RULES AND REGULATIONS General Rules 1. All HCBC classes, offered herein are covered by the rules and specifications of the current HCBC rulebook and will be conducted accordingly. Classes specifically for riders with disabilities (designated as RDA) are covered by the rules and specifications of the current PE and HCBC rulebook and will be conducted accordingly. At the discretion of their CanTRA instructor, RDA riders are permitted to use their regular tack and are not subject to HCBC or PE tack check rules. 2. Neither, North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association, nor the Maple Ridge Equi-sport Centre, nor the Show Committee will be held responsible in any way for damages, injury, and loss to persons, horses or property of spectators and exhibitors. 3. ALL competitors must have a current Horse Council B.C. membership. Photocopies must be submitted with your entry form. 4. Riders may enter up to three tests per day per horse. 5. DRESSAGE TESTS: Current Equestrian Canada Tests will be used in HCBC Dressage classes. Either National Bronze PE tests or the NFTRA Dressage tests (available from NFTRA office) may be used in the RDA dressage classes. Horse Council BC Western Dressage tests will be used in Western Dressage classes. Competitors must provide their own commanders and callers as required. 6. The Management reserves the right to split, combine, cancel, and/or adjust any class at its discretion, to govern all conditions of the show, and to make decision upon any matters not covered by current HCBC or PE rules. 7. SPECIAL REQUESTS AND MULTIPLE ENTRIES: Please indicate on the entry form, the order in which you wish to ride if you have multiple horses/tests in the same class. Special requests cannot be considered after the closing date of entries. Once assigned, ride order will not be changed. 8. Any entry not properly completed or not including the required documentation or payments will be returned to the sender. No competition number will be issued without payment. Entries close on June 9 th, or after the first 100 entries are received. Post entries after closing date will not be accepted. PAYMENT: Make cheques payable to NFTRA. Stabling deposits must be a separate cheque from entry fees. Dishonored cheques will be subject to a $25.00 penalty. 9. REFUNDS: Prior to the closing date, all entry fees will be refunded, $10 administration fee still applicable. After closing date, 50% of class fees will be refunded with a veterinarian/physician certificate, stabling and administration fees will not be refunded. A veterinarian/physician certificate must be presented 24 hours PRIOR to the start of the show for any fees to be refunded. 10. STABLING: Stabling on the show grounds will be available from 12:00 noon Friday June 23 th 2017. The stabling fee is $75.00 from noon Friday until completion of the show on Sunday and includes bedding. A separate clean out deposit of $25.00 will be required. Stalls must be stripped and cleaned before departing. The barn manager will review your stall at the end of the day to determine if your deposit is returned or not. All other stall maintenance is the responsibility of the competitor. Stabling fees are non refundable. Competitors who have not paid a stabling fee will be charged a haul in fee of $10.00 per day, per horse (excluding NFTRA program riders). Shavings will be available as the bedding of choice. Stall charts will be posted in stabling area. Please note that stabling is assigned and any changes must be approved by Competition Manager. 11. TACK STALLS: Tack stalls are available for $50/each. If you have a group of at least 3 competitors stabling together, you can request a tack stall at no charge. 12. SCHOOLING HORSES are permitted to attend competition grounds for schooling purposes for a fee of $50 for the 2 day show. An entry form must be completed and a number assigned for all schooling horses by the Entry Closing Date. Stabling charges and/or Haul In fees are applicable for all schooling horses. Drug testing fees and DC Levy Fees are not applicable for schooling horses. 13. FARRIER: The Farrier will be on call for the duration of the show. Keith Dixon 604-855-8635. 14. VETERINARIAN: The veterinarian will be on call for the duration of the show. 604-844-0086. 15. FIRST AID: First Aid will be provided on site for the duration of the show.

16. SHOW OFFICE: The show office will be open Friday from noon to 5:00pm and from 7:30-4:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. 17. SCHOOLING AREAS: Schooling in competition rings is permitted on Friday only. 18. COMPETITION NUMBERS: Must be worn and visible at all time in schooling and exercise areas as well as in the competition ring. 19. HEAD GEAR: Approved headgear is required for all participants. Competitors must wear a properly fitted ASTM or BSI approved helmet with the safety harness correctly secured, at all times while mounted on the competition or event grounds. Competitors not meeting this requirement will not be allowed to compete. 20. Hors Concours is not allowed at this competition 21. Whips to a maximum length of 1.20m may be carried. 22. Lunge whips are permitted only when lounging. Lunging is permitted in designated areas only. 23. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times. Entries: 1. Ride times will be available by 1:00 pm on Thursday June 22 rd phone NFTRA 604-462-7786. 4. Ride times will be emailed out to competitors who provide an email address with their entry. 5. All competitors must sign the waiver. 6. ALL ENTRIES MUST INCLUDE PHOTOCOPIES OF CURRENT HCBC MEMBERSHIPS. Freestyles: 1. Music must be in CD format 2. Freestyle riders must provide a CD to the show office by 12 noon Saturday June 24 th. 3. CD must be clearly labeled with the Rider s Name, Competition Number and track identified for the selected music. It is the rider s responsibility to pick their CD up from the show office prior to the close of the show. 4. Sound checks are available from 2:00pm to 4:00pm Friday. Dressage Championship Awards: Championship and Reserve Championship will be awarded for each division and category with 3 or more qualifying competitors. A final minimum average score of 60% must be obtained to be eligible for Championship. A final minimum average score of 58% must be obtained to be eligible for Reserve Championship. In divisions with less than 3 riders the Show Committee reserves the right to alter or combine the Championships and Reserve Championships presented. Freestyle scores do not count towards championship Dressage Championship Criteria: The combined total of the top 2 tests at each level, one of which must be the most difficult test in the level Western Dressage Championship Criteria: The combined total of the top 2 tests at each HCBC Western Dressage level, one of which must be the most difficult test in the level PE/NFTRA Division Criteria: The combined total of any 2 tests in each level. Dressage High Point Award: A Dressage High Point Award will be awarded to the dressage rider/horse combination who achieves the highest score of the show.

The Partner scores will be determined by adding the scores of the RDA rider and the able bodied partner for a combined total to determine the placings in the partner classes. Please include the name of your RDA partner when entering any of these classes. You may find your own partner or for help with matching with an RDA rider before entering please contact the NFTRA office. RDA riders will enter as A walk only with leader and/or sidewalker support B walk and trot with leader and/or sidewalker support C independent at walk and trot Please use the appropriate letter with the class number when entering Partner Riders will do the same obstacle course as the RDA riders and a walk/trot/canter equitation class Equitation Scoring for partner total: 1 st place - 6 point 2 nd place 5 points 3 rd place 4 points 4 th place -3 points 5 th place -2 points 6 th place 1 point
