What s the call Ump? Runner on 2 nd with 2 outs. The batter loops a single to left field. The runner on 2 nd tags 3 rd and heads for home. The left fielder throws to home and beans the runner off the head. Dazed, he sits in the base path between 3 rd and home. The ball bounces to the 3 rd baseman who runs over and tags the runner. What s your call? Believe it or not, the dazed runner is entitled to home on obstruction. The runner is entitled to unimpeded progress to the base. Up until 1846, you could put runners out by hitting them with the ball. Which 4 major leaguers have 40 Home Runs and 40 Stolen Bases in the same season? (Answer below)
