Tip-off time from University Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. with the game being streamed on ESPN3. Following Tuesday s game, the Rockets will host arch-rival Bowling Green (12-7, 3-3 MAC) on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m. UT holds a two-game lead over the Broncos and Ball State (12-7, 3-3 MAC) in the West Division following Saturday s 72-65 win over Kent State. Toledo and Buffalo (14-5, 6-0 MAC) are the only two teams in the MAC with less than three defeats. The last time the Rockets won five games in a row in MAC play was when UT went on a six-game winning streak from Jan. 24-Feb. 10, 2015. Toledo utilized a balanced attack to secure the victory over the Golden Flashes as senior guard Tre Shaun Fletcher led the way with 17 points, a team-high 12 rebounds and four assists for his eighth double-double. Joining Fletcher in double digits were sophomore center Luke Knapke (16 pts., nine reb.), junior guard Jaelan Sanford (14 pts., team-high five asst.) and freshman guard Marreon Jackson (11 pts.). During their five-game winning streak, the Rockets possess an average margin of victory of 15.4 ppg and have trailed for just 11 minutes and 42 seconds (8:17 vs. KSU). Fletcher is the lone individual to appear in the MAC s Top 10 in points, rebounds and assists with 18.2 ppg (3rd), 8.4 rpg (3rd) and 3.9 apg (T-8th). Fletcher also tops the MAC in league play at 19.8 ppg, while Sanford is fifth with 17.8 ppg. Junior forward Nate Navigato ranks second in the MAC with 2.9 treys per game and a 45.5 3PTFG%. Jackson is fourth with a 44.0 3PTFG% and fifth with a 1.9 assist/turnover ratio. Knapke is fourth in the MAC with a 57.4 field-goal percentage and tied for fourth with 1.5 blocks per game. As a team, Toledo ranks 14th nationally (as of Jan. 21) with its 41.1 3PTFG% and also tops the MAC with its 47.1 FG% and is tied for first with 10.0 three-point FGs per game. The Rockets are also second with 80.3 ppg, 15.5 apg and a 1.2 assist/turnover ratio. WMU has dropped three of its last four decisions after opening league play with a pair of wins. The Broncos are 6-3 at home following Friday s 84-74 loss to Buffalo. Senior guard Thomas Wilder, who scored 28 points on 11-of-23 shooting at Toledo on Jan. 9, ranks fourth in the MAC with 17.5 ppg and third with 4.4 apg and 2.1 spg. The Rockets downed Western Michigan by an 84-61 margin in Savage Arena two weeks ago. Toledo has won just twice in its last 15 visits to University Arena, a 79-75 (OT) win in 2007 and a 97-87 victory in 2015.

UT has won five of its last eight meetings vs. KSU since the 2012-13 season, and Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk is now 6-5 vs. the Golden Flashes as a head coach. UT s 30 first-half points tied a season low and its 33.3 first-half FG% was a season low. Toledo is now 11-1 when not trailing at halftime after being tied following the opening 20 minutes for the first time this season. Toledo s six turnovers were its fewest since committing five vs. CMU on Feb. 27, 2016. Four Rockets scored in double digits for the 11th time this season and UT has a 9-2 mark when that occurs. The Rockets are 8-0 when holding their opponent under 70 points and 12-3 when scoring 70 points or more. The Rockets out-rebounded the Golden Flashes by a 35-34 margin, marking the ninth time in its last 11 contests that UT has won the battle of the boards. UT won for the first time in six contests this season when having a lower FG% than its opponent. The Rockets shot 42.6 percent from the field, while KSU posted a 48.1 FG%. TAKING A LOOK AT THE ROCKETS IN CONFERENCE PLAY Toledo leads the MAC in 3PTFG% (45.8), three-point field goals per game (10.8) and rebounding margin (+4.3) and ranks second in FG% (50.1), points (83.5) and assists (17.0 apg) per game, scoring margin (+11.2) and assist/turnover ratio (1.4). Tre Shaun Fletcher ranks first in scoring at 19.8 ppg, and Jaelan Sanford is fifth at 17.8 ppg. Luke Knapke ranks second in field-goal percentage at 61.3 percent. Sanford is also third with a 4.0 assist/turnover ratio, and Fletcher is fourth with a 2.6 mark. Nate Navigato is tied for fourth with a 57.1 3PTFG%. Navigato and Sanford are tied for fourth with 2.5 treys per game. THREE-POINT PRODUCTION One of Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk s goals for the Rockets heading into the 2017-18 campaign was to increase their three-point field goals. Toledo has done just that this season by converting 190-of-462 attempts for a 41.1 conversion rate, a mark that sits at the top of the MAC and ranks 14th nationally (as of Jan. 21). UT s 10.0 treys per game are tied for first in the MAC and are well ahead of last year s average of 7.7 three-pointers per game. The Rockets posted a 36.2 three-point field-goal percentage last year. Toledo tied its season high with 14 three-point field goals at Central Michigan (Jan. 13), a mark that is tied for third-most in school history. The school record is 17 vs. Wright State on Dec. 22, 2003 with UT also hitting 16 vs. Marshall on Jan. 12, 2000. UT has tallied nine or more treys in 15 of 18 contests, including 14-of-25 totals vs. Saint Joseph s (Nov. 11), 14-of-32 totals at CMU (Jan. 13), 13-of-22 totals at Ohio (Jan. 16), 13-of-23 totals vs. WMU (Jan. 9), 12-of-25 totals at Syracuse (Nov. 22) and 12-of-29 totals at Kansas (Nov. 28). Fletcher has produced eight double-doubles this season - 27 pts.-10 reb. vs. ONU (Nov. 14), 19 pts.-11 reb (5-of-6 3fg) at Syracuse (Nov. 22), 20 pts.