Tennis / Pickleball Court Policy 1. Member Usage: Court time is complimentary for all members. 2. Member Check In: All players must show valid membership card at the Tennis Desk before entering the courts. Court sign in is also required at the Golf Shop or Hotel Front Desk when the Tennis Desk is closed/unstaffed. 3. Daily Court Usage: A member s name may be entered on one reserved court, and may have no more than one play time per day. Ball machine use and Lessons are excluded from this limitation. Members may also request a same day walk on court if available. Any abuse of court reservation privileges may result in suspension or termination of your membership. Courts available for play 8 a.m. 9 p.m. daily, subject to private events or availability. 4. Guests Fee: A $10 fee will be charged for each individual guest of members. Member must be present. 5. Reservations: Court reservations must be made at the Tennis Shop or Golf Shop. Reservations may be made by phone or in person up to three days in advance. Same day court reservations are taken during all Tennis Shop hours on the day of availability. Members may reserve two hours of court time per day. Time may be extended if court is available. 6. Reservation Information, 5 Hour Cancellation, & Cancellation Fee: When making court reservations, members must give the desk attendant their name, membership number, and the number of players. The person making the reservation assumes the responsibility for canceling the court and for all playing partners checking in at time of play. A cancellation fee of $20.00 will be charged to the person making the reservation if not canceled at least five hours in advance. 7. Comportment/Court Entry & Exit: As a courtesy, players are expected to be ready to exit the court at the exact end of their court time, regardless of their match play status or score. In coming players should wait until the completion of a point to enter a court, and not before the exact beginning of their court time. 8. Clay Court Use: Only proper tennis shoes allowed on clay courts. As a courtesy to players who follow you, please brush the court at the end of play. 9. Etiquette: Proper tennis etiquette including language and good sportsmanship is expected at all times. The USTA Friend at Court Handbook serves as our Club court rules guide. Failure to follow these tenets may result in membership suspension or termination. 10. League Play (USTA an ALTA ): League matches may receive advance booking time earlier than the standard 72 hour window and beyond the two hour court time. Each non member will be charged a $45 fee for each season of League play, which includes pre determined practices/coaching and Team matches. All other court use is subject to applicable fees. The Director of Tennis must give direct approval to any team league usage at the facility. 11. Attire: Proper tennis clothing and tennis specific footwear must be worn. No street clothes allowed. Please, no cross trainers, running shoes or other inappropriate footwear. 12. Ball Machine Rentals: Machine practice court on a space available basis. a. An hourly fee is charged for ball machine use; frequent users may purchase a Ball Machine membership. b. Personal ball machines are not permitted. c. Regular court reservation policies apply; however ball machines may be used only during Tennis Shop hours. d. Check in at the Tennis Shop to get your court assignment. e. If unfamiliar with ball machine operation, please ask for assistance at the Tennis Shop. f. At the completion of ball machine use, please ensure all balls are returned to the ball machine as a courtesy to the players who follow you. 13. Lessons and Coaching: All lessons and events will be conducted by Chateau Elan Tennis Staff only. 14. Rates and Policy: Management has the right to change rates and policy at any time. CHATEAU ELAN RECREATIONAL WAIVER In consideration of Wheelock Capital /HEI Hotels, its employees, officers, owners, directors affiliates, including all property owner s associations and related corporations (here after referred to as Wheelock Capital /HEI Hotels ) allowing (Guest) (Current Age) to participate in Tennis/Pickle ball, Basketball, Volleyball. I for myself, my representatives, heirs, and assign hereby FOREVER RELEASE AND DISCHARGE Wheelock Capital/HEI Hotels from any and all liabilities, claims, demands or cause of action that may arise from any and all injuries or damages arising out of my participation while using Tennis/Pickle ball, Basketball, Volleyball. I also recognize that other participants and spectators pose a danger to me and I voluntarily accept all risks connected with or arising from my participation in Tennis/Pickle ball, Basketball, Volleyball whether or not incidental to my participation in these activities, and as a result of known or unknown cause. Wheelock Capital/HEI Hotels is not responsible for any first aid and/or transport provided or not provided or any losses CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF Wheelock Capital/HEI Hotel. I understand and acknowledge that Tennis/Pickle ball, Basketball, Volleyball, recreational activities have inherent dangers that no amount of care, caution, instruction, or expertise can eliminate. I EXPRESSLY AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISK OF DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE SUSTAINED WHILE PARTICIPATING IN Tennis/Pickle ball, Basketball, Volleyball OF ANY TYPE, including but not limited to variations or changes in surface, lighting, weather conditions, or by hidden latent or obvious defects to the premises.
