Aim To organise and administer netball in the Club and provide a direct reporting link with the executive committee. To treat all members in a fair and equitable manner. Composition of the netball Management Committee as follows: 1. Secretary 2. Treasurer 3. Registrar 4. ERNA Delegate 5. Coaching Coordinator 6. Grading & Development Coordinator 7. Umpire Allocations & UDP Convenor Composition of the Netball General Committee & Sub Committee as follows: 8. Assistant Secretary 9. Assistant Registrar 10. Umpire Development Mentor 11. Duties Coordinator 12. Media & Marketing (includes Webmaster) 13. Equipment Officer 14. Assistant Equipment Officer 15. Working with Children Officer (MPO) 16. Events Coordinator 17. Collection and processing of WWCC Roles - MC Management Attend MC committee meetings Committee (MC) Attend ERNA council meetings if required Assist with special duties as required throughout the year Report to MC Committee on relevant portfolio Attend Netball competition days as required to ensure that: All parents, players & umpires are adhering to Code of Conduct Junior members are safe from any unacceptable behavior Provide assistance as and when required Liaise with ERNA if any problems arise at any time A presence is shown from the committee to members, parents & other clubs Secretary Contact point for communication from ERNA & Other clubs Page 2

Communicate information to committee & members as required Manage incoming & outgoing forfeits Keep a record of meetings Represent Netball on the WRR Sports & Social Club Executive Committee Treasurer Collect payments, including registration fees & uniform payments Banking of all monies received & record receipts Pay accounts for netball related expenses Calculate GST for Netball Reconcile accounts & prepare end of year paperwork for accountants Represent Netball on the WRR Sports & Social Club Executive Committee Registrar Set the registration days & prepare registration brochure Registration notifications to members Keep DB up to date Validate DOB & ensure witnessed Statutory Declarations as required Manage Photos, player cards & photo books Co-ordinate online registrations with ERNA/NNSW Register teams with ERNA, attend registration forums Collect & distribute fixture books Manage late registrations incl clearance to play Manage de registrations Keep a record of ERNA rep players for inclusion on ERNA rego forms ERNA Delegate Attend ERNA Council Meetings and report back to MC Coaching Coordinator Source & allocate coaches for teams as required Source & allocate managers for all teams Ongoing communication & support to coaches & manages throughout the season Liaise re resources, equipment, courses available, etc Grading & Development Work with the Sub Committee to organize development programs ( skill clinics ) and round robins. Coordinator Set grading and development program dates Review grading policy as required Coordinate mid season grading Host Sub committee meetings to finalize team allocations and help put senior teams together Coordinate grading days including selectors Umpire Allocations & UDP Convenor Allocate and implement umpiring rosters, including Day competition, Night competition and Representative selections Oversee and coordinate WRR candidates for ERNAs UDP Collate and calculate umpire payments at the appropriate intervals throughout the season and forward to the Treasurer for payment Roles - GC General Committee Attend GC committee meetings (GC) Assist with special duties as required throughout the year Report to MC Committee on relevant portfolio Assistant Secretary Assist the Secretary in discharging the functions and duties of the position Assistant Registrar Assist the Registrar in discharging the functions and duties of the position Umpire Development Mentor Oversee the development and progression of WRR umpires by coaching, mentoring & encouragement Ensure all umpires are challenged and appropriately utilized to ensure their development and progression through the different levels so they can strive to achieve their full potential Ensure an umpire is placed on the ERNA badging list when they are deemed ready for progression to the next level Duties Coordinator Manage the allocation of any duties assigned by ERNA, including BBQ, Hot Food Canteen, Cold Food Canteen, Control Table, Umpire Control Ensure Managers confirm duty allocation and advise roster to relevant ERNA Ground Supervisor and Canteen coordinators Page 3

Media & Marketing, Newsletter includes Webmaster Media Keep website up to date as required Equipment Officer Manage the purchase, sale & distribution of equipment, including uniforms, balls, kits, coaching aids Assistant Equipment Assist the Equipment Officer in discharging the functions and duties of the position Officer Working with Children Ensure WWCC data is collected as required Officer (MPO) Support members as required Provide advice re any MPO related complaints/incidents Events Coordinator Organise club photos Organise Presentation, including: Venue booking Ordering trophies for relevant teams Organise which teams receive relevant trophies Prepare running sheet Purchase gifts for VIP s Organise invitations to members and VIP s Book and plan the ed of year committee dinner Meetings Meetings shall be held as required. A Quorum shall be at least 50% of the relevant committee members. Grading Policy Grading procedures are outlined in the West Ryde Rovers Grading Policy as updated by the Netball Sub Committee from time to time. Gala Days Should any team manager wish to involve their team in such activities, they are to organise via the secretary of the netball sub-committee. Control of Financial Commitments For the purpose of drawing on Netball Sub Committee account, two of the following shall sign, Sports & Social Club President, Treasurer or Registrar. Member Protection All Club Officials (Sub committee members, coaches, managers and anyone over 18 regularly assisting teams) must complete the Working with Children Check (WWCC) and return the appropriate information to the Member Protection Officer (MPO) prior to the commencement of duties. Team control (a) Each junior team (7y to Cadets) in the club will have at least one (1) team manager and one (1) team coach. (b) Each senior team will have at least one (1) team manager. (c) The team manager will be responsible for the following: 1. Liaison with netball sub-committee 2. Notification of fixtures 3. Responsibility for team equipment 4. Responsibility for results on completion of game 5. Keep record of games played up in a higher division 6. Keep record of games played / time on court per player (d) The team coach shall be responsible for the following: 1. Plan and implement team training sessions 2. Team selection in accordance with Club guidelines Time on Field Page 4

