Congratulations on your decision to join the Inverloch Bowling Club. Please enjoy the benefits of membership and become actively involved in the many activities that the club offers. If you are new to the game of bowls, you have now taken the first step. Enjoy participating and developing your game proficiency in your new sport. The Club was established in 1961 and has remained an integral part of the community since its inception. The traditions established by the founding members survive and prosper today through community contributions and budding friendships. Contact Details Welcome to the Inverloch Bowling Club Address: 20 The Esplanade, Inverloch 3996 (PO Box 38, Inverloch) Telephone: 5674 1655 Email: secretary@invybowls.org.au Web: www.invybowls.org.au Structure of the Club It is helpful to know a little about the way we operate the Club. For its successful administration, various committees have been formed: Board of Management comprises 9 Directors elected/nominated from the Affiliated members. The President, Secretary and Treasurer are defined positions with certain responsibilities. The other six Directors have been assigned portfolios covering these responsibilities: Facilities Catering & Events Sponsorship Bowling Activities Greens) Membership & Seasonal Bowls Bar Social/Fundraising The Board meets each month to discuss any issues and handle the business of the club. It also calls an Annual General Meeting each year, usually in May. At this meeting the Directors for the coming year are named and an update of the year is given to the members. Other items of business concerning the club are also discussed. Updated: July 2011, Nov 2013, Aug 2014, June 2015, May 2016, June 2017 1

Bowling Committee encompasses 2 main bowling functions: Match Committees which organises and handles: social bowls tournaments event days club championships Selection Committees are responsible for: pennant selection for Midweek or Saturday Pennant. Other Committees coordinate various functions: Bar Catering Membership Corporate Bowls Cleaning Fundraising Gardening Summer Bowls Barefoot Bowls Fees & Affiliations Each member pays Club Membership and Affiliation fees yearly. Only 1 invoice is generated to cover these charges. Club Membership The Club Membership fee is set at the Annual General Meeting by the Directors. An invoice for these fees is usually sent in July for immediate payment. New bowlers are offered Provisional membership which is half the full Club membership fee. A provisional membership allows the new bowler to be an active participant in all Club affairs but it does not include voting rights at the Annual meetings. Casual Bowler is a type of membership available for a social bowler that does not play Pennant. They may play Corporate Bowls. They are not eligible to play in tournaments, monthly triples, or club championship events. They may only play social games at Inverloch. Fees (1 st July 30 th June) for new members are Pro-rata after 1 st January. Club Membership cards are available when members pay their fees. Social Membership The Club also offers social membership for non-bowlers. This allows people to have the enjoyment of belonging to a club for an annual fee of $12.00. Social Members are included in our Member s Night Draw and are most welcomed at all our functions. Affiliations Bowlers are affiliated with Bowls Victoria if they wish to play Pennant or participate in tournaments, club championships and events of this nature. This 2

organisation sets its fee and this is collected from every bowler in Victoria. Some of the money is provided to Bowls Australia and World Bowls organisations. Strzelecki Region covers South & West Gippsland. Within this region, Inverloch belongs to the South Gippsland Bowls Division. The SGBD sets an affiliation fee as well.
