1 2014-2015 CVSC Ice Time Leddy and Gutterson Arenas www.champlainvalleyskatingclub.org tdkalamasz@comcast.net Tom Kalamasz Leddy Ice starts on September 7, 2014 and continues through May 10, 2015 Gutterson Ice starts on September 13, 2014 and continues through May 9, 2015 Contracts for spring ice will be sent out in early 2015 REGISTRATION: Contracts with payment ($100.00 minimum) are processed in the order they are received. All previous ice bills (contracts and walk-on fees) must be paid in full before new contracts will be processed. Waiver and release form must be signed and returned in order to contract or walk on CVSC ice. Skaters may contract later in the season for sessions where space is available. Rates are as noted on the Ice Contract attached. Rates are per family living in the same house. MEMBERSHIP: In order to contract CVSC ice, all skaters must be full or associate CVSC members. Membership forms may be found on the CVSC website www.champlainvalleyskatingclub.org. Contracts sent in by non-cvsc members will not be processed. SKATING ORDER FOR CONTRACTED SKATERS: We suggest contracting ice early in order to secure your spot in the skating order which will be determined by the date contracts are received. If you need to switch sessions due to coach requests after you send in the contract, please contact Tom.

2 COUPONS with ice session contracts: There are no make-ups for missed sessions. Instead, two coupons per contracted session will be issued to be used at the skater s discretion on any other CVSC sessions that are not full. Coupons can be used at either the Leddy or Gutterson rinks. Coupons may be used even if you have not missed any sessions. Coupons may not be used during CVSC test session practice ice. Coupons will not be replaced if lost. The skater will be assessed a walk on fee if the coupon is not presented to the ice monitor. Coupons are valid during the regular ice season (September 7, 2014 to May 10, 2015). PAYMENTS: Payments may be made in one lump sum or in six monthly installment payments. Please contact Tom Kalamasz if an alternative payment plan is necessary. A minimum deposit of $100.00 is required at the time of Contract submittal. Checks should be made payable to CVSC. Payments may be mailed to: CVSC Ice Coordinator, 41 Sydney Drive, Essex Junction, VT 05452 or given to an ice monitor. All contracts must be paid in full by March 1, 2015. Any member with remaining ice balances will be reported to USFS in May as required by USFS. 35-Coupon contract: A skater with a 35-coupon contract may use their coupons on any CVSC ice session where space is available. Coupons are valid during the regular ice season (September 7, 2014 to May 10, 2015) and may not be used during CVSC test session practice ice. The skater will be assessed a walk on fee if the coupon is not presented to the ice monitor. Coupons will not be replaced if lost. The 35-coupon contract does not come with 2 coupons per contract. The rate for the 35-coupon contract is $595, which is $17 per coupon. WALK-ON SKATERS: Any skater not contracted for a particular session is considered a walk-on skater. All walk-on skaters must be members of US Figure Skating or Basic Skills members of US Figure Skating. Walk-on skaters are welcome on a space available basis. When there are too many skaters wanting to walk-on, priority is given to full CVSC members. Full CVSC members may register for walk-on sessions in advance with the ice monitor. Walk-On Rate: $20/session

3 Additional skating time coupons: This season CVSC will be offering a ½ hour coupon option. These ½ hour walk on coupons may be used September 7, 2014 to May 10, 2015. Skaters will be able to use these ½ hr. coupons either immediately before or after a fully purchased session (walk-on, contract, or coupon). Walk on priority will go to a full session walk on first, then contracted ½ hour skaters. Fee: $10. Skaters will be responsible for watching their time and if a skater goes over the ½ hour time limit the skater will be billed for a full session. The Ice Committee is intending these ½ hour blocks to be used for practice or warm up time. Prepaid walk on coupons for ½ hour are available in 5 or 10 session blocks. Please contact Tom Kalamasz if you would like to purchase them. Coupons for purchase: A skater with an ice contract (for CVSC ice session(s) and/or a 35 coupon contract) may purchase books of 10 coupons for $170. Coupons are valid during the regular ice season (September 7, 2014 to May 10, 2015) and may not be used during CVSC test session practice ice. The skater will be assessed a walk on fee if the coupon is not presented to the ice monitor. Coupons will not be replaced if lost. Coupons may be shared among full or associate CVSC members living in the same house who have contracts. Reserving walk-on slots: All walk-on skaters must be members of US Figure Skating or Basic Skills members of US Figure Skating. A CVSC skater may reserve a full session walk-on space on a CVSC session up to 1 week in advance, if space is available. A reserved space is considered a contract and the space must be paid for even if the skater does not skate on it. Reservations are made with the monitor for that session. Coupons may be used for reserved sessions. The ½ hr. walk-on sessions may not be reserved. Additional Session information: There are no CVSC sessions at Gutterson on the following dates: October 18, 2014 and January 3, 2015. There are no CVSC sessions at Leddy on Sunday October 19, 2014, Monday October 20, 2014, Sunday January 18, 2015 and Sunday February 8, 2015.

There is now a requirement that everyone who contracts for Leddy or Gutterson ice (including 35 coupon contracts) must monitor a minimum of 3 sessions per contracted session. Monitor duties may be performed by an adult family member and need not be performed at the same session the contracted skater is skating. Ice monitor responsibilities include taking attendance of contracted skaters, collecting walk on fees and recording skaters on the ice session attendance sheets, promoting safety on the ice and playing music during the sessions following the current CVSC music policy. Ice monitors must be available 10 minutes before the session starts. Ice monitoring may be split between two people, with one playing the music and one taking attendance and collecting walk-on fees. In this case both monitors are responsible for promoting safety on the ice. Please contact Laurie Marnell, Volunteer Coordinator, with your monitoring preference as soon as possible. Assignments will be made on a first come, first reserved basis. If you have preference to split the monitoring please specify which you prefer. A specific mailing will be sent to members detailing the ice monitor training schedule and volunteer program. Contact Laurie at lauriemarnell@gmail.com.