Any junior player registered with the club shall be entitled to play at least 75% of all (not each) competition fixtures for which they are available. To enable this, the maximum number of players allocated to each junior team will be the number of players permitted on the field at any one time plus two. Any disputes in selection arising from this method of control are to be brought to the attention of the Netball Sub Committee with the full knowledge of both parties. Team Selection Weekly selection of teams, as distinct from grading of players, is the task of the team coach. Any disputes in selection arising from this method of control are to be brought to the attention of the netball sub-committee with the full knowledge of both parties. Personal Disputes The team manager and the team coach are fully responsible for each team. No interference should be tolerated by either person from outside parties that may interfere with the efficient management of their team. If such interference should occur, a written report by the team manager must be forwarded to the netball sub-committee for advice and action on the matter. Competitive Disputes Any problems incurred by a team under competition conditions (eg. players misbehaving, players cautioned, spectator behavior, etc) are to be reported promptly (if possible during play) to the secretary of the netball sub-committee for their advice and action. ERNA control or the ERNA umpiring committee can also be contacted for assistance during play. Training Players are required to attend playing sessions scheduled by the coach. If players are unable to attend, the team coach or manager should be notified as soon as possible. Player's Equipment Players in all ERNA matches must appear in proper uniform, comprising of navy/white club uniform, white socks in conformity with the laws of the game. Brush Farm players are allowed to wear white skivvies underneath their uniform. Selection of Managers and Coaches It shall be the responsibility of the netball sub committee to obtain sufficient managers and coaches for all teams under its control. If any such position should become vacant during the season, it is the responsibility of the netball subcommittee to ensure that such vacancies are filled as soon as possible. Duties All members (or parents in the case of junior players) are expected to assist in one or more of the activities associated with running of the netball club, such as coaching, managing, umpiring, canteen duty, control table duty, umpire table duty and BBQ. Trophies Perpetual Trophies: Mavis Waud Trophy for Most Outstanding Junior Team (10yrs to Cadets) The trophy will be awarded based on results in the ERNA competition rounds (i.e., not semi finals) to the junior team who: a) wins the ERNA premiership b) if more than one team has won their premiership, the team with the highest win percentage (number of games won / number of games played) will be awarded the trophy c) if more than one team has won their premiership and has the same win percentage, the team with the highest goal difference will be awarded the trophy d) if more than one team is equal after goal difference the trophy will be awarded jointly. The trophy will be awarded based on the results in the ERNA competition to the following criteria: a) total goals scored against divided by total games played b) total goals scored against all teams in the grade divided by number of games played in the grade c) calculations of (a) divided by calculations of (b) The trophy will be awarded to the team with the lowest percentage calculated. The Robyn Casey Award for the Best Attacking Team The trophy will be awarded based on the results in the ERNA competition according to the following criteria: a) Total number of goals scored for divided by total number of games played b) Total number of goals scored by all teams divided by total number of games played c) Calculations of (a) divided by calculations of (b) The trophy will be awarded to the team with the lowest percentage calculated. The Encouragement Award (10yrs to Cadets) The trophy will be awarded based on results in the ERNA premiership rounds (i.e., not pennant competition) to the junior team who: a) has the lowest number of competition points at the end of the season b) if more than one team has the lowest number of competition points, the trophy will be awarded jointly Karen Waud Trophy for Outstanding Service to the Sports & Social Club (Netball Sub Committee) This trophy will be awarded to a member of West Ryde Rovers Sports & Social Club (Netball Sub Committee) Nominations will be evaluated by the Sports & Social Club President who will determine the recipient. Other Trophies: West Ryde Rovers Netball Club Umpire of the Year Award This award will be given at the discretion of the Umpires Convenors and according to the following criteria: a) an umpire who has given exceptional service to club umpiring b) an umpire who has given outstanding support and assistance to the Umpires Convenors Each year all players registered with junior teams (under 7y to cadets) will receive a participation award. Each year all players registered with junior teams (11 to cadets) reaching the finals series of the ERNA competition will receive a trophy. Each year senior teams reaching the final series of the ERNA competition will receive an award at the discretion of the Netball Sub Committee. Recognition Awards for Years of Service Service Awards will be presented at 5 years, and in 5 year increments, will be presented at the discretion of the Netball Sub Committee. Presentation of Awards and Trophies The West Ryde Rovers Netball Club will hold an annual Awards and Presentation Event to be organised by the members of the elected committee. Alteration to By-Laws The By-Laws shall only be altered by a majority vote of persons attending a Netball Sub Committee Meeting Anyone being granted membership of the Club shall abide by these By-Laws and the West Ryde Rovers Sports & Social Club Constitution.
