DEPARTMENT OF MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS MINISTERIAL ORDER FORMATION OF THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF FORTY MILE, NO. 2 Whereas the Co-Terminous Boundary Commission has recommended certain changes in municipal boundaries as designated in the Bow Island-Foremost Co-Terminous Area, No. 2, and Whereas it is deemed advisable and expedient to do so. Now therefore, pursuant to the authority vested in me by section 19 of The Municipal District Act, being chapter 151 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta, 1942, the undersigned hereby orders that: Part of Irpprovement District No. 1, Part of Improvement District No. 11, Part of The Municipal District of Warner No. 4, Part of The Municipal District of Bow Island No. 13, and Part of The Municipal District of Burlington No. 2, shall be merged into one new municipal district to be known and designated as The Municipal District of Forty Mile No. 2, and shall on and after January lst, 1954, comprise the following lands: The northerly one-third of township 3; all of townships 4 to 6 inclusiveiall of township 7 excepting thereout sections 1, 12, 13, 24, 25 and 36;~the west half of township 8; and sections 4 to 9 inclusive in township 9; all in range 5; 2081

That Tuesday, February 2nd, 1954, be fixed as the date for receiving nominations for the office of councillor for each of the said divisions. That the place for receiving nominations for the office of councillor shall be designated by the Returning Officer. That the Returning Officer appointed to conduct the said nominations and election (if any) shall, at least seven clear days before the nomination day post up or cause to be posted up a Notice in the form set out in the second part of Form H in the Schedule to the Municipal District Act in accordance with the provisions of sections 45 and 46 of. the said Act. That the Returning Officer shall divide the Municipality into polling divisions and name a polling place or places therefor, and appoint such Deputy Returning Officers and Poll Clerks as are necessary. 2084

THE ALBERTA GAZETTE, DECEMBER 31, 1853 That if a Poll be required for any electoral divisions of the said Municipal District it shall be held on Tuesday, March 2nd, 1954, from 9 o clock a.m. to 5 o clock p.m. That Leo Rene Maurice be, and he is hereby appointed, to prepare or cause to be prepared a voter s list of the said Municipal District of Forty Mile No. 2, in the manner set out in sections 27 and 28 of the Municipal District Act and for such purpose shall have access to the assessment rolls and the voter s lists of the Munfcipal Districts and Improvement Districts which are in whole or in part merged by this Order into the +Municipal District of Forty Mile No. 2, and the said Leo Rene Maurice shall in compiling or causing to be compiled the said voter s list comply as far as possible with the provisions of sections 30a, 30b and 31 of the Municipal District Act and carry out or cause to be carried out all the duties imposed by said sections upon the Secretary-Treasurer 09 a Municipal District at the time and in the manner required of a Secretary-Treasurer. That the said Leo Rene Maurice shall appoint such enumerators as are required by section 43 (1) of The Municipal District Act. That the first meeting of the newly elected council shall be held at a place to be desigrated by the Official Administrator at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 19th 1954. That this Order shall become effective oc the 1st day of January, 1954, except for the purpose of Certificates of Assessment as required by sections 283 and 296 of The School Act, 1952, and section 73 of The Elunicipal Hospitals Act th Order shall be deemed to have been in effect as of the 31st day o#december, 1953.