-12 reb. FLETCHER S TREY PART OF SPORTSCENTER S TOP 10 Tre Shaun Fletcher game-winning shot at Detroit Mercy received national attention as it was ranked No. 2 on ESPN s SportsCenter Top 10 plays later that evening. Fletcher hit a three-pointer from the wing at the buzzer after the Titans had tied the game with 2.6 seconds remaining with a pair of free throws. The shot earned Fletcher some redemption after the senior guard had inadvertently committed a foul to send the Titans to the charity stripe. Nate Navigato ran the baseline after the two free throws and was able to find Fletcher. Fletcher then turned took one dribble to his right before knocking down a fadeaway trey from right in front of the Rocket bench. The play was similar to when former Rocket Juice Brown hit a three-point field goal vs. Buffalo in the 2014-15 campaign. SANFORD QUARTERBACKING ROCKET ATTACK Junior Jaelan Sanford was named to the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List, an award presented annually to the nation s top Division I mid-major player. Two of UT s homecourt setbacks last year were in overtime with another defeat coming by a 74-72 margin to Northern Illinois. UT posted a 12-4 record on its home court last year, a 9-6 mark in 2015-16, a 10-5 ledger in 2014-15 and a perfect 15-0 mark in 2013-14. The Rockets unbeaten record (15-0) at home in 2013-14 was their first since 1966-67 and just the fourth time in school history UT has accomplished the feat. ROAD WARRIORS The Rockets possess a 37-36 (.507) win-loss mark in their last 73 games on enemy courts (dating back to Jan. 30, 2013). Toledo has a 5-4 win-loss mark away from Savage Arena this season and has won five of its last six road tilts. UT s success on the road is a welcome departure from a four-year stretch (2007-11) that saw the Rockets win just one true road game out of 63 contests. Included during that period was a 47-game road losing streak that ended on Nov. 20, 2011 at Texas-Pan American. HORIZON FAMILIARITY Toledo has faced at least three Horizon League members in non-conference play over the last six years and faced four for a third consecutive year this season. The Rockets are 17-10 vs. the Horizon League during this stretch, including a 10-4 mark over the last three seasons. Prior to taking over at the Rocket helm, Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk spent eight seasons coaching in the Horizon League at Green Bay. LITTLESON TO HIT COURT IN 2018-19 Sophomore guard Spencer Littleson transferring Toledo from Duquesne University last spring. He will become eligible to play for UT in the 2018-19 campaign and has three years of eligibility remaining. Littleson earned first-team Associated Press Class A all-state honors and finished third Note: Teams listed in Bold are Toledo opponents in the voting for 2016 Michigan Mr. Basketball at Rochester Adams High School. He averaged this season. 25.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game with a 41.2 three-point field-goal percentage in leading the Highlanders to an 18-6 win-loss mark and the Class A regional championship. Littleson finished his career as the school record-holder for points in a season (502 as a senior), three-pointers in a season (72 as a senior), free throws in a game (19) and three-pointers in a career (161). HITTING THE BOOKS Toledo received the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award last summer, marking the third time in the four years the Rockets have received the award. UT was one of just two Mid-American Conference schools to be honored and is one of 12 schools in the nation to achieve this accomplishment on three occasions in the last four years. The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes NCAA and NAIA men s basketball teams that earned a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better throughout the 2016-17 academic year. Fifty-one of the 211 teams to make the list were NCAA Division I-affiliated programs. HITTING THE BOOKS II Toledo received NCAA Public Recognition for its classroom commitment last spring as part of the NCAA s Academic Performance Program. The Rockets most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) was 990 which ranked among the Top 10 percent in the nation. A total of 44 Division I programs received public recognition in men s basketball, with the Rockets being the lone representative from the Mid-American Conference.

Toledo Men s Basketball Game Notes - page 9 WORKING OVERTIME Toledo tied a national record last year with eight overtime games that was held by Western Kentucky (1978), Portland (1984) and Valparaiso (1993). UT s previous record for overtime games was five in the 1971-72 campaign. Toledo held a lead of at least seven points at some point in each of its overtime contests and let double-digit second-half leads slip away in half of them. VALUABLE EXPERIENCE FOR ROCKETS IN TRIP TO ITALY The Rockets returned to Europe for the first time in four years with a trip to Italy over the summer. UT previously traveled to Greece prior to the 2013-14 campaign, a season that resulted in Toledo winning the MAC regular-season title. The Rockets emerged victorious in each of their four games. UT played its first two games in Rome against Serbian club team, KK Kolubara, in Rome on Aug. 11-12 before squaring off against a team of professionals from Spain in Montecatini (near Florence) on Aug. 14. Toledo s game schedule concluded with a final matchup vs. an Italian All-Star squad at the United States Army Base in Vicenza Aug. 16. During their time in Italy, the Rockets ventured to historic sites and visited some amazing places in Rome the Ancient Colosseum, the Ancient Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Vatican City and St. Peter s Basilica. The team then visited the beautiful cities of Florence and Venice and took a day trip to the Dolomite Mountains (located near the southern Alps). The overtime game for UT was its eighth of the season, a total that ties the national record held by Western Kentucky (1978), Portland (1984) and Valparaiso (1993). The Rockets, who saw a 15-point second-half lead slip away for a second-straight game, were limited to a season-low point total (56) and fieldgoal percentage (.339) by the Broncos. Toledo turned in one of its top defensive performances of the season by holding WMU to a 34.3 shooting mark. Both teams struggled to find their touch from behind the arc as UT converted just 3-of-17 three-point attempts with the Broncos slightly better at 4-of-18. Jonathan Williams and Jaelan Sanford joined Taylor in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Thomas Wilder topped the Broncos with a game-high 30 points with Drake Lamont contributing a double-double thanks to 10 points and 10 rebounds.
