The total games won out of 7 played were tallied each week, to come up with a 5-flight, 4-individual match playoff, one on one. The winners of the four matches were: 1 st Flight: Winston Brown 2 nd Flight: Heyward Addy (spared by Larry Jackson) 3 rd Flight: Gerald Aikens 4 th Flight: Jim Lynn 5 th Flight: Lloyd Nagora This season s trophy and bragging rights were won by Gerald Aikens, winning 4 out of 7 games against Winston Brown in the final pairing. Congratulations, Gerald there are a lot of players looking forward to a rematch next year! I will continue to chair the league, but am looking for help doing the scheduling as I have lost Chuck Fingerman, who did a great job. As always, I am looking for suggestions to make this league even better for all. Please sign up in the Billiards Room for next year we want to start in the first week of January 2017 so that we can finish prior to the end of March. Spares are welcome to sign up as well. Winston Brown, Chair, EP Billiards The regular 2015-2016 golf season was completed at Silverado on March 30, 2016. We had two holes-in-one this year Congratulations to Charlie Bandaccari and Wayne Lunsford! The $100 prize was split between them and presented at the March 30 outing. It has been a great run at Silverado the people have treated us well and for that, we thank them. The league operates with a point system to allow all levels of plays an even chance at winning the various types of contests we play each week. Thanks to Steve for keeping these points adjusted, even though sometimes the job comes with some criticism from others (including myself!). I thank Jim for the task of doing the tally each week and sorting out final winners based on those handicap holes 3&18. We had a Pizza Party as well as a Steak/Chicken BBQ with many prizes provided to all golfers. Thanks to everyone the cooks, the prize collectors, the cleanup crew and the attendees who helped to make these events hugely successful! The decision was made by a unanimous vote to move to Lake Bernadette next season. The league will continue to play at Lake Bernadette for the rest of April, as long as there is interest. Winston Brown, for EP Golf

A Few Words From Emerald Pointe RV Resort 2015-2016 Thanks for the Memories!

Lynn Bugden, Editor 7:00 9:00 PM Check your April Calendar.many regular activities will be continuing until the end of the month. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone involved on the Social Committee for all their hard work this season! Some Funnies To Make You Smile! ** My goal for 2016 was to lose just 10 pounds. Only 15 to go. ** Ate salad for dinner! Mostly croutons & tomatoes. Really just one big, round crouton covered with tomato sauce. And cheese. FINE, it was a pizza. I ate a pizza. ** I just did a week s worth of cardio after walking into a spider web. ** I don t mean to brag but I finished my 14-day diet in 3 hours and 20 minutes. Many thanks to EP Resident Rosalba Consuegra for contributing this recipe! Quick and Easy Raspberry Banana Snacks Simply put 3 or 4 raspberries in each space of a muffin tin. In a separate bowl, mash 3 bananas and add 4 eggs. Mix well. Pour on top of raspberries. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes at 375F. (Ed. Note: This simple recipe would likely be delicious with other fruits as well!) ** A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it. ** Kids today don t know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel. ** Senility has been a smooth transition for me. ** Remember back when we were kids and every time it was below zero out they closed school? Me neither. ** I may not be that funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented I forgot where I was going with this. ** I love being over 60. I learn something new every day and forget 5 others. ** I think I ll just put an Out of Order sticker on my forehead and call it a day. G Have a favorite recipe to share? Send it along! lynnbugden@gmail.com ENJOY!!
