Classes are open to Members and Non-Members of the NPS, but Non-Members will need to become Adult Qualifying Members to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival 2013. The NPS General Rules for Showing apply. In each class the three highest placed ponies, not already qualified, within the first six places, will qualify. Winnings in the 2012/2013 Novice and Pure Novice Winter Championships will not debar ponies from the NPS 2013 Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions. NPS HIRSTMUND STUD M&M PURE NOVICE RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Class 31 Small Breeds Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland and Welsh Section A & B Class 32 Large Breeds Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D Pony not to have been placed first in any Ridden M&M Class (Excluding Lead Rein and First Ridden). All ponies in this class must be shown in a snaffle bridle. Rider any age. This Competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Book. NPS M &M NOVICE RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Class 33 Small Breeds Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland and Welsh Section A & B Class 34 Large Breeds Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest and Welsh Section C & D Pony not to have won a first prize in any Open Ridden M&M Class. Ponies in this class to be shown in any suitable bridle. Rider any age. NPS SNUGGY HOODS M&M OPEN RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Class 35 Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A & B Class 36 Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Welsh C & D This Competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Book

Class 37 : NPS/CHECKLEYBANK M&M NOVICE LEADING REIN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Pony not to have won a first prize in any Leading Rein class. This Competition is open to mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of the Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Section A & B Stud Books. Not exceeding 122 cms. Riders must have attained their 3rd but not have attained their 9th birthday (riders ages are as at 1st January of the current year). To be shown in a suitable snaffle bridle, the leading rein must be attached to the noseband only. The reins must go directly from the bit to the rider s hand. Class 38 NPS M&M NOVICE FIRST RIDDEN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP Pony not to have won a first prize in any First Ridden class. This Competition is open to mares and geldings four years old or over which must be registered in the main body of the Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, New Forest and Welsh Section A & B Stud Books. Not exceeding 128 cms. Riders must have attained their 3rd but not have attained their12th birthday (riders ages are as at 1st January of the current year). To be shown in any suitable bridle. The Organisers and Show s officers, servants or agents shall not be in any way responsible or accountable for any loss, injury or damage from any cause or circumstances whatever to exhibitors or their servants or agents or other members of the public, to any animal or property or any vehicle or otherwise brought onto the showground, or on premises used in conjunction with the show or while entering or leaving the same or otherwise for anything else in conjunction with, or arising out of, or attributable to the Show. 2. The decision of the Judge is final and the Organisers reserve the right to amend the Judge s panel and order of classes if it should become necessary. 3. The Committee reserves the right to cancel/amalgamate any class with less than three entries. 4. The Committee reserves the right to retain all or part of the entry fees in the event of the show being cancelled. 5. Any protest shall be lodged in writing with the Show Secretary within half an hour of the incident together with a deposit of 10. If the protest is not upheld, the deposit will be forfeited to the funds of the show. 4. With the exception of the Part-Bred classes, all entries must be entered in the main section of the stud book for their respective breeds. Part Bred ponies must be registered in the Welsh Part- Bred register. Entries in the WPCS Section X of the Stud Book and Foundation Stock cannot compete but FS.1 and FS.2 may. All stud book registration numbers must be given on all entry forms. 7. Correctly secured current British Standard skull caps/riding hats must be worn at all times when mounted. Spurs are not permitted and no cane to be more than 30 inches. 8. NO MANES OR TAILS TO BE PLAITED IN ANY M&M CLASS, OPTIONAL FOR PART- BREDS. 9. No nominations or substitutions will be made. 10. Ponies must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor or officially leased. 11. No change of handler may be made once a class has commenced without the permission of the judge. 12. Stallions must be licensed in accordance with breed regulations. 13. The show committee strongly recommends that competitors have adequate third party insurance. 14. Competitors entering classes which may clash do so at their own risk, no entry fees will be refunded. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to ensure they are ready to enter the ring at the appropriate time. 15 NPS rules regarding age of handlers/riders of stallions apply. Handlers of ponies in In Hand classes aged 14 years and under must wear correctly secured current British Standard skull caps/riding hats. 16. Ponies must be the bona fide property of the Exhibitor of officially leased. 17. All dogs must be kept on a lead. 18. Exhibitors must not enter an animal when that animal will be judged by a person who has or has had a financial interest in the animal, stud fee excluded, (the exhibitor being the owner, lessee or person producing and/or showing the animal). Judges may not adjudicate a pony which, to the judge s knowledge, is a pony bred, sold, leased or produced by the judge or his immediate family or employer.

19. Exhibitors are requested not to bring any coughing pony to the show and may be requested to remove any such animal. 20. All cups and trophies remain the property of the South Western Association of the Welsh Pony & Cob Society and must be returned to the show secretary. All cups and trophies are the responsibility of the winner whilst in their possession. They may only be signed for only an adult. Any person who has had an SWA cup or trophy in the past and has not returned it by the time of the next show may not be allowed to take away a cup or trophy they have been awarded. 21. Refund of entry fee only on receipt of a veterinary certificate. 22. The Committee strongly recommends that competitors have adequate third party insurance. PARENTS PLEASE BE AWARE that there may be photographers at the show and if you do not want your children photographed you must make your own arrangements. Only official photographers are allowed in the rings.
