Datum: to WGS 84. 3.1 (a) The starting area will be off Pointe du Talut (b) The starting line will be between a staff displaying a START flag on the Race Committee Boat at the starboard end of the line and a square raft mark with cube at the other end of the line. (c) The range and bearing of the variable mark 1 & 3 will be displayed on the Start Boat and announced on VHF Channel 77 before the warning signal. (d) Individual Recall notification may be broadcast on the VHF Channel 77. Failure of the Race Committee to notify, delay in notification or the sequence of such notification shall not constitute grounds for redress. This amends RRS 62.1. (e) Addendum Q, excluding Q2.3, Q2.4, Q2.5, Q3.1(c), Q3.2 (b), shall apply from the preparatory signal for the Leg and ceases to apply between boats which have passed and cleared the start area gate. 4 LEG START EXCLUSION ZONES Marshalling buoys may be laid around the racecourse in the leg start racing area and at the Hague when boats resume racing. These marks are to exclude spectator boats and do not have any relevance to the Boats. 5 OUESSANT TSS, CASQUETS TSS, DOVER STRAIT TSS and ROTTERDAM TSS While racing no boats shall enter the area formed by the straight lines between adjacent points. 3
6 THE HAGUE PIT-STOP (a) NOR 19.5 applies from the time a Boat crosses the Hague Timing Gate for the first time until she resumes Racing. In addition to NOR 19.5 the following conditions apply: i. Fenders, mooring lines, sail, wheel and deck covers may be used. ii. Boats shall not use shore power. iii. Only Leg 9 Crew Members, OBR s and others approved by the RC prior to the Boats arriving in The Hague may conduct boat tours or be on-board a Boat. The process for requesting approval will be given to all teams during the Lorient Stopover. iv. The RC or an equipment inspector may seal the Boat(s) at any time. The seals shall only be broken by a member of the RC or an equipment inspector. v. NOR 19.3 is deleted. and replaced with: any repair work requiring a diver shall be done under the instruction and supervision of the BY. (b) Boats will resume racing in the order and with the same time deltas that they pass The Hague Timing Gate. The allocated individual Boat times to resume racing will be announced as soon as possible after a Boat passes through the Hague Timing Gate. (c) There will be no flag signals. Boats resume racing by crossing the line formed by The Hague Timing Gate marks anytime after their allocated time. (d) Notification to a Boat that has resumed racing prior to her allocated time or is on the course side of the Timing Gate line will be broadcast on the VHF Channel 72. In addition a rib displaying code flag X will approach the Boat and make repeated sound signals. Failure of the RC to notify or delay in notification or the sequence of such notification shall not constitute grounds for redress. This amends RRS 62.1. 7 HAGUE TIMING STOP-RESUMING RACING (a) The first Boat will resume Racing at 1200 hours (local) Saturday 20 th June 2015. (b) Boats may resume racing no sooner than the time given to that Boat during the Hague Pit-Stop by a member of the RC. A Boat resumes racing by crossing the line formed by Hague Timing Gate marks after her allocated time. (c) Boats that are on the course side of this line at their assigned time shall comply with RRS 29.1. Leg 9 SI 3.1 (a), (c), and (e) shall not apply, (b) is changed to: The line to resume racing shall be between a staff displaying a START flag on the starboard end of the line and the starboard navigation mark of the Hague Timing Gate at the port end. (d) An alternative line to resume racing will be the line between navigational marks Drain E to port and Drain W to starboard. Boats will be informed if the alternative line is to be used. 8 GOTHENBURG CHANNEL LIMITS After passing through the Gaveskar gate Boats shall stay inside the area formed by straight lines between the adjacent marks 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the northern side and marks 5, 6, 7 and 8 on the southern side these 2 lines shall rank as obstructions that a Boat shall not cross. Boats shall exit the area by passing through the Alvsborg gate. 9 THE FINISHING LINE (a) The Gothenburg finishing line will be between a staff displaying an orange FINISH flag on at the starboard end and a square raft mark with cube at the port end. The course may be shortened at a Gate. If the Älvsborg Bridge Gate is used the 4
finish line shall be between the western side of the bridge piles either side of the main span. The RC will be listening on VHF 68. (b) RRS 32.2 final sentence is deleted and replaced with: After one or more boats have finished, the course may be shortened for boats still racing. (c) When a shortened course is used Boats after finishing shall keep sailing towards the race village, if that is not possible then the Boat shall keep her mainsail hoisted and if possible a headsail or similar until they are in the area of the race village. 10 MEDIA DELIVERABLES (a) Within 4 hours of starting transmit photographs of the seals that have just been applied: to race control. (b) Each 24 hours: 2 mins of video, 5 to 8 photos and 200 words of text or another amount as directed by the watch producers. 11 COURSE DIAGRAMS LORIENT 5
