Tools Required: Spanner Set Pliers Socket set (Helpful but not required) Assembly: Step 1. Slot the poles W, X and Y together. Please Note: Pole W has to be inserted with the top hole on the same side as bracket Q see diagram 3 overleaf showing where the holes should be positioned. It is advisable to use a scrap piece of wood so you can tap the pole assembly to ensure it is fully slotted together. Bolt these poles together using the G1 Bolt, G2 washers and G3 nuts.
Step 2. Fix the bracket part Q onto the middle pole X. Use the plates L1 and L2 as shown with bolts H1, H2 and H3. Step 3. Fix the pole assembly to the base using Bolt J1 and washer J2. Please note at this point you need to ensure part Q is at the back of the stand.
Tip Please see advice below for correct nut and bolt assembly. Step 4. Step 4. Fix the top ends of the struts U1, U2, U3 and U4 onto the middle pole X using the Bolts set F1, F2, F3 and F4. Please note that the struts U 1 and U2 go underneath the U3 and U4 struts when being bolted to the pole. Do not fix the bottom ends of U3 and U4 until the next step as these need to also go through the wheel assembly.
Step 5. Attach the wheels to the base. Using the wheel brackets K. Bolt the brackets into place using i1, i2, i3 (please note at this point you must also bolt the U3 and U4 struts into place as these use the same hole as the wheel brackets) and then insert the wheel axle V through the first bracket and wheel through to the other side.
Step 6. Install the backboard brace S and T on to the top pole W. Then insert the pole cap N. Please note the bolts B1 and B2 should not be overly tightened, the brackets must be able to move freely as this will form the height adjustment mechanism. The Nylon locking nut will keep the pole from coming loose. Tighten them until you can feel the slightest tension when moving both T & S, then slightly loosen.
Step 7. Fix the height adjustment mechanism part Z. Use bolt set A1, A2, A3, A4 to fix the pole Z in place between the backboard support part T. Please note when fixing Z in place the small bolt tube must be on the inside to attach to bracket Q. Please see image below. This bolt should not be tightened too much as this forms part of the height adjustment mechanism, tighten it up until you can feel a resistance and then loosen a bit, the poles should be able to move freely. Attach the handle part R into the bottom of pole Z as shown. Now fix this into place at the bottom of part Z attaching it on to bracket Q. Use the E1, E2, E3 bolt set for this.
Step 8. Attach the ring AA to the backboard CC. Using the D1, D2, D3 bolt set.
Step 9. Mount the backboard on to the backboard brace S and T. Fix into place using C1, C2 and C3 bolt set. These bolts again need to be tightened to the right level, if they are too tight the unit will not adjust and too much pressure will be put on the stand. Tighten it up until you can feel a resistance and then loosen a bit, the poles should be able to move freely.
Step 10. Fix the pad on to braces U3 and U4 using the Velcro straps as shown below. Step 11. Attach the chain net to the hoop using a pair of pliers.
Step 12. Fill the base with a mixture of sand and water. We do not recommend only using water as during extreme temperatures the water can freeze causing the base to split or evaporate making the stand very unstable. Replace cap after filling. Height Adjustment:
Moving the System 1. Adjust the basketball backboard height to the lowest position. 2. While holding the pole rotate the basketball system forward until the wheels engage with the ground 3. Move the basketball system to the desired location 4. Carefully rotate the basketball system upright 5. Check the system for stability SAFTEY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS Assembly If using a ladder during assembly, use extreme caution. Two (2) capable adults are recommended for this operation Seat the pole sections properly (if applicable). Failure to do so could allow the pole sections to separate during play and/or transport of the system. After assembly is complete, fill the system completely with sand. Never leave the system in an upright position without filling the base with weight, as system may tip over causing injuries Use Minimum operational height is 6 6 (1.98m) to the bottom of the backboard This equipment is intended for home recreational use only and NOT excessive competitive play. Read and understand the warning label affixed to the pole. Adult supervision is recommended when adjusting height. Do not allow anyone to stand on the base. DO NOT HANG on the rim or any part of the system including backboard, support braces or net. During play, especially when performing dunk type activities, keep the player s face away from the backboard, rim and net. Serious injury could occur if teeth/face come into contact with the backboard rim or net
Do not slide, climb shake or play on the base and/or pole. When adjusting the height or moving the system, keep hands and fingers away from the moving parts. Do not allow children to move or adjust the system During play, do not wear jewellery (rings, watches, necklaces, etc) Objects may become entangled in the net. Do not leave the system unsupervised or play on the system when the wheels are engaged for moving Check the system before each use for instability Do not use the system during windy and/or severe weather conditions; the system may tip over. Place the system in the storage position and/or in an area protected from the wind and free from personal property and/or overhead wires. Never play on damaged equipment Use caution when moving the system across uneven surfaces as the system may tip over Care and Maintenance Climate, corrosion, or misuse could result in system failure. Check base regularly for leakage. Slow leaks could cause the system to tip over unexpectedly. The life of your basketball stand depends on many conditions. The climates, placement of the stand, location of the stand, exposure to corrosives such as pesticides, herbicides, or salts are all important. The surface beneath the base must be smooth and free of gravel or other sharp objects. Punctures cause leakage and could cause the system to tip over. Keep organic material away from the pole base. Grass, litter, etc could cause corrosion and/or deterioration. Check the pole system for signs of corrosion (rust, pitting, chipping) and repaint with exterior enamel paint. If rust has penetrated through the steel anywhere, replace the pole immediately. Check the system before each use for proper ballast, loose hardware, excessive wear and signs of corrosion and repair before use. Keep the pole top covered with the cap at all times. Do not allow the water in the tank to freeze. During sub-freezing weather add 2 gallons of nontoxic antifreeze, sand or empty the tank completely and store. (do not use salt) Storage Store unit away during extreme weather conditions. When moving the system, use caution to keep the mechanism from shifting While moving the system, do not allow anyone to stand or sit on the base or have added ballasting on the base. Use extreme caution if placing the system on a sloped surface as the system m ay tip over more easily
