We have the Super Bowl Scramble in a few days and I hope to see you at the club for the game and party. It will be a great time! I want to address a couple of things that have been brought to my attention. First being dogs on the golf course. The stance of the BOD is if you are going to bring your dog(s) out on the course, please pick up after them. Also, be mindful of the golfers while you are out with your dog(s). Several complaints have been made about when someone is about to hit, carts and dogs are moving. This is a distraction and I know it can be easily avoided. Secondly, remember outside beer/alcohol is not permitted in the clubhouse or locker rooms. We are only hurting ourselves by not buying drinks at the club, while in the club. Please help us by policing each other and supporting MCC. This issue, too, can be easily avoided. Super Bowl Scramble & Party Maumelle Country Club Sunday, February 4th All Day Fun With the Scramble At 10am And the Party At 4:30pm Be on the lookout for some improvements in and around the club in the next few weeks (weather permitting). There are some great things happening and even better people helping make MCC the club we all want. We have had several new members join MCC the last month or so. If you see someone you don t recognize or know, stop and introduce yourself, make them feel welcome and show them what a great club we have. As always, thank you all for your support of MCC and tell a friend. Sincerely, Brad Frederiksen, President Maumelle Country Club H O L E IN ONE & EA G L E CONGRATULATIONS! Page 3 Maumelle Country Club February 2018 T URF TALK Greetings from MCC Turf Grass Department, These winter month s arctic cold fronts have had temperatures at MCC the lowest we ve felt in 20 years. Despite the harsh cold temps, our staff has removed over 10 dead trees throughout the golf course. Greens were finally painted, even though they have been covered for nearly two full weeks. The crew has edged all granite markers and are nearly half way completing the edging of all sprinkler heads,. After that, they will be refurbishing tee markers, cups, etc. Several small projects have been discussed and approved for this upcoming year that will we vastly improve our golf course. Thank you to the MGA and the new Board of Directors for supporting us. Special thanks goes out to MCC member Randy Moore, Randy has donated his lumberman sized chainsaw to help us with removal of the larger dead trees. Also, thank you to Maumelle Country Club and each member for making my first year back a fun and memorable one. We are very excited for warmer temps and I cannot wait for this year and an even better year, on the Championship Course. Sincerely, Lance Norwood Golf Course Superintendent Welcome New Members!
