Soundings Newsletter of South Port Sailing Club September 2015 Message from the Commodore Ann Ramey I cannot believe that I am writing the September Soundings. Summer is flying by. Finally August has brought us some terrific weather with excellent wind and minimal rain. Our water levels have been awesome. Everyone has been enjoying our new harbour which I must say is almost completely full. This has let us consider resurrecting F dock with some limitations. Membership would be cautioned that we cannot guarantee water depth. We have had some excellent events this past month. All regatta s have been well attended. Much thanks to all members that volunteered their time and energy. The Friday Happy Hour continues to be a success. Thanks to Kelly for her suggestion. I would also like to thank our Junior Sailing Instructors led by Amelia Dolsen who have once again done a fabulous job. The Sailing School instructors had a hugely successful end of season BBQ and fundraiser on Saturday, August 15 th. The additional Invitational Regatta, August 16 th had 19 boats participate which is outstanding. Many events are coming up in September. Please keep Sunday Sept. 13 th available for the Hospice Regatta and of course Saturday September 19 th is the Annual Harvest Moon Regatta. Mark your calendars for the Fall Furl to be held this year at South Port on Saturday November 7 th. It will be catered by Just Jeff s Catering. More to follow in the next few weeks.
